I said he should drive the lane and pass to the open man more. You know, "setting the table" for other and being a "catalyst" for the offense.

I'm afraid we were oversold on how good Purifoy is.

Purifoy just plays basketball like an 11 YO right now. He'll figure it out, just will need time clearly

My bad, I thought you were being sarcastic and disagreeing

Dunans problem scoring off the drive is when the rim defender sells out to defend Dunans. If he passed more and the rim defender was more consistently late, Dunans would be legit AF

Exactly. And when Wiley doesn't get into foul trouble it can be deadly because Wiley can finish around the rim consistently (something Spencer struggles with).

McElmore can finish and shows more promise than Wiley right now.

Wiley is having problem with his hands and can't catch a lot of quality passes. McElmore can catch and understands to go straight up strong

We love McElmores rebounding so much it is easy to overlook he has score 9+ in 4 of past 6 games. That's pretty insane given how we don't talk much about his O game

Purifoy has only made 25 two point shots all year. He's 25/60. Laron Smith has made almost as many and played 336 fewer minutes.

McLemore is shooting 71.4% from the floor. Damn.

He doesn't have A-Mac's brains. He's smart if you haven't heard. You could be on to something with Wiley's hands. I thought it was mental, but his hands seem short for a guy his size. You always see him two-handing everything. The missed free throws tell that he's putting too much pressure on himself.

I think he is still adjusting to the speed and strength difference between hs and college. His hands were good in the first bama game and against tcu. He doesn't quite know when to hold his position and when to move toward the ball. Also, he isn't getting a ton of great pass, though he has fumbled a handful that should have been good enough.

I agree on mclemore. He doesn't quite have the touch Wiley does and doesn't finish as well against the bigs as Wiley, but he has been playing very well.

I hope we can find a way for them to work in the game together for a few minutes each game to help with rebounding. Obviously not as a primary lineup, but just to go big every now and then.

Wiley just isn't there yet rebounding.

Just to put it in perspective, Daniel Purifoy defensively rebounds at roughly the same rate as Wiley

So I like how Pearl is trying to pump up Alabamas basketball as well.

Games like Louisville/UK , UNC/Duke are huge draws for attention on the programs even in down years. Obviously we won't be at that level but getting more mainstream TV coverage and attention would be huge for both teams

So I keep wanting to compare what Bryce Brown should play like/potential to Melo Trimble at Maryland

Honestly, if he can continue to develop he could be like a KT Harrell lite but more athletic. I don't think he will be that level of shooter/touch around he rim, but no reason he can't have a similar and good game.

It's VERY common for bigs to have issues with their hands, especially when they're still young. They're still adjusting to their bodies being so big, and just have some trouble with coordination as they adjust. I mentioned it during the game, but imagine how small the ball must feel in his hands compared to how it's felt for most of his life? That's got to be a weird feeling and make it awkward to handle. That's also going to effect his FT shooting, which has been very inconsistent. I think he'll adjust, but it'll probably be something that happens during practice over the offseaosn and into the beginning of next season.

So MSU is about as bad at rebounding as Auburn is, in particular they aren't great offensive rebounding. Considering that is how we get killed in nearly all our losses that has to be good

Hopefully we can beat the MS schools here and get ourselves in position for 20W regular season
