If no other program is sniffing Durkin for an HC job...leave it to Auburn to pick up a turd, dust it off, and convince themselves they can polish it.
Look at the market, look at the resume, some coaches are coordinators for life.

If Durkin goes 3-0 or 2-1 I say keep him.

I think Durkin is on the job interviewing as they are out looking at other candidates. I think he would have to win out to have a good shot. Have to be careful with interims. Don't think just beating Vandy and Mercer would be convincing enough, but if he also beats Bama, they are one of the top teams around and that would be something you would have to consider.
Definitely wouldn't look for a quick decision this year. It will probably be a while. If it is a quick decision, then it is most likely Durkin or one of the G5 candidates.
