No doubt we have more information and data than ever before but “analytics” has got to be the most overused phrase in commentary these days. Sometimes a coach just wants to go for it on a feeling

but to the point, it seems that ONE of the top 3 on the coaching search uses it a lot. implemented expertly? I have thought not several times - the going for it on 4th down and medium on your own of the field being the worst. used by Kiffen AND Harsin too much, Gus once or twice too

I’m more of a feel kind of guy. Not that analytical choices are bad but if I know my right side of the line has been dominant in the run game against the team we are playing I probably go for on forth and short to the right side.

Every coach has different characteristics. Many different ways to win football games
