1. AUBURN TIGERS
If you track Jones’ visits over the last two months, it seems as if he has visited Auburn every weekend. Some visits have been reported on, but not all. He is only about an hour from the Plains, so it is easy for him to get there and it would make it simple for his family to see him if he went there. JB Grimes has really been a hit with Jones and his family, and Jones has said many times that he feels at home there.
Ready for him to pull the trigger & jump on board

2. FLORIDA GATORS
What Florida has working in its favor is a family member in Gainesville. Emory Jones is a Gator; he enrolled in January and the two would love to play together in college. John Hevesy has done a nice job here going back to when he coached offensive line at Mississippi State. Jones likes the offensive scheme Florida runs and he sees a chance to play early there as well.
So according to KN Emory & Keiondre aren't actually related. They are just really close friends who grew up together so they refer to each other as cousin

3. MISSISSIPPI STATE BULLDOGS
Just because the Bulldogs rank third on this list, there is no reason to count them out. This is a close race and Mississippi State is very much in it. Joe Moorhead has done an excellent job of making Jones feel like a priority. He and Marcus Johnson have really recruited Jones well and led to the Bulldogs jumping numerous other schools on his list over the last few months. The campus feel, the chance to play and his connection with coaches have put Mississippi State in play here.

Auburn offers OT from Mississippi (Rivals)
quote:
Auburn has targeted another top recruit from Mississippi.
Charles Cross, an offensive tackle from Laurel, received an offer from Auburn Thursday morning. He learned the news during a conversation with area recruiter Marcus Woodson.
“It felt great,” Cross said. “It was a great feeling to get the offer.”
Cross already is familiar with Auburn having visited in the spring.
“Auburn is a great place, a great school with a great football program,” Cross said. “It’s an all-around great school.”
In addition to Auburn, Cross has visited Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Florida State. Each of the schools he’s visited is in his top group.
“I’m really considering Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Florida State,” Cross said. “I like those four schools.”
Cross, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 275 pounds, hopes to make a commitment before the end of the summer. A return trip to Auburn July 28 is a possibility.
“I’ll be back to Auburn,” Cross said.

FWIW a couple things from Hunter48 in The Bunker who has connections to the program. Says the 2 commits Pappoe was talking about that he landed were Andrew Booth & Keiondre Jones. Says he'd bet on 4* DT target Charles Moore sticking with Miss St.

FWIW the Moore note doesn't surprise me. With the momentum State has right now don't see Moore jumping off. However, a bad season or some of those guys flipping might loosen things up for AU. Interested to see if he comes to July 28 recruiting event
Man I hope ppl aren't getting my hopes up on Booth. Him & Pappoe would probably start day 1 vs Oregon

Three-Point Stance: More thoughts on #RivalsChallenge (Rivals)
quote:
Quarterbacks – There were three guys who stood above the rest: Bo Nix, Graham Mertz and Ryan Hilinski. And then there was a bit of a dropoff. Nix was head-and-shoulders above the rest because of the zip on his ball and he had a very good day in drills, one-on-ones and 7-on-7. Mertz was excellent in drills and one-on-ones but struggled a bit in the 7-on-7 portion with his accuracy, while Hilinski was solid in all three areas but wasn’t outstanding in any one portion of the day. However, Auburn, Wisconsin and South Carolina fans should be happy with their three quarterbacks. Sam Howell, a Florida State commitment, was also good especially in the 7-on-7 portion but was a tick behind the big three.

Rival Views: Is there a five-star QB in the 2019 class? (Rivals)
quote:
Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell and National Recruiting Analyst Adam Gorney don’t always see eye to eye. In this edition of Rival Views, the two debate if there is a five star quarterback in the 2019 class and who is the closest to that status right now.

FARRELL'S VIEW: NO
It’s still early, but to me I don’t see a five-star quarterback in this class just yet. When it comes to who is the closest, I like Spencer Rattler and Bo Nix the best right now. Rattler has some size concerns and Nix needs to be a bit more consistent in a few areas, but both are skilled kids who can extend the play and improvise. But neither, at least right now, wows me in the way a five-star should, especially at that position.

GORNEY'S VIEW: YES
I don’t think this class is loaded at that position by any means, but every year there are quarterbacks taken in the first round of the NFL Draft, so it has to be a consideration when we look at rankings.
If Baker Mayfield can be drafted first overall, then Oklahoma commit Spencer Rattler has the potential to be a five-star. I like the dual-threat quarterbacks in this class and their potential a little more than the pro-style quarterbacks.
I know that’s counter-intuitive thinking when it comes to NFL Draft picks, but when I look at the players ranked at dual-threat and then I look at how the position is being transformed in the NFL, I would lean toward a five-star coming from that group.
The problem is I’m not ready to say one guy is definitely a five-star. Rattler has all the tools and he should be phenomenal in Norman. Ohio State pledge Dwan Mathis, four-star Jayden Daniels, Clemson pledge Taisun Phommachanh, Alabama commit Taulia Tagovailoa and others all have outstanding skills. There’s probably a five-star QB in this class. The only issue is I don’t know who it is.

FARRELL’S VIEW: Bo Nix
It’s not a great year at quarterback in 2019 and I’m not sure if there is a five-star in the group, but we know there will be guys who outperform their ranking. Right now, for me, the top guy is Bo Nix because of all the things he can do on the field. He’s not only a very good pocket passer with accuracy and arm strength but he has solid size, he can extend the play and run when needed.
I give him the slight nod over Spencer Rattler because Nix has a bigger frame to fill out and, while he may not be as athletic overall, he’s a better pure passer. Dylan Morris and his big arm intrigues me as well as some others, but for now give me the Auburn commit Nix over the Oklahoma commit Rattler.

GORNEY’S VIEW: Spencer Rattler
This is a wide open year at quarterback and it might be the first time since the 2011 recruiting class where there are no five-stars among the group. That year, Braxton Miller (Ohio State) and Jeff Driskel (Florida) led the position rankings.
As we go through this rankings process and we consider the best quarterback in this class, I start leaning toward Oklahoma commit Spencer Rattler for numerous reasons. He recently measured in at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, so size is no longer a concern.
Rattler effortlessly throws the deep ball to his receivers in stride, he can make tough throws into tight windows where only his receivers can get them and he does an excellent job of dodging pressure in the pocket and finding an open player down the field.
In his junior season, Rattler played under center and in the shotgun, showed he can do everything on the field and looks like an absolutely perfect fit for the Sooners’ offense. With Rattler and coach Lincoln Riley running the offense in Norman, expect Oklahoma’s offense to keep humming.

We need to have other options behind George. He is basically Duke Williams 2.0. Yes, he physically looks the part, but his grades and character issues are a major red flag. Whomever he signs with, getting him in school and actually showing up will be an issue.

quote:Apparently his grades are in order now per the bunker. Hoover apparently got him some online class to help him out. Supposedly he was going to Transfer to Thompson for his SR year because they already had the online schooling in place. Hoover found out about the potential transfer & quickly set up their own online system.

On character issues part, I haven't seen anything. Flamboyance on the field is not a character issue. If there is more to it than that can you share with the class?
