The ball isn’t the reason we lost but there’s definitely a difference in feel between brands.

I think there should be a universal brand. It’s insane that there’s not

The ball doesn’t matter these kids shot with shitty basketballs since middle school. Stop with that

I'm sure as much as the boys shoot there is a different feel. But the players really never mention it. I know Zep or Wen said something about the grip but didn't really complain just said it was different.

If it's as different as a regular leather ball and that grippy arse Under Armour ball they came out with about 4-5 years ago I could see it being a problem. It'd stick to my hand so much it was like I was pushing shooting and not rotating off my fingers. Kind of the opposite you would think with a better grip

I subscribe to theory just a little bit. We are still a below average shooting team without Jabari don't get me wrong. I agree with you that shooters shoot but it makes more of a difference with guys who aren't great shooters. Jabari could shoot with a rock or a baseball or a soccer ball or a volleyball and he'd hit 40% from three. Just one of those guys.

When I was a hoops manager at Auburn the guys bitched constantly about the Nike balls. Glad it doesn't make it to press though because it's a bad look to complain about it.

Nike balls thing aside, I do think road teams are at too much of a disadvantage in college hoops these days. But I think it's almost entirely due to refereeing. Many teams strengths are damaged greatly by few tough calls on the road.

It's always been hard to beat good teams on the road. We just notice more now since interest is higher. There may be some statically difference now as compared to the past but to me it's always seemed to be hard in conference to win road games. UK used to go through the conference and only lose 1-2 games but there were probably on 1-2 teams with enough talent to even compete. Now there are 6-8 decent teams with talent every year.

Only Duke could be sitting at 4 in the AP right now. I don't really care that we fell to 5, doesn't matter at this point, but Arizona not being punished for getting dominated by a bubble NIT team is interesting.

About what I expected. The computers hate us but we have a tough schedule and haven't gotten blown out. Surprised Baylor jumped that many spots. Murray State keeps winning and drops.

A ton of movement by March 13th. Next 2 weeks.

I don't want in the same bracket as Duke regardless of seed or how good or not good I think they may be. Coach K will get every call in every game going forward.

Totally agree in avoiding Duke in the tourney. They are very talented and K will get royal treatment from refs. That being said, it would be an awesome honor to end his career if it comes to that.

I agree. Would much rather some other team knock them off and we meet up in the final against Gonzaga or sumn just to slap em down. (Assuming we make it that far of course)

Either way if we hold serve and Duke holds serve 1 of us will be the 1 and the other the 2 in the Greenville region is my guess.

CorchJay's week 17 rankings are.

Duke
Auburn
Kentucky
Baylor
Arizona
Purdue
Kansas
Villanova
Providence (yes i know they beat Nova still think Nova is better)
Gonzaga (probably overrated at 10)

Yall throw down your top 10's or slay my opinion either one

I’d personally go:
1. AU
2. Zags
3. Kentucky (if healthy)
4. Duke
5. Kansas
6. Baylor
7. Arky
8. Arizona
9. UT
10. Nova

Not disagreeing with you but why Gonzaga so high? I think they are extremely overrated. I know they have paid their dues over the years and the past 5 or so years have been rewarded but I think they are overrated this year. No disrespect to their program.

dang we fell to 5 in the latest AP poll. We need a few good wins in the SEC tourney to get back to a #1 seed. I do not want to be in the same bracket as Duke, you know the NCAA will do what it can to help Coach K go out on top.

I thought Gonzaga was being overrated when everyone was discussing them as being in a tier of their own. However I do think they are very solid and reliable team with some limitations. Timme will feast on most teams and their guards are smart even if they won't win you games. Holmgren is a pretty good rim protector unless you have some bullies down there. Gonzaga needs to avoid Illinois.

If we play Gonzaga on a neutral court I think we bully ball them and win by 20+

It makes me mad that they lose in a crap conference and hold #1.

They’d have as many losses as we do if not more playing in the SEC.

And don’t get me started on the Big 10 projecting 9 tournament teams when they haven’t won a championship since 2000.
