So not sure on Eaford after watching his tape. Looks like a DE in a LB body. My guess is he plays Buck but he seems a step slow. Junior highlights
On the other hand, give me DeLoach right now. This dude is a beast. Check out his tape.. Reminds me some of what I loved about Channing Tindall in the last class. Covers lots of ground quickly and just seems to be able to navigate through traffic & find the ball carrier. Looks like Muschamp is high on him too. Go get em T-WILL
Ton of linebackers in this next class which is good because AU is gonna sign at least 3 hopefully 4

3* OL Carter Colquitt -> AU (I talked about Colquitt a few pages back. Massive kid who could play all 3 positions on OL. Would love to get him on board early)
Why do you think he is rated so low?

Some of it is just that MS has legit talent this year but I'm sure some of it is making sure we have more options next year
Both instate Mississippi schools have had some of the best years of thier existence after signing instate kids the last few years. But auburn recruiting sites and smEllitor have been pushing the narrative that there has been no talent in that state.

Funny thing, none of those QBs are from Mississippi except if you count JUCO. Bo Wallace is originally from TN, Chad Kelly is originally from NY, Dak Prescott is from LA & Nick Fitzgerald is from GA. Shea Patterson was in LA before transferring to IMG
State's best RB during this run, Josh Robinson, is from Louisiana. Evan Engram is from GA, DeRunnya Wilson is from Alabama as is Beniquez Brown. Laremy Tunsil is from Florida, Robert Nkemdiche is from Georgia & Laquon Treadwell is from Chicago.
There's been some studs like Chris Jones, AJ Brown, Bernardirck McKinney, Donte Moncrief & Senquez Golson. But the majority of the superstars & leaders from these recent top MS teams are all from out of state. Mullen did an excellent job of finding overlooked talent in LA & AL. Freeze just cheated his arse off & got ppl from everywhere
So yes, as much as it appears to upset you, those guys are right that the talent level just hasn't been amazing in recent seasons. Now that there is legit talent there AU & others obviously starting to recruit it harder

So is UGA chasing stars?
Maybe?
Honestly Smart is getting who Smart wants right now & obviously a lot of those guys are one that everybody else wants so they are ranked high. I don't think he's just pursuing stars for stars sake

Hard to say, especially this early
3* is probably the right rating though I think it should be more of a high 3* maybe very low 4*. Wouldn't worry too much about the ratings just yet on guys as it's super early. Camp season is just starting & a lot will change
There are guys I like more than Colquitt but after this past cycle, if there's a dude that could play OT who has a decent ceiling & likes AU then get him on board

Where Auburn stands with Rice grad transfer OL Calvin Anderson ahead of official visit (AL.com)
quote:
Auburn's 2018 signing class was lacking in one area in particular when National Signing Day came to a close -- the offensive line.
After signing just two linemen this cycle, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn admitted the Tigers would have liked to add one or two more offensive linemen to the roster. Although the Tigers missed out on their top high school targets on the line, they may not be done adding to the class.
Rice graduate transfer Calvin Anderson is set to take an official visit to the Plains this weekend, and Auburn is right in the thick of it, making the top five for the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder -- though the Tigers still have ground to make up.
"The best way I'd put it now is that Texas and Michigan are first tier," Anderson told Sports Illustrated. "Behind them is Auburn, and then [Oklahoma] and then TCU. It's mostly fluid, though, from No. 1 through 4, with TCU a little less likely."
According to the SI report, Texas A&M could make a late push for Anderson and supplant TCU in his top five after the Aggies offered him a scholarship earlier in the week.
Anderson, a former two-star recruit coming out of high school, started 36 straight games at Rice. Last season, Anderson allowed just seven pressures in pass protection last season, according to Pro Football Focus, which was tied for the third-fewest among returning FBS tackles.
Anderson announced on Jan. 6 that he intended to seek a grad transfer following his redshirt junior season, and Auburn did not wait long to pursue him.
Then-Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand visited Anderson on Jan. 13, shortly before leaving for Texas, which is the perceived favorite to land the offensive tackle. Once Auburn named J.B. Grimes as Hand's replacement on the Tigers' staff, Grimes' first order of business was to visit Anderson on Jan. 17.
Malzahn and Chip Lindsey visited Anderson a week later on Jan. 23, before Lindsey and Grimes paid him a visit on Jan. 31. Anderson has already made visits to his top two schools, Texas and Michigan, and Auburn will try to make up ground this weekend during his official visit.
Anderson hopes to make a decision by March 25, his 22nd birthday, according to SI, but a decision could come not long after his official visit this weekend.

Alabama and Auburn pursue 2019 Mississippi HS quarterback (AL.com)
quote:
Add another Class of 2019 quarterback to the recruiting mix for Alabama and Auburn.
John Ryhs Plumlee, a 6-foot-1 quarterback from Oak Grove High in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has been offered scholarships by Alabama and Auburn in the last week. Plumlee tweeted the offers.
Plumlee completed 63 percent of his passes for 1,759 yards with 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions last season, according to MaxPreps. He also ran for another 599 yards and eight touchdowns.
The 6-foot, 180-pounder is listed as an athlete, not a quarterback, by 247sports.
Alabama did not sign a quarterback in its Class of 2018, although Spain Park's Braxton Barker will join the Crimson Tide as a walk-on, and Auburn signed Joey Gatewood, a 230-pounder from Jacksonville, Florida, who has drawn comparisons to Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton.
Alabama, with only three scholarship quarterbacks currently on the roster, is expected to sign two quarterbacks in the Class of 2019. Thompson's Taulia Tagovailoa, the brother of Bama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Hewitt-Trussville's Paul Tyson, the great-grandson of legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, are among the other quarterbacks who have already received offers from Alabama.
Auburn has already received a commitment from Pinson Valley quarterback Bo Nix, whose father and high school coach, Patrick, starred at quarterback at Auburn in the 1990s. Nix led Pinson Valley to its first perfect season and the Class 6A championship last fall.
Plumlee received offers from Mississippi State and Southern Miss before his junior season, but he's also a standout centerfielder and could instead choose to play baseball. Most major-college programs prefer quarterbacks to concentrate on football instead of playing multiple sports.

Class of 2019 four-star Leigh Acres, Fla., defensive lineman Quashon Fuller was in attendance on Saturday but couldn’t work out as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. The longtime Florida State commit did talk recruiting, though, and said he’s still feeling out the new staff in Tallahassee. He’s planning on getting back on campus soon and said building a new relationship will be vital when it comes to decide whether to stick with the Noles or perhaps test the market.
It was notable that Fuller showed up at Saturday’s event sporting an Alabama hat as well as a Clemson shirt, with Seminoles shorts and Auburn wristbands, so anyone wanting to play the clothing game would have a tough time reading how his future might play out.
Fuller’s younger brother, 2021 athlete Dequaveon Fuller, also earned an invite back to Sunday’s camp after an impressive performance.

Class of 2020 Deerfield Beach, Fla., wide receiver Aydin Henningham attended the event to support some of his teammates and said his recruitment continues to take off. Henningham recently netted several major offers, including Missouri, Purdue and South Carolina. However, he said one school that has his attention is Florida. The Gators' new staff has already been in touch with Henningham and he said he’s looking forward to getting on campus and talking with Dan Mullen and company in person soon.

One player that caught the eye of the Rivals analysts in attendance was class of 2019 Miami (Fla.) Southridge offensive lineman Joshua Johnson. The hulking lineman checked in at 6-foot-4 and 307 pounds, and already claims an offer from Florida Atlantic. Other programs showing interest include Miami and Florida International. Johnson’s ability to move at his size helped him earn an invitation to Sunday’s event. Johnson’s teammate, class of 2019 linebacker Marvin Strong, earned an invite later in the day after running one of the fastest 40-yard dash times of any linebacker in attendance.

Class of 2020 Miami (Fla.) Columbus defensive end Elijah Roberts also impressed for his ability to move at his size (6-foot-4, 241 pounds) and earned an invitation to Sunday’s camp. Roberts is a prime candidate to see his recruitment take off this spring and said that Miami is his dream offer.

Palm Beach Lakes defensive end Cornelius Mann and 2020 North Miami (Fla.) Mourning School athlete Shawn Guerrier. On the day, Guerrier posted two of the fastest 40-yard dash times of any prospect in attendance.

NSD 2018: State of Alabama by the numbers (247)
quote:
The class of 2018 is largely through the recruiting process following the beginning of the second signing period on Wednesday, or national signing day, when most prospects make things official.
Some remain unsigned because of parameters like greyshirt, blueshirt and preferred walk-on status -- which prohibits a letter of intent from being signed at this time.
Even still, some interesting trends came to light in the state of Alabama and 247Sports takes a closer look.

Ole Miss actually signed the most P5 prospects in the state after Auburn, inking a half-dozen from the Yellowhammer State.
