CB: Andrew Booth, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer: From the sound of things, Auburn and Clemson stand out to the 5-star recruit — although it should be pointed out he hasn’t gone on the record as saying that. That’s simply our feelings based on intel from multiple sources. In any event, Auburn has a real chance here and he already has visited the program a few times this year. Booth is expected to return Saturday for Big Cat Weekend, which would be enormous for Auburn if that happens. He possibly could have a decision this summer, maybe sooner rather than later. It feels like Auburn has some momentum.

CB: Cordale Flott, Saraland (Ala.): Flott’s recruitment didn’t really take off until earlier this year and then the offers started pouring in. To land him, the Tigers had to beat out Florida, which impressed him so much during an April visit he named the Gators his leader. A day later, on April 17, he committed to Auburn. The 6-feet-1, 165-pound Flott is thin and will need to bulk up, but he’s extremely athletic and has the type of length (height plus arm length) that can make life uncomfortable for opposing quarterbacks and receivers. His stock — and ranking — have risen of late. Flott will be at Auburn this weekend.

CB: Jaylin Simpson, St. Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy: The 4-star defender committed to Auburn in late April and helped kickstart what proved to be a huge month of May for the Tigers. The Tigers beat out several schools for his commitment, namely South Carolina. Because of injuries on his team, the 5-feet-11, 185-pound Simpson had to do a little bit of everything last season. That included playing quarterback, which he actually did fairly well. Since committing to Auburn, Simpson has been an active recruiter for the Tigers. Because he’s taking the ACT, he won’t be able to make it to Auburn this weekend.

S: Jashawn Sheffield, St. Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy: Auburn is a big favorite for the 4-star athlete from Georgia and he very well could commit the next time he visits. While Sheffield could play receiver or defensive back, it seems like he probably will end up at safety should he sign with the Tigers. The 6-feet-1, 178-pound Sheffield is an Under Armour All-American and the No. 133 overall recruit nationally in the 247Sports Composite. To repeat, Auburn remains in very good shape in this one. Look for him to visit the Tigers again in the very near future — but not this weekend. He has the ACT.

With these players committed, based on their current rankings Auburn would finish with 288.89 points in the class calculator. That number would have been good for 5th in the 2018 standings.

KN on a roll with updates today, got a insider up this morning. Here's summary

- AU expected around 40 recruits on campus this weekend with most being 2019 prospects. Some top 2020 guys will be on town as well. BCW visitor list is a little higher this year due to having an extra coach on staff now

- KN asked 5* LB Owen Pappoe who he thought AU had the best shot of landing right now. Pappoe said 3* DE Colby Wooden who is expected to commit in August. His top 2 currently are AU/CLEM. Pappoe called Wooden "a dog" after watching him play in person last year

- It's a big deal that both Noah Cain's mom and dad are visiting this weekend. Cain's parents are actually divorced (which explains why mom took a separate visit). Dad lives in New Orleans, Mom in Dallas. KN says that AU is WAY more in this race than most realize & Cain's dad repeated over & over again to KN yesterday that AU is a great fit for Noah. They really like Tim Horton

- Cain is being coached by Cadillac Williams at IMG. Cadillac has good things to say about AU but is not pushing Cain to the Plains. Tells Cain to visit lots of schools & make best decision for himself but he does tell Cain a lot about the strong relationships he build while at AU

- 4* ATH Jashawn Sheffield is expected to officially visit either next weekend or week after. AU is still considered the clear favorite & Sheffield is just waiting on go ahead from his mom. KN says Gus Malzahn understands the situation and that Sheffield has told Gus he wants to be a Tiger. Basically sounds like Gus gotta close the deal with momma

- KN would not be surprised to see 1-2 UGA commits make it to BCW. AU working hard to get some on campus (looking at you Trezman Marshall & Jadon Haselwood)

Very interested to see if the two LA linebackers make it. I know Starks seems like a lock to LSU but pretty sure this will be his 3rd visit this year so we got a shot. Starks/Pappoe would make for an insane LB duo
FWIW if we get Starks I think it will be late in the cycle. After Coach O dumps a big 6-6 on LSU & loses his job.

I hope he's right about his top class prediction,
He's tempered it to a top 5 class FWIW.

Agreed. I think if he ends up committing in July like he has said before it will be bad news for AU. Hoping he holds off, wheels come off at LSU & AU capitalizes during early signing period

Or we just flip Marshall & not worry about it

LB: Trezmen Marshall, Homerville (Ga.) Clinch County

Our most likely Flip candidate IMHO. Kids from Clinch Co. are hungry. Unless a huge change has come about recently, Homerville is a small Pulpwood community. There is nothing there for them if they stay, unless they desire factory/forestry work. Also, I believe T-Will has skills. JMO of course.

We used to play them for State Titles in every sport some years in 1-A GA. I know nobody asked, but...
