It's Tuesday, that's far from a complete expected visitor list

Also it's a bit early to start bitching about the 2019 class

My list was for 2019 & beyond class coming for Junior Day this weekend.

Anderson will either visit this weekend or the next & AU is a threat. Still TBD on whether or not Gouraige visits this weekend

So pretty much par for the course of our OL recruiting under Gus.

Just last year we signed Calvin Ashley (5*), Nick Brahms (top 150 recruit w/ offers from everyone), and Austin Troxell (top 150 or close who had offers from everyone).

So early look at who is reported to be at Auburn's junior day this weekend

5* LB Owen Pappoe
5* RB Noah Cain
4* QB Bo Nix (AU Commit)
4* WR Jeremiah Payton
4* LB Donte Starks
4* OG Dontae Lucas
4* WR Ramel Keyton
4* WR George Pickens (AU Commit)
3* S Jarrian Jones
3* CB Jaydon Hill
3* CB Jayden Curry (UNC Commit)
3* WR LaQuez Cain
3* TE Sean Brown (could land offer soon)
CB Rhasaan Christian
ATH Jadarious Martin
2020 S Lejond Cavazos (we were his first offer)
2020 DL McKinnley Jackson (LSU Commit)

If Pappoe makes the trip then good chance a lot of the Grayson kids will too. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Clay Webb on the list. That's a solid group already tho, hopefully most make it to campus. Seems like might get some IMG guys on campus which has been hard to do in the past

Since posting this 4* DL Nathan Pickering & 4* ATH Brandon Turnage (Bama commit) have said they are gonna visit. Both from Mississippi. Woodson doing work

5-star linebacker Nakobe Dean ‘impressed’ by Auburn; high school teammate Raydarious Jones talks offer (SECCountry)

5-star linebacker ‘impressed’ by Auburn

Despite hosting six official visitors, Auburn coaches made time for the No. 1 Class of 2019 prospect in Mississippi.

Nakobe Dean, a 5-star linebacker from Horn Lake, Miss., will be a hot commodity. Dean already has taken visits to Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and LSU. Prior to the weekend, he’d never spent time at Auburn. That changed with an overnight visit to the Plains over the weekend with family and his high school teammate, Raydarious Jones.

Mark down Visit No. 1 as a success.

“It was great. I loved it here. I’m glad I got a chance to come to a college I hadn’t been to before,” Dean said. “Usually, I’d been going to the same colleges over and over again. I just wanted something new.”

Dean spent most of his time with linebackers coach Travis Williams and defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson.

He never felt left out on a weekend loaded with 2018 official visitors. In fact, he had the opposite feeling during his two-day stay on the Plains. Williams and Woodson carved out plenty of time to take to the No. 30 overall prospect in the 2019 class.

“I always say I want a family feel to the university. How they talk about it, they tell me it’s a family vibe. Everybody’s a family around here. You can tell,” Dean said. “They definitely impressed me.”

Dean’s process has a long way to go.

He still wants to take visits to Georgia, Florida, Michigan and potentially others. Dean doesn’t know yet whether he’ll use the spring official visit period or not. Either way, he doesn’t expect to make a college decision until after his senior season.

Auburn has gotten into the picture with recent contact.

“They gave me an offer back in December of last year. I didn’t really hear from them until the last two weeks. They’ve been communicating with me every other day,” Dean said. “I just like the school. I’m not really ranking my schools yet. I just love the feel of Auburn.”

Tall, athletic 2019 cornerback talks Auburn offer

At 6-foot-3, Raydarious Jones is going to catch a lot of eyes from college scouts.

Coaches will go see him play in Horn Lake, Miss., where he’s the starting quarterback. Jones thinks he could still grown an inch or two. At 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5, Jones might wind up as a wide receiver. For now, however, teams are recruiting Jones to be an unusually tall cornerback.

Coming into last weekend, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU and Southern Miss had offered.

Auburn joined the group during his unofficial visit to the Plains.

“Coach [Kevin] Steele and coach [Marcus] Woodson, they let me know they want me to be a part of Auburn. They offered me and asked what it would take for me to be a Tiger,” Jones said. “The people, the people around this campus. They made you feel welcome.”

Just like Dean, his high school teammate: No leaders, no decision timeline.

Jones is enjoying the process.

He fully expects to make a return visit to the Plains at some point in the spring and summer. Auburn coaches went to their high school on Monday, so the Tigers are making their prioritization of the teammates clear.

Any chance the tandem plays college ball together?

“I don’t know right now, but we talked about it a little,” Jones said with a smile.

KN says Gus used his in home visit on 4* OT Dylan Wonnum last night. Apparently visited lasted an hour & went well. Tigers think this race is closer than most think but KN still sees SCAR as team to beat. Apparently Wonnum is high on AU's offense, depth chart & fact that Gus has signed longterm deal. Decision could come by end of this week

Would be a hell of a steal late

Didn’t we send westry to Kentucky because we thought he was too tall to be CB?

Everything I've seen has Jones listed as 6'2. Westry is a legit 6'4.

ETA: I think a lot are also saying Jones cold grow into a WR as well. Kid is only 160 lbs, so a lot of where he ends up will depend on how he can fill out.

I don't think it had anything to do with his height. The new staff apparently wasn't as high on Westry as the old staff, who landed Carlton Davis in Westry's place, IIRC.

Wasn’t it Jeremiah Dinson? Seems like we basically did a swap.
