Totally disagree. We wouldn’t have gotten any of those big time OL recruits even if Hand has stayed. Wouldn’t have happened

That’s entirely your opinion and is devoid of facts. The fact of the matter is that we were at the very least heavily involved with those guys and in serious contention when Hand was here, and when he left we fell off their radar.

People can complain all they want about his development and on the field production as a coach. That is more than justified IMO. But let’s not act like he was checked out on the recruiting trail, or that he shouldn’t recruit certain guys because Auburn is after them. He’d be fired from Texas if he told Herman he didn’t want to recruit Anderson because he previously worked for Auburn.

This is all one needs to use as reason for wanting him gone. Keeping him to gain a couple of highly rated recruits will mean nothing if he struggles to develop them. We have lost recruits before due to the exit of a coach.

This is laughable that you should even have to post this for someone. What retard(s) is suggesting this so I can make fun of them.

Wouldn’t have stuck as it turned out staying close to home was most important factor to him

Well for his mom more than him. The guardians have to sign the NLIs too.

Sooo about that 2019 class...It looks like AU is in it for more high rated prospect than years past. Let's hope we land some of them.

In the moment we all wanted to get Anderson, but I am for giving up on this grad transfer thing. It's already a hard 25 limit so it's kind of like limiting yourself willingly. Juco transfers are a little dif, but to burn a limited Scholly for a one year player isn't worth it. Especially since you had 4-5 years of recruiting to avoid the problem. Even if it means taking a chance on the dreaded 3* at least you get 4 years out of them. Maybe if it's a new staff trying to fill in gaps, but Malzhan has had plenty of time to avoid needing to go this route. Look at Bell last year, I wonder what player we had to not sign and have 4 years to develop because we signed a 1 year backup on the OL

Disagree on this specific situation. CA was one of the 5 best pass blockers the past 2 years in college football. He would have won the LT starting job & would have kept Stidham clean from the back side. Now Tega will be the LT & question still remains how well he will protect JS's back side. I don't see JS surviving another sack filled season like last season & make it through serious injury free.

With the current situation that's hard to disagree with. But at some point with the 25 scholarship rule in place it's not good to have to use one on a player for one year. It's easier to swallow when the player you use it on is a Productive starter, that's for sure

Proves my point, Hand is at Auburn for two years, with little development of the line. The one recruit he can put his stamp on is Sammons....and Calvin Anderson.

He can recruit and should recruit anyone where he is employed, Id like for him to not run off a couple of recruits we did have a chance at the week he left, took a flight and had discussions with. (not Anderson).

Four-star corner Devin Bush names top five (247)
quote:

Four-star cornerback Devin Bush from Edna Karr High School in New Orleans named his top five schools Saturday afternoon.

The talented defensive back with an impressive list of offers from across the country has narrowed his choices to, in alphabetical order, a final five of Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Bush as the No. 136 overall recruit nationally in the 2019 recruiting class, as well as the nation's No. 15 cornerback.

The 247Sports Composite also ranks Bush as the No. 7 overall prospect regardless of position in the state of Louisiana.

In addition to his top five schools, Bush has offers from programs such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and several others.

Bush took a hand full of visits in February. He attended a Florida State junior day Feb. 17.

He also unofficially visited Kentucky on Feb. 23 before attending a Tennessee junior day the following day.

As a junior in 2017, Bush played a key role for an Edna Karr team that went 14-1 and won the Louisiana Class 4A state championship.

A look at the top-20 recruits in Alabama (247)
quote:

As you know, Auburn recruits the state of Alabama extremely hard year in and year out.

And, the Tigers not surprisingly have had great success in their backyard.

In recent history, 32.2 percent of all Auburn signees under Gus Malzahn have come from Alabama. That's more than any other state (Georgia is a close second at 30.8 percent), which is what you'd expect.

The 2019 class in Alabama has lots of talent.

At this stage -- and it's still early in the cycle -- two in-state prospects already have five-star ratings in the industry generated 247Sports Composite and 10 more are four-star recruits.

Here's a quick look at the 20 highest-ranked prospects in Alabama and where things stand with regards to Auburn.

Remember, though, it's still very early in the cycle. Auburn's board still is being set. The Tigers very well could prefer some prospects not in the top 20 over many who are before all is said and done. Evaluations are ongoing, and really get into full swing later this spring when coaches can visit high school campuses and watch practice.

No. 1: Clay Webb

The five-star center probably will choose between Auburn and Alabama. The Crystal Ball favors the Tide by a large margin, but the Tigers believe they are very much in it. Webb attended multiple games at Auburn last season and there is a feeling there that he fits into the culture of the program.

4* CB Christian Williams

The four-star cornerback appears to be trending toward the Tide. However, he visited the Tigers earlier this year and that trip went well. Who pushes for him hardest will matter.
