Auburn is up 4-0 in the B5 after a 3 run HR from Conor Davis. Mize is apparently dealing as well. 11k’s in five innings with multiple strikeouts in each inning.

Middle of the 7th and the score is now 4-1. Mize gave up a HR and then retired the next three. K count is at 13.

Mize works a perfect frame and fans his career-high 14th batter - the most by an Auburn pitcher since 1999.

Everything I see is that Mize is the odds-on favorite to be the #1 pick in the upcoming MLB draft.
So, if that comes to pass, Auburn in the 3 major sports would have:
NFL - multiple overall #1's (Frederickson, Jackson, Bruce, Newton)
MLB - Mize
NBA - highest Auburn choice is he who shall not be named that was an assistant for Pearl who was taken 4th overall
What other SEC school could match that? LSU maybe?
By the way, the 6 players drafted prior to Big Frank? SP Ben McDonald (Orioles), C Tyler Houston (Braves), SP Roger Salkeld (Mariners), OF Jeff Jackson (Phillies), OF Donald Harris (Rangers), and OF Paul Coleman (Cardinals).
Oh, the GM of the Braves who passed on one of the best hitters in MLB history who played at Auburn, right down I-85 from Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium?

Been saying this all year. Guy is as complete a pitcher as I’ve seen come thru here. fricking pissed I didn’t watch all of this. Tomorrow for sure. Imagine if we had him Burns and Thompson.
