This is interesting. Tennessee 247 reporting that Wanya Morris visited AU this past week with his mom. KN says that when you include his upcoming OV Morris has spent 8 days in AU this month.....

KN also says that right now not sure 4* WR Ramel Keyton is a take for AU so with him deciding next month the Vols look to be the likely destination

Also Bud Elliott CB'd Kobe Hudson to AU

Could be an epic stretch for AU

- UMASS grad transfer OT Jack Driscoll plans to commit Wed/Thu
- 2020 4* WR Kobe Hudson announces commitment Friday
- 4* ATH Jaylin Simpson & 4* ATH Jashawn Sheffield visit this weekend & both could commit
- 4* OT Wanya Morris & 4* TE Luke Deal takes OVs this weekend
- May 1st 5* LB Owen Pappoe & 4* OT Wanya Morris announce commitments

Either gonna be a lot of fun or some melting in the coming days

KN put up an insider this morning. Here's summary

- KN expects 4* ATH Jaylin Simpson to commit while visiting AU this weekend with his mom. Tigers are recruiting him at CB. His teammate 4* ATH Jashawn Sheffield is also visit but as of today wants to wait a bit longer. But KN says a good visit could possibly get him to pull the trigger

- 4* CB Christian Williams committed to Bama last week but still plans to take all his OVs. One will be to AU. He also spoke highly of recent AU commit Cordale Flott. says he's faced him quite a bit & that his length makes him tough to handle as a WR. KN does not see Williams flipping from Bama

- Apparently KN talked with an SEC assistant who has worked for both MS schools. KN told him that AU, UF & others were hoping to get some kids out of MS & assistant said "good luck". Doesn't think many kids will leave that state

- Says 4* OT Wanya Morris's quiet visit this past week could not be viewed as anything other than positive for AU. KN's not ready to CB Morris to AU but sounds like he's heading that direction due to all the visits Morris has made to AU recently

- An interesting extra nugget on 4* DE Charles Moore who has AU in his top 2 with MSST. Apparently he speaks often with Derrick Brown. KN says Brown has been on of AU's most active player recruiters since he stepped on campus

Someone asked Keith about the WR board with the news that Keyton plans to commit soon but doesn't sound like AU ready to take him (wish they would, think he's a stud). Mentioned 4* WR Jalen Curry (TX), 4* ATH Dannis Jackson (MS) * 4* WR John Dunmore (FL) as 3 names to keep an eye on. KN thinks that if AU doesn't push for Keyton means they feel good about somebody else but he isn't sure who that might be

Curry keeps mentioning AU in his top group (was in Knoxville this past weekend & told TN 247 we were one of his top schools) but he's yet to visit. Jackson is close with Nathan Pickering so wouldn't mind working on another package deal (Jackson is a legit talent so wouldn't be bad to just have him). Dunmore seems all FSU to me

Read UGA 247 updates this morning. Rusty says not ready to make any CB changes on Owen Pappoe but reiterates it's close

Barton Simmons put Pickens in his top 5 offensive performers at Opening in Nashville
quote:

5. George Pickens, WR, Hoover (Ala.) HS – Pickens attended the Nashville Elite 11 regional after already being one of the top receivers at the Atlanta event. He had one of the day’s best showings once again. In terms of frame, nobody was more impressive than Pickens and then the Auburn commit went out and had some of the most flash plays of any receiver.

Because I really do not know. How can current players influence and talk with recruits and it not be considered a violation? Isn't a player considered a booster or something like that? Been meaning to ask this.

Not sure of the official NCAA stance on this, but I would imagine it would be almost impossible to prevent current players from forming/maintaining friendships with prospects if there aren't any impermissible benefits involved.

I don't see how they can stop it either, but that's not my question.

They aren't considered boosters. Players basically have an all access to recruit players the school is looking at since the players & recruits will play together most of the time with recruits if the recruit chooses that school. To my knowledge there is no rules limiting current player access to recruits. Players become "like recruits" as you say after they leave the program. Their contact then becomes much more restrictive unless they have something like a 7 on 7 program like Cam does or are a coach with a preexisting relationship w/ the recruit.

So both KN and Callahan for Tennessee 247 have updates on Morris

KN says there's a chance that Morris might not take OV this weekend to AU and Vols appear to have regained momentum

Callahan says Vols believe AU is team to beat heading into his OV to AU this weekend and that Tigers have some real momentum

So in summary. AU insider thinks it's Tennessee. Tennessee insider thinks it's AU

Maybe he has already made up his mind that AU is his school and doesn’t need to officially visit?

We never sign anyone. Honestly, we don’t! Find me one player we signed worth a damn...I’ll hang up and wait.

This is possible with him already being in AU 8 days this month & made 3 other visits to AU this year as well.

Fwiw it's currently 5 days in April. KN was including his OV which is in jeopardy for that 8 number

Rusty over at UGA 247 seems smugly confident that UGA will land Pappoe but did admit that AU is working to get him back on campus this week & that's something to watch.

Despite the not so great news coming out last night haven't seen any CB changes. Will be very interesting to see if AU can get either Morris or Pappoe back on campus one final time
