KN still has pick on AU & TEN guys have yet to put a pick in. Honestly sounds like at most it's 51/49 Vols. We will see what happens but not sure either team should feel that confident right now

Auburn’s No. 1 recruiting priority in Class of 2019 (SECCountry)
quote:
As is often the case, the top recruiting priorities are dependent on the top misses in the last class.
In the 2018 class, there were two position groups that could fall into the “miss” category. Auburn’s two primary disappointments in 2018 came at tackle and cornerback. The Tigers swung and missed on tackle targets such as Dylan Wonnum and Richard Gouraige. Their top cornerback targets landed at Alabama and Clemson in the form of Jalyn Armour-Davis and Kyler McMichael.
The cornerback situation was salvaged somewhat with the additions of Christian Tutt and Roger McCreary. At tackle, there were no 2018 solutions.
Still, when I look at the 2018 season depth chart, the bigger future concerns I see are at cornerback, not tackle.
Sure, Auburn didn’t land any tackles in the last class, and the Tigers missed on their top graduate-transfer tackle in Calvin Anderson. But when you look at how things are shaping up in spring practice, the immediate future of the tackle position isn’t a major concern.
Prince Tega Wanogho and Calvin Ashley are shaping up nicely at left tackle and right tackle, though the Tigers continue to evaluate other grad-transfer tackle options. Redshirt freshman Austin Troxell has caught the attention of many on the offensive staff, as well.
When you scan the Auburn defensive backfield, however, there are more glaring holes.
Auburn has run a few defensive drills during media practice availability this spring. The first-team corners are Javaris Davis and Jamel Dean, a solid foundation for the 2018 season. But as you look toward the future, the second-team corners were Tutt, a freshman, and Noah Igbinoghene, a receiver who recently switched to corner.
To me, the depth at that position provides more long-term concerns than at tackle or anywhere else on the roster.
Here are the top five corners the Tigers are in the hunt to land:
4-star Christian Williams, Daphne, Ala.
4-star Kaiir Elam, North Palm Beach, Fla.
4-star Devin Bush, New Orleans
4-star Brandon Turnage, Oxford, Ala.
4-star DJ Turner II, Suwanee, Ga.

How Auburn football program has used newfound basketball success to help recruit (SECCountry)
quote:
How Auburn football program has used newfound basketball success to help recruit
For the first time in 15 years, Auburn won an NCAA Tournament basketball game.
The Tigers have battled their way through plenty of adversity to capture the hearts of Auburn fans everywhere. Bruce Pearl’s team has grabbed the attention of the top basketball programs across the country, but the heavy interest hasn’t stopped on the hardwood. Not on the Plains, at least.
Gus Malzahn and the Auburn football program took notice early in the season that the Tigers basketball success could be used for football recruiting gain. A few of the official visitors late in December were able to attend basketball games, as were the January official visitors.
The basketball role has had a bigger influence on the 2019 class than the 2018 class, however.
Many of the 2019 visitors are getting their first taste of Auburn fandom through the Saturday arena environment. There will be no more home games this year to host prospects, but several have already experienced it during the first three months of the year.
Several Auburn recruits mentioned the basketball environment after visits — and how it plays a role in their view of the Tigers.
Here are the basketball-related reactions among football recruits:
“Oh, I loved the atmosphere. I want a family feel to the university. They tell me it’s a family. Everybody is a family around here. The way the football team was supporting the basketball team, it was cool.” — 5-star LB Nakobe Dean, Horn Lake, Miss.
“The atmosphere was above the roof. It was loud, real loud.” — 3-star CB Raydarious Jones, Horn Lake, Miss.
“It was the first basketball game I’ve been to in college. It was a great atmosphere.” — 3-star Florida LB commit Jammal Abrams
“It’s a nice fan base. I went to the basketball game and noticed they have a great fan base. Nice people, nice coaches.” — 4-star WR Dannis Jackson
“It’s little things with Auburn, like how everyone was just hanging out at the basketball game, all the coaches and players and everything. You can get a feel for a school and their fans at a game like that even if you know football games are a lot different.” — 3-star TE Sean Brown
“The basketball game stood out from this visit. They’ve never been a basketball school, at least as far as I’ve ever heard of. The basketball team, they’re doing good right now and the fans are doing their part.” — 4-star Auburn 2020 DL commit Andy Boykin
“It was a great atmosphere at the basketball game. You don’t see that everywhere.” — 3-star Miami OL commit Kingsley Eguakun
“I love the environment, the atmosphere. Everybody is happy. It feels special here. The highlight for me was everything, but the basketball game, that was really good. That just shows me the energy the fans have around here.” — 4-star RB John Emery
“I went to the basketball. Basketball was a loud environment, and I know it will be on Saturday nights [in the fall], too.” — 3-star TE Luke Deal

So in all the craziness of March Madness missed a big insider from KN. Here's summary
- Apparently Pappoe to UGA is far from a done deal. In fact, KN says he's close to switching his CB to "foggy". Apparently the T-WILL factor is HUGE but also his family loves Auburn. Also says don't completely count out Nebraska just yet
- Big weekend ahead for AU recruiting especially for kids out of Mississippi. 5* LB Nakobe Dean is already planning on visiting along with teammate 3* CB Raydarious Jones. Now recent LSU decommit 4* DE Jaren Handy is expected to visit too. He told Bama 247 the big thing that stands out with AU is that they talk family a bunch. Also recent MSST decommit 4* ATH Diwun Black will visit as well. That's 4 of the top players in state of MS expected to visit for the 24th
- Auburn is recruiting 4* Jaelin Humphries as a DT & are a major factor. The change at early PT is a major selling point along with relationship with Derrick Brown. Brown is apparently a local legend in Humphries area so having him trying to help recruit Humphries is big. UGA is the leader but AU is the race

KN also confirmed that 4* CB Kaiir Elam is trying to visit AU this spring. Greg Brown is really close with his father

KN also had VIP article on 4* ATH Steele Chambers this morning. AU is apparently recruiting him as a LB & are a very high on his skillset. He says he has a some interest in AU but needs to see more of the program before putting them in his top group. He's also a big time baseball player which makes it hard for him to take visits. T-WILL has been in contact with his parent though during his baseball season. Sounds like he wants to commit in the summer but also admits that baseball season makes it hard to visit & he wants to take his official visits
Honestly sounds like we aren't much of a threat right now but if we can get him on campus that might change.

THE STORYLINE
The 2019 recruiting class is just getting started when it comes to rankings cycles, and there is no five-star quarterback in this group.
That is rare for the Rivals.com rankings as only two classes - in 2010 and 2011 - haven’t had any five-star quarterbacks.
In 2010, Jake Heaps and Phillip Sims were the top two pro-style QBs and Devin Gardner and Robert Bolden were the best dual-threat quarterbacks. The following year, Jeff Driskel and Cody Kessler led the way among pro-style and Braxton Miller and Brett Hundley were tops in the dual-threat rankings.
Every other year, though, there have been five-star quarterbacks.
It could certainly happen this recruiting cycle as well since Auburn commit and Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley’s Bo Nix sits at No. 34, so he has the best chance from a rankings perspective to move into that five-star status. One spot behind Nix is Oklahoma pledge and Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle’s Spencer Rattler, the top-ranked dual-threat QB.
Nix and Rattler are two to watch, but others could definitely emerge through this offseason and into their senior years. Will there be a five-star QB in this class?

FIRST TAKE: CHAD SIMMONS, RIVALS.COM RECRUITING ANALYST
“Nix is already elite. He has really separated himself from the group in my states. He has that ‘it’ factor. He’s a winner, he’s a leader, he has those intangibles you love to see in a quarterback and he is a pure passer. There aren’t many questions or concerns about his game. His height may be the biggest. He is in that 6-foot-1 range, so he doesn’t have that prototypical size many look for, but he basically checks every other box, so I expect him to stay in the five-star conversation. He’s definitely one of the best in the country at his position.”

quote:
SECOND TAKE: MIKE FARRELL, RIVALS.COM NATIONAL RECRUITING DIRECTOR
"Nix has the best chance. There will be some guys who emerge, but I don’t know if there is a five-star quarterback in this class. We’ve had a couple years where we didn’t have any and those years were justifiable. We didn’t give five stars at the position and none of the players who were close ended up playing like five-stars.
“We’re certainly not going to force the issue. Right now, there isn’t anyone who’s that close, so someone is going to have to really emerge this spring and summer and then have a great senior year to earn that distinction.”

Agreed but I think some of that is the OL board seems to be a little more in flux right now than some other spots. I wouldn't be surprised to see guys like Will Putnam, Darius Thomas and Xaver Truss end up on that list in the near future
