This is sounding

Offense didn’t move the ball particularly well.

Brad and Chad fight going on here.

It’d be good if both of you realized that nobody here cares about your hissyfit. Take it somewhere else

Haha truth. I mean generally defenses will and should win the early scrimmages, but I still am not getting the warm and fuzzies from the offensive side news

Probably important to keep in mind that our defense is really, really good. Despite the negativity on the offense - we know of at least 3 TDs and 2 long field goals.

QBs not being live is an issue for this offense, period. And not having the read-option in play for 2 QBs that will utilize it tells us very little, IMO.

That’s true, but...

The first-team offensive line struggled.

Sounds a lot like last year.

Yep. Eliminating any type of zone read in this offense hurts. Eliminate even the threat of it with no live QB against a good defense, and it really hurts.

Still disappointed Gatewood's teams couldn't get any points.

Yeah it’s not a positive day by any means. Just wonder how the OL plays different with a live QB

Yea that is what is the most disappointing news today. it does sound like they were going up against our first team DL, so I get them struggling some, but I would think at this point in their careers, they should at least be able to hold their own.

Sounds like there were 2 INTs, not 3.

The third was a fumble by the receiver

Yep plus one fumble by a RB that went out of bounds.

This. The narrative in last year's camp was that our oline was struggling because of how great our defensive line was. Then, our vaunted dline got torched during the season by Miss State, UGA, and one or two others. Our oline, A "good" oline should not be a complete shiteshow against any dline no matter how talented or experienced they are.

Listening to Gus speak, he didn’t blame the OL at all or say they played bad. Just FWIW.

That came from somewhere else

True, though he also didn't necessarily put any specifics other than the offense struggled to move the ball.

Plus no Schwartz, Hastings, and Stove. Not surprising. Most concerned about OL.

Right. Just going back to what I said prior to the scrimmage beginning: lots of 2nd and 3rd hand information.

From the coaches and players so far - no negative comments about the OL

He's not sure of the specifics yet.. He needs to review film. We should have some tweaks in place by the Miss State game in week 5.

Notes from “insiders” at the scrimmage:

"Bo Nix took the first snap and looks like the more polished quarterback. Nix and Gatewood had some nice plays, mostly against the backups, and some they'd like to have back. If the race really is even, I didn't see anything that would separate one from the other.

From one insider: "It was the defense's day, especially the ones. It might sound strange when I say this, but the offensive line looked like it has come a long way from last season."
"They had a long run against the backups, but none of the running backs got much done against the ones
