Matthew Hill and Marquis McClain both had touchdown catches.
The first-team offensive line struggled.
No injuries from the scrimmage
84 plays

Are there any Gatewood bashers?

Balls.
Though, if they were going up against the 1's, that doesn't necessarily surprise me.

We’re hearing of a lot of TDs. Unclear if McClain and Hill TDs were with 1st or 2nd squad though. We know the Joiner TD was with the 2nd team

Auburn HC Gus Malzahn is here to discuss the Tigers' first scrimmage of fall camp. -
Six reps of live punts and returns (Javaris Davis, Christian Tutt and Matthew Hill each got two)
Third-down period with the music in the stadium turned up - 84-play scrimmage

"Hey, really good that our defense had an outstanding day. Getting turnovers, that's a focus for us," says Malzahn.
"There weren't enough first downs to even see it," to really discuss the quarterbacks today, Malzahn says.
Joey Gatewood's offense did not score when he was on the field today.

Yes, but the whole thing with the bashers was Gatewood isn't as good throwing (even though they looked even in the spring game). Even though he's a far better runner.

As expected, Auburn WRs Eli Stove and Will Hastings were limited in today's scrimmage.
Auburn HC Gus Malzahn mentioned Zach Farrar, Marquis McClain and Shedrick Jackson as receivers who had to step up today.

Listen dipshit, you can go frick yourself. I've had enough of your shite. People have been saying Joey should switch to TE, can't throw, etc. in just about every thread.

Running back Shaun Shivers worked with the first-team offense and Boobee Whitlow also saw some first-team snaps.

Auburn MLB K.J. Britt (undisclosed) did not scrimmage today. Gus Malzahn expects him back this week.

Sounds like Joiner played quite a bit today with the 1st and 2nd teams

Al.com notes
GUS MALZAHN
-- First scrimmage “overall was good.” Notes that the heat was good for the players to push them.
-- Did punt, punt return, six full-speed reps of those. Javaris Davis, Christian Tutt and Matthew Hill all got reps in traffic.
-- Did a third-down period of bump-tempo with music cranked up. Good for pressuring the young quarterbacks.
-- Ran an 84-play scrimmage split pretty evenly between first-, second- and third-teamers.
-- “Got a lot of great information” on not just younger players, but the veterans as well.
-- Defense, especially the orange defense “dominated the scrimmage” with three turnovers. Two interceptions, with a pick-six, and a fumble.
-- All running backs got an opportunity to rotate and touch the ball.
-- Threw a few different things at the QBs despite being a base scrimmage.
-- “This scrimmage will really be highly graded on effort.”
-- One interception went off the wide receiver’s hands. Other interception was just a great play by the safety. No word on who made the interceptions just yet. Fumble came after a catch.
-- Running back ball security was good, for the most part. Had one fumble go out of bounds.
— Anders Carlson had a 58-yard FG. Also finished the scrimmage with a 48-yard field goal in a pressure situation.
-- Offense didn’t move the ball particularly well.
-- Feels strong that this year’s offensive line will be “solid” and “has a chance to be really good.”
-- Eli Stove and Will Hastings were limited, by design. Wanted to get more depth out there from younger guys who haven’t had an opportunity yet.
-- Reiterates that he doesn’t know the status of Anthony Schwartz for the first game yet.
-- Zach Farrar, Marquis McClain, Sal Cannella and Shedrick Jackson all had ample opportunities today.
-- Harold Joiner got “quite a few carries” as Cadillac Williams rotated the running backs today. D.J. Williams is still limited and didn’t partake in scrimmage. No timetable on his full return, but hopeful it’ll be before the season.
-- Notes that if he was only an OC and not the head coach, he wouldn’t have a smile on his face today.
-- “There was some good, there was some bad” in terms of decision-making from the QBs. Says he will need another scrimmage to make a decision on the starter.

No they haven't. Stop being a dumbass. I must have missed the "bashing" posts against Gatewood. I have been seeing a few people question weather he is as good of a passer as Nix but zero bashing. I think everyone here wants the best guy to play regardless of who it is.
I personally have been wanting Gatewood due to the ability to run power with him. Plus his extra year under the coaches. But if Nix can do better, play him. Nothing personal against Gatewood.
You cant act like a tool in every post and expect anyone to take you seriously. Nobody is bashing Gatewood here.
Now, go frick off

Also have to remember that the zone read was pretty much unavailable for the offense.

No, you frick off. You act like a damn idiot if anyone dares to criticize our mediocre HC. Your shtick has gotten old.
