Alpine, kids in high level travel ball r throwing 90+ regular. Heck, a couple HS in Ga have there 3 90 mph + as their rotation.
These Ole Miss guys have been seeing that for yrs so to get them out u got to work slider, change ups, sinkers to really be effective. Look at Barco at UF and Sanders at USC

quote:Makes sense. In the mid-90's while I was at AU you'd have maybe 1-2 guys on good SEC staffs that could hit low 90's. IMO, all the more reason to teach a two-seam fastball/sinker since everyone sees that speed every weekend. We couldn't even keep Ole Miss in the ball park this weekend. I lost count of the dingers they hit.

jangalang, I used to use a lot of glove oil with my catchers mitts. Made the leather more malleable and shorter time to break in. Makes the glove heavy though.

A2000 is going to take time to break in and will typically stay a like stiffer than gloves made with lower quality leather. It will keep its shape and avoid becoming a pancake which will have it last many years.

I still have my a2000 from high school from ab 20 years ago now. Best glove ever made.

I thought going into the season and even voiced it on here we would be a hitting team just depended on if we could find 2 weekend starters. Looks like we really have none.
