So he wasn’t suspended, and/or sent home more than once before having to go?
Even if it was just alcohol, he and Davis were given opportunities to get the help they needed, and chose substances over their teammates. Call it whatever you want, but he was no leader, and therefore a very sorry QB in big time SEC Football.
He had the keys to a Ferrari, and decided to drive down the wrong ramp onto the wrong side of the interstate. Would make for a great movie. (The “shorter” yard)!

Can we attribute his Clemson commitment to the phone booth issue?

So because he was suspended and/or sent home more than once before leaving, he had a "drug problem"?

Mostly agree with ya there.

Nah, once he fell prey to the injury bug, he was overtaken.

I love this completely fricking wrong narrative you push.
You mean the narrative where he sucked and his record showed that.
Dude was in way over his head. That will never change no matter how many if and s and buts you give Sean. He was not the right guy and never will be.
I told you that from the beginning and you just wouldn't believe me.

In 2016, Sean had a 64% completion rate, 1600+ yards passing, 9 TDs with 3 Ints and a passer rating of 143. Time to accept he wasn't as bad as you wanted him to be
eta: and 2 rushing TDs

He wasn’t as bad as JF3 and JJ, I’ll give you that. He couldn’t deliver the deep ball though and that is one thing that restricts Gus’s offense.

quote:True, but he did get us to the Sugar Bowl even with Gus using 5 Qbs against Clemson and royally fricking up against Georgia and choking the game away.

To me, Sean's biggest knock was his durability

Then show it. Was he a perfect fit for the offense, no but no one has claimed that. But to say he sucked is a falsehood.

He didnt suck Gus just couldn't adapt the offense for him

I have always said that. He was absolutely the best option we had. No doubt. But that does not change the fact that we all wanted him to be better than he was. He was not a SEC calibur QB. He was not the answer to our issue. Neither was JJ. We did not have the answer
I didn't want him to be bad. I could just tell he was not the guy for our system. It was easy to see if you don't use emotion in your decisions
Best option? Absolutely and he did what he could.

This was Gus's fault from the beginning. He should have have been adjusting his offense. He should have gotten the right players from the start. There was no reason to change what was very dominate. It was a dumbass move on Gus's part in my opinion.
