5-star running back to attend Auburn junior day with pair of IMG Academy (Fla.) teammates (SECCountry)
quote:

Auburn’s campus will be abuzz next weekend with the last weekend official visits.

Perhaps even more importantly, the Tigers are turning their attention toward the 2019 and 2020 recruiting classes. Auburn will host double-digit unofficial visitors for its first junior day of the upcoming recruiting cycle. A few key targets have already been confirmed.

Three more of the commitments come from one of the high schools in the nation with the most talent — IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Five-star 2019 running back Noah Cain, 3-star 2019 cornerback Jayden Curry and 2020 safety Lejond Cavazos will be at Auburn’s junior day next weekend, Cain told SEC Country.

Cain will be one of the most-coveted prospects in the Class of 2019. The 5-star running back, originally from Denton, Texas, holds offers from 25 programs, including LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas and others. Auburn offered on Jan. 10, and Tigers running backs coach Tim Horton has already been down to see him and others at the Bradenton, Fla., athletic academy.

Cain is the No. 2 running back and No. 19 overall prospect for 2019 in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Curry has been committed to North Carolina since June 20. The Virginia Beach, Va., native also holds offers from Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and FAU. Auburn has several early defensive back targets in the 2019 class, but Curry will be someone to look out for an offer when he visits this upcoming weekend.

He’s the 70th-ranked cornerback in the nation.

It’s still a year away for Cavazos’ 2020 class to be the focal point. With that said, the Seguin, Texas, native has already been on most college radars for a while. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety picked up offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Southern Cal and several others before even his sophomore season started last year.

Auburn was the program that kicked it off. The Tigers offered Cavazos on March 6. His 17 other Power 5 offers followed.

A match made in Auburn heaven? Maybe (247)
quote:

Might an Auburn legend soon be coaching a future Auburn quarterback?

It’s possible. Very possible.

According to Pinson Valley (Ala.) coach Patrick Nix, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has invited Nix’s son, 2019 Auburn 4-star quarterback commit Bo Nix, to play for the 7-on-7 team Newton coaches.

Newton recently reached out to Patrick and Bo Nix to discus the opportunity with them.

“We’ve definitely talked to him,” said Patrick Nix, also a former Auburn quarterback great. “It’s an honor. It’s very humbling for him to be interested in Bo and wanting Bo to be on his team.”

The Cam Newton All-Stars are sponsored by the Cam Newton Foundation. Newton, who led Auburn to the 2010 national title while winning the Heisman Trophy, is extremely active with the squad he coaches, calling plays, offering guidance to players and often traveling by bus with them to out-of-town events.

“He told us he’s very involved (with the team),” Patrick Nix said.

Georgia 5-star signee Justin Fields was Newton's quarterback last year. Previous Cam Newton All-Stars quarterbacks include Deshaun Watson, who now is with the NFL's Houston Texans, and current Auburn quarterback Malik Willis.

Nix is the No. 57 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Auburn on Jan. 10.

Bo Nix is strongly considering Newton’s offer. A decision will be made in Febuary.

“There’s a good chance it will happen,” Patrick Nix said.

To make things work, the Nix family must first make sure Bo can fit it into his busy schedule. Not only is he playing baseball this spring, but he will have multiple football camps to attend, including Nike’s The Opening Regional. There’s also the matter of driving two hours to Atlanta for practices.

“Quite honestly, the Nike Elite 11 and baseball are his top priorities,” Patrick Nix said. "Everything else comes behind that. But obviously, working with Cam Newton now is a top priority. It’s moved up there. He’s a Cam Newton fan. He grew up when Cam won the national championship at Auburn. For an Auburn kid, Cam is pretty important. To have a chance to work with Cam is a great honor and a great privilege. “

For as good as Bo is at baseball, I'd love to see him give that up. Hate to have another Tyler Queen situation.

Any optimism regarding our OT recruits?
Gotta get Gouraige here next weekend.

Any new names?
Not that I've seen. Looks like Anderson, Gouraige, or bust.

Preferably could’ve gotten a new coach after NSD Dameyune Craig style.
Easier said than done. There's not many big time recruiters as OL coaches in college football.

Should have made the move after the SECC, since Hand wasn't getting anyone anyway.
We led w/ Gouraige FTR before Hand went to Texas.

We have essentially been eliminated by the #7 OT in the country because we lost Hand.
Not quite yet. If he visits this weekend, which is very possible, then game on.

I don’t know the specifics of Hand leaving. Did Gus tell Hand to leave or did Hand want out?
Gus told Hand to look around but wasn't going to make a change til after NSD. Conflicting info on whether AU or Texas leaked it.

Saw interesting note in VIP article on 4* WR Devonta Lee from LSU site. Says AU will be in his top 10 & that he really clicked with Kodi Burns. Good chance he visits in future. Said he went to spring game last year & was impressed with how we throw the ball & get it to playmakers. Also said likes how doesn't matter if you are freshman or senior, if you can play you will see the field (I am sure some on here totally agree )

Curious to see if he makes it to campus this weekend. Dude could play WR or S at next level. Teammate is 5* DT Ishmael Sopsher

FWIW 2 different posters on 247 confirmed what KK was saying last week about Langham. That if he visits AU will probably land him. The big concern is Bama convincing him to shut things down. Gonna be an interesting week

All I was saying is we could’ve waited until after NSD to change coaches.
