Our P is horrible. Walks, P sequences etc. u cannot let the #9 hitter get two HR and 7 RBI’s by the 3rd inning.

It’s gonna be a long season.

Might be time to fire the new pitching coach and I’m never for firings. We have plenty of experienced pitching coaches unless Butch just doesn’t want to be as hands on but this new analytics guy hasn’t started off very well.

Need to start working in some of the young arms in some weekend starts. I just don’t see this team going .500 plus in conference the rest of the season.

I agree on young arms but not sure on P coach. What could he be doing that is so bad with all of the people he has around him? I agree it ain’t working!

Sometimes when you have 3 pitching coaches like we essentially do it’s to many voices and to much “over coaching” which in a lot of instances makes player be robotic in mechanics and over think everything running all the voices through their heads.

??. Sad thing is our pitchers are regressing. We had some older guys that we hoped to step up but instead they have gone backwards this yr.

Baseball has never changed no matter how much we want it to. Pound the strike zone differing the eyes of the battle with the fast ball. In and out up and down but in the zone. Gotta stay out of middle middle.

After command of the fast ball you need some type of different movement on the ball whether that be a harder slider or a curve, change up, cutter, splitter. If you can master a 3rd or even 4th pitch in college great but in reality you only need 2.

So for the entire pitching group get back to pounding the fast ball. Hitting your zones. Until then we are going to continue to give up big innings and homeruns because you are chasing strikes and chasing the strike zone

And to tie it back into the new analytics style… the analytics say you pitch this guy low and slow. And you keep throwing that and you’re throwing the pitchers 3rd best pitch. Leads to walks, behind in the count, etc.

There has always been a “scout” of hitters. That’s no different but not varying your analytics becomes predictable. By game 2 you know how the pitching staff is going to go after you.

18-13 Auburn in a battle with 13-16 Alabama St.
1-1 bottom 7. Pretty even match up.

Crotchfelt came in and stunk it up. Just gave up another solo shot.

Oh couldn't recall it all happened so fast. Commentators said hitting hasn't been a problem just the pitching. We've only got 3 hits thru 8. I think it's both.

They’ve hit about 8 shots to deep center…all outs.

We're just a bad baseball team and there's only one man that can fix it.
