I'll admit, I'm still salty af he was retained. The only way that will change is for him to quit shitting the bed, win the SEC, and for God's sake:win a freaking bowl game!

FWIW that's only about a 10 spot combined overall jump on any of the 3 sites. Very attainable.

TBBH I'm not sure JB lasts that long in this stint.

Excuses or not, reality is it's a tough sell. Recruiting is about relationships & JB wasn't on any of these kids except Webb when he was here before. Plus he's not a great recruiter as is.I would be surprised if we signed a good OT class at this point.

KN put up a recruiting insider last night. Here's summary

- 4* WR Jalen Curry could be approaching a decision. Curry told KN yesterday he's not sure yet but that AU is definitely high on his list. Hopes to be back in July probably for picnic/recruiting event. Curry will be at The Opening where he could have a chance to play with Bo Nix who is apparently recruiting him

- Apparently Clemson is done at the OG position so they are no longer a threat for 4* OG Keiondre Jones. Back to being an AU/UF only battle. KN feels good about his AU pick still

- 4* Buck Derick Hall says it's very possible he will make a commitment in August. Plans to take an OV to AU for LSU game. Both AU & MSST have a lot of confidence they land Hall

- LSU is definitely team to watch for 4* RB Noah Cain. AU/OHST/TEX are also in the hunt. Apparently how LSU performs this year will play a big role in Cain's decision namely the stability of Ed Orgeron's job

- KN addressed the reporting by OM & MSST sites that Jaren Handy isn't solid & will eventually flip. KN asked Handy directly who said ppl just need something to talk about. AU has felt good for awhile about Handy & with guys leaving after the year they are selling early PT

Also KN had a Jashawn Sheffield update yesterday. Sheffield took an unofficial visit to SCAR last Thursday that was setup by his mom. Sheffield continues to tell AU he wants to be a Tiger & is trying to get an OV for this weekend setup. His mom is pushing to make sure he evaluates all his options before making a decision. For now though AU continues to be the team to beat

Fann has 3 schools on top (Rivals)
quote:

AUBURN | Four-star defensive end Curtis Fann, Jr. continues to have three schools on top, and visited one again on Saturday.

Fann, from Emanuel County Institute in Twin City, Ga., was back in Auburn for his fourth visit to the Plains.

“It went real good,” Fann said. “I actually didn’t know they were having camp, but I got here and decided to go.”

Fann participated in Auburn’s High School Tigers Camp, working with defensive line coach Rodney Garner and defensive coordinator/area recruiter Kevin Steele. Fann also spoke with Gus Malzahn following camp.

“I spent a lot of time with Coach Steele and Coach Malzahn,” Fann said. “They said they need d-linemen. They are losing a lot of good d-linemen so they could use me.”

Fann is considering helping the Tigers fill their need. He said Auburn, Florida State and South Carolina continue to stand out above other schools.

“(Those three schools) have been on me hard since early in my recruitment,” Fann said. “And they haven’t let up. With Auburn, they have a good defensive line every year and they win big games every year.”

Fann isn’t in a rush to make a commitment. He plans to take more visits, including at least one more to Auburn.

“I’m taking my time,” Fann said.

Rivals ranks Fann, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 251 pounds, the No. 30 strongside defensive end and No. 36 player in Georgia.

Garner, Woodson strike again (Rivals)
quote:

Handy, 6-foot-5 and 273 pounds, chose the Tigers over numerous other offers including Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss. He previously committed to LSU March 3 but backed out of that less than two weeks later as he wanted more time to evaluate other schools.

Handy recently spent four days in Auburn culminating in Big Cat Weekend, the first of two elite recruiting events the Tigers hold each summer.

“Thank you to all those that told me I couldn’t do it and drove me to prove against the odds,” Handy posted in a statement on Twitter. “I don’t look at offers as numbers, but an opportunity to have a FREE education and play the sport I love. I’m announcing my commitment to THE Auburn University.”

Handy, rated the nation's No. 12 strongside defensive end and No. 131 overall prospect, is Auburn's 11th commitment for the 2019 class and second defensive lineman. Garner, Auburn's veteran defensive line coach, has sent more than two dozen of his former players to the NFL. Woodson, who joined Auburn's staff in January, has a number of ties to the state of Mississippi including playing at Ole Miss.

Handy had 86 tackles, 27 tackles-for-loss and 10 sacks as a junior at New Augusta (Miss.) High School.

This was posted after Gordon's commitment so obviously Handy is on board now but still a good overview of things

Auburn recruiting snapshot (247)
quote:

Saturday's commitment from defensive end Jamond Gordon of Meridian (Miss.) was a big one for the Tigers. Not only is he the first defensive lineman to jump in the boat for the 2019 class, he's also Auburn's first 2019 pledge from the state of Mississippi. For Auburn, Gordon is commitment No. 10 and it moves the Tigers to No. 18 in the recruiting team rankings.

To say the least, Auburn is well ahead of where it sat a year ago at this time. In fact, in mid-June the Tigers didn't even have a top-50 class. They ended up at No. 12.

With Auburn off to a strong first half of the 2019 recruiting cycle, there is great optimism by the Tigers that this ultimately could be one of the better classes the Tigers have put together during the Gus Malzahn era. In fact, Malzahn himself said last week he's excited about what this group will look like come National Signing Day next February.

But obviously, there is a lot of work to do.

And a lot of spots to fill.

All told, we estimate Auburn will sign somewhere in the 23-24 range ... but the final number never is known until singing day. Programs don't like that info to leak -- plus, transfers and injuries can alter things.

Here's a snapshot at where things stand for the Tigers as of today ….

QUARTERBACK

Committed: 1 -- Bo Nix

Spots to fill: 0

The 411: Auburn is done here, unless something drastic happens -- like a transfer, injury or suspension. The Tigers are thrilled to have Nix, a 4-star recruit, on board. He has had a big year thus far on the camp circuit. He won quarterback MVP honors at The Opening Atlanta regional then performed well earlier this month at the Elite 11 finals in California. Next up are The Opening finals this July in Texas. Of course, Nix also led his team to a state championship and perfect record in 2017. He was Auburn's top quarterback target in the class and could compete for the starting job in 2019.

RUNNING BACK

Committed: 0

Spots to fill: 1-2

The 411: There does not seem to be much doubt that 4-star recruit Noah Cain of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy is Auburn's top running back target. He already has visited the Tigers twice this year and likely will return at some point for an official visit. Look for Cain to release a top five this summer, probably in July. LSU, Ohio State and Texas are three other programs to watch. Kenny McIntosh and Tye Edwards, both of Florida, are two other targets to keep an eye on. Both attended Big Cat Weekend at Auburn in early June. Miami is the team to beat for McIntosh, but Edwards apparently is fairly open.

My guess is Cain's top 5 will be AU/LSU/OHST/TEX/UGA

WIDE RECEIVER

Committed: 2 -- George Pickens and Ja'Varrius Johnson.

Spots to fill: 1-2

The 411: Auburn appears to be in a great spot at this position. Pickens is a top-100 recruit. Johnson was Auburn's top slot target. The Tigers could add one or even two more receivers to the class. Five-star Georgia commit Jadon Haselwood is their biggest target. He already has visited Auburn three times this year, most recently for Big Cat Weekend when he brought along about 10 family members. Another one to watch: Four-star recruit Jalen Curry of Texas. He officially visited Auburn earlier this week and the Tigers are trending up. He potentially could have a decision in the next week or two.
