One comment in the article states "It's as if he was killing people who wanted to kill us simply because we are Christian..."

It is not "as if", It IS. Anyone not bowing to shariah law dies. Even the atheists, who thought they were going to "opt out" of the party!

I am very good friends with a former Marine sniper that enjoyed his job. He actually went back as a sniper for a private firm to Afghanistan for two years. He is the most interesting, cocky, confident person I have met. If the man decides he will do something he will.

He wanted to get a law degree and went and got one, he wanted to be a pilot in Alaska and is now doing just that. I am happy to say he is a close friend and I do not say I wish someone was dead in any form with him around. I have a fear that he would do so out of his friendship to me.

One day me and another friend went to go see him early one morning in Colorado. On the way up to Blackhawk, CO where he was working we saw a mountain sheep without a head on the shoulder of the road. When we arrived to see him he took us over to his truck and lifted a tarp to display the head of the sheep. He made them into mugs for beer. The dude is fricking unreal.

Appreciate the kind words from you all and I will pass the thanks along. Having heard the boy's response to the thanks they receive i will go ahead and give you their response. "Thanks for working and paying your taxes so i get paid for doing this."

Thanks for the offer, but we are good. this is not the family's first deployments. my oldest smiled when he found out he would be at a base instead of an outpost this time. "no crapping in a bag and burning it" :)

Heard the movie was amazing, but isn't this also the guy who got drunk and made up a bar story about how he beat the shite out of Jesse Ventura and then got sued and lost because it was just a bullshite bar tale?

Good deal. Make sure he has a hard drive for storing movies and such. There will always be movies and hard drives floating around on the base so he can download thousands of movies for free, including movies that have not yet came out stateside. I was Infantry and we only had about 4 missions a week, so the hard drive full of movies came in handy!

Good Luck to him

Another writer, who is pissed off substantiated facts aren't being used, uses unsubstantiated facts to help frame their argument...

Thanks for making writers look bad, Alex.

Yikes, I won't argue too much but for the cast and press American Sniper got, I thought it was pretty bad. The Imitation Game was beautifully written, acted, and filmed. American Sniper was all over the place and very VERY poorly written. Not saying you are but I feel like the majority of people acting like its a top film are the "Murica!!!" crowd

I think it's not guaranteed to even get nominated for best picture, although I think it will. Best picture will go to imitation game, boyhood, or my wildcard: whiplash.

I hope Whiplash will at least get JK Simmons a best supporting actor nod

The book wasn't that well written either. It was very interesting, but jumpy and somewhat repetitive. Kyle obviously isn't a writer, but the publisher should have done more to clean it up and make it flow better.

I could definitely see where you are coming from with this

War, guns, and death vs drama. Murica!!!

I read the book and it was interesting, but as you said, not the best written in the world.

This is the guy who got killed by a student of his on a firing range somewhere?
