Didn't realize the full extent of his work down here

So that’s the calculus. The premier big 10 jobs are taken. Doubt he wants Wisky. tOSU is taken for as long as Day wants it at this pace. Michigan is the only wild card, IMO. No way ND (not big 10, but in that region) moves quick on Freeman. They give everyone too long. Double Franklin is going anywhere either

Fickel will leave Cinci. Just wonder if Auburn fits. I hope it does

Agreed. Just don't see him coming, he has earned the right to be very picky. The jobs you'd assume he'd be most interested in are filled with successful guys, or guys just hired.

To take the next step, he is going to have to go somewhere. Someone is going to come along and offer to double his salary.

Could see Wisconsin before Nebraska, but Wisconsin always seems to promote from within

Yeah, he ain’t coming. That’s why I don’t really entertain that idea.

There are greater odds of hiring Tuberville back before Fickell.

I hate to say it, but it's going to be Grimes. Kiffin too much money up front, Freeze too much off field baggage (which I don't personally care about), and Deion too unknown and scary to the PTB

I’d say Freeze

I'm quickly beginning to hope you're right. Kiffin and Deion aren't realistic options. Freeze by far the best of the realistic options. And if he wants to be at Auburn like someone said last night, that's a plus

Speaking of Fickell I think he’s happy where he is for now. I also think Ryan Day is gonna be the next college guy to the NFL and Fickell slides right in at Ohio st.

That sounds about right. Grimes’ offense sucks so bad and PTB will be babysitting his moves by his second year. If Grimes likes his reputation, he waits for Iowa. They expect that shite there.

I don't think the NFL will dip into the college coaches as often as in the past. Day is one I could see getting that chance. Maybe Dabo and Riley maybe too. Harbaught might?

That's a great fit. If Aranda leaves would Baylor promote him?

I want the guy the PTB and boosters want, will support, and most importantly trust enough to leave him the frick alone. Is that guy Freeze?

Yes Freeze is the guy most of the PTB want.

I just hope we at least try to go for Fickell

I think we would go for freeze because we would get him at a discount compared to other coaches. That’s the only reason why I can see that happening, logically. But then again the people in charge haven’t done much logically when it comes to hiring HCs

Once hired, would they leave him alone to do his job how he sees fit?

It will get to a point where Freeze is as obvious the hire as Pearl was. Hopefully they see past the off field crap

All coaches have been left alone to do their jobs until needed to be told to do otherwise.

When you leave a coach to make every decision on their own you get schmeddy and Keys as your OC/DC.

Would you rather your boss tell you hey we need this report done every Thursday that you have been completing on Friday for years or just fire you?

For those that don’t understand the AD is the boss of the athletic department that in no way means he is the real boss of the head coaches at Auburn or any other big time sports program

That's more obvious at Auburn than anywhere
