Is Bo an early enrollee? He really could win the starting gig as a true freshman. I can’t wait for him to be leading the charge in JHS.

The more I watch and the more I read, this kid looks like the real deal. True gamer. I’m excited as well.

KN put up an insider yesterday. Here's summary
- Noah Cain is expected to release his top 5-6 soon & KN expects AU to make that cut. His sources actually believe that AU/LSU/TEX are the top 3 right now. LSU is really trying to sell Cain on being the guy to help the finally beat Bama. How LSU does this year will play a big role, specifically how their offense performs. Cain says he hears from multiple AU coaches, players & commits daily. Good chance he will be back on campus for an OV at some point
- KN likes where AU sits for 4* WR Jalen Curry. If he wants in AU would take him. KN doesn't think it will be long before he commits
- AS for 4* WR John Dunmore he's not nearly as confident. AU is definitely a contender & calls out great work Burns/Porter have done on his recruitment. However, Penn State is a real threat due to Dunmore's relationship with Ja'Juan Seider. FSU is still there too. Basically KN is hearing different things from different sources & Dunmore's recruitment has had plenty of surprises already apparently. As of today, believes he will make a commitment at The Opening
- Apparently 3* DE Colby Wooden's little brother is a big AU fan. He will be an incoming freshman at Archer this year & Colby says that his lil bro will be a legit recruit in a few years. KN continues to feel like AU is in a good spot
- Some sources have told KN that AU is doing a lot of good work behind the scenes on the 2020 class & chances are that commit list will grow this summer
- The last week of July is a big week. The dead period runs from June 25-July 24 & then returns for whole month of August. So basically there's one week where coaches can get all these prospects on campus. Who visits where will be important to watch

Nix pushing the AU agenda in Atlanta (Rivals)
quote:
ATLANTA | Bo Nix is Rivals.com's top-ranked quarterback for the 2019 class.
Yet he plays a more important role for Auburn football these days: Ace recruiter.
Nix, an Auburn commit and the son of former starting quarterback Patrick Nix, has been working furiously behind the scenes to curry favor among top-tier prospects on the Tigers' behalf. He'll be collaborating with several elite receivers during the Five-Star Challenge on Wednesday and plans to bombard both Jadon Haselwood and John Dunmore with waves of positive chatter regarding Auburn's football future.
And it's not lip service. Nix says the Tigers' recruiting effort is exceeding his already high expectations.
"It feels like we get another commit every week or so, the top guys," Nix said Wednesday. "We’re really getting the right pieces of the puzzle. I feel really good about the class we’re putting together."

So after watching that 7v7 championship game last night the big thing that jumps out to me with Nix is dude gets the ball out quickly. Watch how long the other guys hold onto the ball compared to Nix. I'm a big fan of Stidham but he can be slow to process things at times. Don't think that's gonna be a problem for Nix
Also it was just 7v7 & not against an SEC defense so obviously things might change when facing better competition. It was just clear tho compared to those other guys like Sam Howell & Harrison Bailey, Nix makes decisions much faster

Nix shines at Five-Star Challenge (Rivals)
Arm strength has been a concern sometimes with Nix but sounds like that's really improved
quote:
ATLANTA | Mission accomplished for Bo Nix in Atlanta. Next up is Texas.
The Auburn commitment from Pinson Valley in Pinson, Ala., was the top quarterback during the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Thursday, winning the skills competition, leading his team to the 7-on-7 championship and earning quarterback MVP.
“It was just awesome,” Nix said. “To be able to compete against the top quarterbacks here and win is just really neat. The competition is just really good and I’m thankful to be here.”
Nix competed with a number of the nation’s top quarterback prospects in Mercedes-Benz Stadium including Wisconsin commit Graham Mertz, Florida State commit Sam Howell, South Carolina commit Ryan Hilinski, Arizona commit Grant Gunnell and Notre Dame 2020 commit Drew Pyne.
“This is the first time seeing Bo throw live and he looks really good, really good,” said QB Country’s David Morris, who worked with the group during the Five-Star Challenge. “You can tell he’s kind of grown up throwing the ball, just a real pure, quick motion. There’s not a throw he can’t make. He was ripping them on some of the drill work.
“I was kind of curious what his touch was going to be because sometimes guys with big arms kind of struggle with touch, but his touch was better than anybody else’s out here."
With Nix’s impressive performance at the Five-Star Challenge, the question now turns to whether or not he will earn a coveted fifth star from Rivals. Nix came into the competition already ranked as a four-star and the nation’s No. 1 pro-style quarterback and No. 40 overall prospect.
“I don’t have an answer for that right now,” said Mike Farrell, Rivals national director of recruiting. “We’ll meet as a team and talk about that. For me, it’s been Bo Nix first, Graham Mertz second at quarterback, and there’s been a huge drop-off after that.
“Bo’s got more zip on the ball than I think anyone else here. He’s shown great accuracy. His footwork has been excellent. And watching him in 1-on-1’s, his accuracy has been excellent downfield too.”
Rivals currently has 21 five-stars in the 2019 class, which will expand to 32-35 by the time the final rankings are released in January.
“The last time we didn’t have a five-star quarterback was 2011 so it’s pretty rare,” Farrell said. “Our next ranking is August when we usually add two or three because summer isn’t a great evaluation period. It’s a lot of 7-on-7 stuff. We’ll add even more after their senior season. That’s going to be an important one in November.
“We usually finish after the all-star games. We usually add 7-8 at the very end. We’ll probably have 25 to 28 going into that.”
Nix will leave directly from Atlanta and fly to Frisco, Texas Friday to compete in The Opening Finals June 30 through July 3. He's scheduled to graduate high school in December and enroll at Auburn in January.

Mind Of Mike: Nix impresses and more from #RivalsChallenge first session (Rivals)
quote:
ATLANTA -- The Mind of Mike is a scary place. However, we dare to go there as Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell shares his thoughts from the first session at the Rivals100 Five Star Challenge presented by Adidas.

* Class of 2020 athlete Kelee Ringo won the Fastest on the Field award, although it was very close between him and Jameson Williams. Ringo’s best time was in the 4.56 range although when the two raced at the end both seemed to be on a 4.53 pace which is flying for laser time. Georgia wide receiver commitment Jadon Haselwood was also very impressive, popping off a 4.6 range 40 as clearly the tallest and biggest player to run.

* At the quarterback position, Wisconsin commitment Graham Mertz and Auburn commitment Bo Nix were head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the group early in the day. If I had to give one the edge, it would be Nix who has a little more velocity on his ball.

* Some impressive players on the hoof before the action even began include 2020 athlete Arik Gilbert, defensive end Myles Murphy, offensive lineman Stacey Wilkins, wide receiver Trey Knox, linebacker Lee Kpogba, defensive back Cameron Smith, 2020 linebacker Justin Flowe, defensive end Khris Bogle, safety Marvin Grant among others. Offensive lineman Chris Akporghene and tight end Jaelyn Lay could be the two most physically impressive kids at the event and wide receiver Elijah Higgins is the most college ready wide receiver in the bunch. This is a great looking group of kids.
Really would like to see us get more involved with Chris Akporghene. Need to keep that Nigerian pipeline alive

* The offensive line group was up and down during one-on-ones but a few that stood out included Dontae Lucas, a Florida State commitment, and Keondre Jones. Both are interior guys, very physical and showed off excellent footwork. Saleem Wormley was also impressive as was 2020 Justin Rogers. Five-stars Kardell Thomas and Clay Webb were up and down, especially Webb as he lost more reps than we’re used to seeing. Thomas was good as always but has to work on avoiding holding calls. Stacey Wilkins also had his moments. Anthony Bradford, the biggest of the offensive linemen, won the bench press competition with an impressive 31 reps at 225 pounds. I also like the way Chris Morris, a 2020, moves. He was really athletic in drills.
Sounds like Jones had a solid performance. Was interested to see because he's more of a road grader so nice that he held up well in pass pro

* On the defensive line, I liked Khris Bogle quite a bit as he played outside and a bit inside as well. JJ Weaver has a good session as well working off of contact and Jowon Briggs was good in the middle beating Webb a few times. Class of 2020 five-star McKinnley Jackson also showed off his agility on the inside.
Bogle would be amazing at the Buck but not sure we are really in that race

* You have to hand it to Theo Wease and Derek Stingley Jr. as the two of them took reps only against the other in the early session. Wease got the better of the matchup, catching three of four passes I saw but Stingley was right there for each rep. Wease at one point said “give me the No. 1!” so you know he’s thinking about that ranking. Stingley is currently No. 1 overall in the country and Wease is No. 3 in the country.
OK WR class is insane

* The most impressive wide receiver I saw in the early session was Trey Palmer who beat everyone easily on every rep I saw. A close second? Nolan Groux who is committed to Wake Forest but will be fielding many more offers after this performance.
Posted on 6/29/18 at 7:18 am to TigerPaw1
quote:
* Trey Sanders and Zachary Evans were the most impressive running backs I saw in the early session. Sanders moves and cuts so well for a big running back and Evans, a 2020, could be even more special before he’s done. Evans is one of the best running backs I’ve seen in a few years, up there with the Leonard Fournette’s and Najee Harris’ of the world. However, all the running backs impressed in the early session.
Evans visited AU recently

* The defensive backs didn’t have the best day, but Brendan Gant did have a nice interception and Kaiir Elam made some nice plays. Elias Ricks was also very solid, Ringo had a good early session and Cameron Smith also had some nice moments. Tyrique Stevenson has a couple of nice plays as well and Akeem Dent showed off his catchup speed a couple of times on double moves.

* At linebacker, Justin Flowe, the No. 2 player in the 2020 class, was a standout for sure and Lee Kpogba also had some standout moments. I like the way Penn State commitment Brandon Smith was in coverage as well. Texas commitment De’Gabriel Floyd has added some good weight and it hasn’t slowed him down that much. Miami commitment Anthony Solomon may not be the biggest linebacker, but he’s really good in coverage. Size remains a concern there but he had a good first session.
