you realize that Bisaccia hasn't coached running backs but one year in the past 12 or 13 years right?
He still has some really good experience. I definitely wouldnt say its a downgrade. I also wouldnt say its a huge upgrade either.

I would call it a downgrade too. Luper was a really good coach IMO.

HC Lateral move until Malzahn proves he can win
DC Upgrade on the college level right now.
OC Probably downgrade but both were unproven so you could say lateral
WR Upgrade IMO.
RB Downgrade
TE Lateral
OL Downgrade IMO
DL Upgrade
LB Not sure
CB Not sure. Martinez was improving the secondary if they could have played them tighter. I will say upgrade
S Again, I will say upgrade
The way I see it right now.....JMO
HC-Upgrade
DC-Upgrade
OC-Upgrade
WR-Upgrade
RB-Push
TE-Push
OL-Push
DL-Upgrade
LB-Upgrade (Ellis will improve this bunch)
CB-Upgrade
S-Upgrade
This staff should recruit very well, but I don't think any AU staff will match what the past staff did (rankings wise).

On what? His fricking recruiting? Good job. Again. How did EJ Manuel develop? You do realize DC had other duties than just recruiting, right?
Yes I fricking know that dipshit he was the QB coach. And he was decent. And you didnt bother to quote my whole statement. He said himself he has to learn Gus' offense and prob wouldnt be calling most of the plays. Him as a WR coach is pretty solid IMO.
quote:
Let's hire Thigpen, Pelton, and Trooper back. They're all great fricking recruiters.
Where are you getting Pelton is a good recruiter? Name one top prospect this dude has landed on the defensive side of the ball. Your arguement to hire back TPT back is fricking dumb.
quote:
The same thing everyone bitched about the last staff. "Bunch of recruiters and no development."
I know you are trying to play this "hypocrite" card, but the fact of the matter is you need recruiters. Chizik obviously is not a good head coach and couldn't develop the talent at hand. Im not putting all the blame on the position coaches but Malzahn decided he needed a fresh new staff he's comfortable with. I feel like this has already been discussed.

I'm glad you pay attention to recruiting.

Carl lawson ?@CarlCarltp Coach Pelton was a great coach and a great man. I now he would've been a great D line coach
First off, thats one freaking recruit that he didnt sign. To be a great recruiter, you have to prove you can sign multiple top prospects as well as pick up some underrated talent. Who has he signed thats great? Pelton as a D line coach was terrible. And FYI I already knew Lawson liked Pelton.
quote:
Well done Craig. You made EJ quite the QB.
Not all QBs can be freaking superstars. Are you serious right now? The kid still won a decent amount of games at QB including 12 in his final year. 25-6 as starter.

You left off "in the weak-arse ACC." It's a requirement around the SECrant.
Brandon Cox won a decent amount of games in career including 11 in his JR year. Manuel was the #2 QB coming out of HS. A top 50 player. 247 has him as a 5* #27 player in the country. No one would EVER say he played like his ranking. He played as well as Brandon Cox in a weaker conference. So, technically, he played worse than Brandon Cox did at Auburn.
Cox never won a conference championship or BCS bowl as a QB or four straight bowls. I liked Cox though. EJ will still get drafted, probably later rounds though. Comparing Cox and Maunuel is pretty stupid too. Both completely different types of QBs. EJ compares to Josh Freeman of TB. Cox...
quote:
hope you never said Lawson was our most important commitment on here
Never said those exact words but what difference does that make? He obviously is an important recruit for us and we need to land him. Every other school is trying to as well. But Pelton still has't sign him.
quote:
Well, since he's only been apart of one fricking signing class where we only targeted 2 DL, I'm going to say a 4 star Tyler Nero and a 3 star Gimel President (Parade All-American, who everyone was high on when he committed)
Whoa groundbreaking shite right there, those two are some BIG time recruits and will surely turn around our shite defense. Seriously though, we havent seen these guys take the field yet so this is a mute point. Jury is still out. I still think they are average recruits. Time will tell if they can make an impact on our line. Also Nero was recruited by both luper and Pelton.
quote:And how long ago was that?
He was the DL coach at Troy when DeMarcus Ware committed.
Bottom line hes not a great recruiter. Maybe a good one, but you said great.

Bisaccia coached RB's
2000 & 2001 Ole Miss
2008 Tampa Bay
I love the debate this thread has caused. So many different opinions. I bet everybody is going to be right about something.

He coached running backs at Ole Miss but left back in 2000 or 2001 or something and the only notable backs he coached there was Deuce McAllister. He never had another back of any note from any time before either.
At South Carolina he coached All-SEC runningbacks Brandon Bennett and Rob DeBoer. Bennett finished his USCar career as the second leading rusher in school history behind only Heisman winner George Rogers. Bennett holds the single-game rushing record at Carolina with his 278-yard effort against East Tennessee State in 1991. He also holds the school record for most career catches by a running back, with 111 career receptions (as of 2011).
At Clemson he coached 3-time All-ACC runningback Raymond Priester. Priester set 18 school rushing records, and is the school's all-time leading rusher with 3,966 career rushing yards.
So to re-cap:
@ South Carolina: 2nd leading rusher in school history (Brandon Bennett)
@ Clemson: Leading rusher in school history (Raymond Priester)
@ Ole Miss: Leading rusher in school history (Deuce McAllister)

Basically, every player from the past 4 classes looks like an average to below average recruit. Congrats on the groundbreaking development. Those 4/5stars Trooper/Luper/Grimes reeled in have really shown on the field, huh? BIG time recruits that have really turned Auburn into a powerhouse, no?
Ok what about Pelton's recruits?
You know I would love to hear your explanation of what went down instead of posting sarcastic bullshite comments. You obviously act like you know it all. I've stated several times my opinion on the matter.
Explain why the top prospects weren't developed? Was it Chiz or the position coaches or both?
quote:
No shite? Really?
You think these recruits aren't recruited by more than one coach? You believe rivals coaching recruiting profiles?
Huh? Look man I know you are trying real hard to make me look stupid but everyone who follows recruiting knows this shite. I was pointing out it was not all Pelton's doing.
quote:
Well, in that case. Rodney Garner sucks. And apparently only 5 coaches in America are actively recruiting Carl Lawson.
Yea did I say Garner sucks? Now you are just being ridiculous. This guy has years of experience recruiting solid recruits to UGA and putting them into the NFL.
quote:
And Pelton also got a commitment from Dee Liner. Yup. Commitments from 2 5*s. According to Rivals, Auburn's only signed 4 5stars over the past 4 classes. 2 of them aren't even on the team anymore and the other has cancer. Yeah, he sucks. All those other recruiters really bringing in the talent.
Whoa big shite, he got commitments, it doesn't mean shite. Dee is about to flip to Bama and that been in the works for several months it appears and Carl will probably flip as well. :inb4shittyseasoncoachingchange:
Pelton is an average recruiter, end of discussion.
His last class of DL commits were below average IMO.
Why do you keep beating around the bush here? Post what you think of the hires instead of insinuating people are frickin hypocrites. This E-fight is getting old and you haven't proven shite to me so far.

I believe its silly to grade any of these guys before:
1. National Signing Day. Lets see who they pull in and who we keep.
2. First season. How can you judge a staff before they even have had spring practice?

I wanted Petrino, but after that Gus was the next best choice. We needed an Offensive mind and the only other coach that has Gus's reputation as an Offensive Genius would have been Chip Kelly. Gus was the star of Gene's coaching staff and most AU fans would have replaced Gene with Gus after 2010. My only reservation with Gus was his ability to hire a staff that could recruit. I think he far exceeded any expectation with his coaching hires. If EJ can turn the D around, I do not think anyone doubts that AU will have one of the top 5 Offenses in the SEC. I had to eat my words, but Gus has made all the right moves so far.
