So just saw article on 2019 4* WR Jeremiah Payton who balled out at Orland Pylon 7v7. Told UF 247 writer that one main reasons he's interested in checking out AU this weekend is that he saw AU has one of the top QBs committed in Bo Nix. That caught his eye so wants to learn more about AU & how he might fit in our offense
Nix is gonna do work for us in next year's class

2020 DL commit Andy Boykin visiting UGA this weekend & not AU for Junior Day. Says UGA is coming after him real hard right now

Any optimism regarding our OT recruits? Any new names? I highly doubt Anderson leaves the state of Texas given he is from Austin, Texas.

Sounds like AU going in for the kill tonight on 4* Caleb Tannor. Gus, Steele & Garner will all visit him tonight. They did something similar with McCreary last week. Interested to see if we can lock him down

I don't understand this big numbers crunch worry... Why could we not take a Tank

Basically any 1 from Tannor/Johnson/Langham is a solid pickup to finish off DL class

Auburn fans asked for a new OL coach. Now that we have one, people wanna complain that we won't get our top targets. Makes no sense.

Preferably could’ve gotten a new coach after NSD Dameyune Craig style. But you know Herb probably wanted Anderson at Texas with him.
Also

This is a misrepresentation of what is really going on also. I’m not worried about missing on the Barnes/Gouraige/ NPF trio. It’s concerning that we don’t have quality backups on our board that we can likely pick up. Think back to 2015 and we picked up Horton on NSD after missing on Martez Ivey. That’s where we need to be at right now.

I am one of those Auburn fans. I am willing to accept a shitty o Lin class for a new o line coach. Short term loss for long term gain....but was a littlw underwhelmed by the o line coach Gus did hire.

Should have made the move after the SECC, since Hand wasn't getting anyone anyway.

We have essentially been eliminated by the #7 OT in the country because we lost Hand.

JB Grimes is a decent recruiter, but he wouldn’t have enough time to recover before NSD anyways.
I don’t know the specifics of Hand leaving. Did Gus tell Hand to leave or did Hand want out?

We had a very good shot at getting Gouraige & were going to get William Barnes's last visit. There's no way to know for certain if AU would have landed either if Hand had stayed but we were making a major push
I think AU is a very real threat for Calvin Anderson despite losing Hand. Seems like idea of playing in SEC is a big draw for him. Jason Caldwell says Anderson is gonna visit this weekend. We will see if AU can make it happen.
No matter what AU has to get at least 2 OTs in next year's class

FYI 2019 5* RB Noah Cain is expected to visit this weekend according to Wolk. When I get chance will post article. This weekend has a chance to be absolutely loaded. Nix, Pickens, Payton, Keyton, Cain, Starks, Pappoe & possibly Andrew Booth. Will try & post all who have been reported to probably visit later

Apparently Cam Newton has reached out to Bo Nix about being the QB on his 7v7 team this year. Bag man confirmed
Cam needs to be reaching out to guys that aren't AU locks. You don't bagman what you've already got in the bag.

Gotta keep those already on board well paid especially the front man for the next class. Also remember Newton supposedly visited Jadon Haselwood already in his Bentley & no doubt brought a bag full of cash as well. Trust in Cam

Versatile defensive prospect Caleb Johnson has Auburn in top 3 after official visit (SECCountry)

Versatile defender has Auburn in top 3
There’s a three-team race brewing for 3-star defensive end/outside linebacker Caleb Johnson.
Florida, Georgia and Auburn have each hosted the Columbus, Ga., prospect on official visits. The order those programs are listed is the order of how hard Johnson says each school is recruiting him. That means Auburn, despite hosting him on an official visit this past weekend, isn’t applying as much recruiting pressure as the other two programs.
That didn’t stop Johnson from coming away impressed with the Tigers.
“Just getting to know the whole coaching staff instead of just Coach [Rodney] Garner and hanging out with more than just Derrick Brown, hanging out with more players on the team. Just making those close bonds,” Johnson said. “This late in the recruiting process, that’s what it’s really about to me, that family thing. They just kind of told me their philosophy and vision. It stood out to me.”
Don’t let Johnson’s order of how hard the schools are recruiting him confuse you.
From all three programs, Johnson said he’s receiving much more attention than he has throughout the year. After the early signing period, Johnson became a much hotter commodity for those three universities. That’s what led to his official visits to all three places.
In Auburn’s case especially, he feels much more wanted than during his unofficial visits in the fall.
“I mean, it’s definitely picking up since Signing Day,” Johnson said. “I think it’s the same way with all of them.”
Johnson wrapped up his Auburn official visit with some family time in Gus Malzahn’s office.
It was the first time Johnson got extensive time with the Auburn coach. Malzahn has talked about potentially coming to Columbus for an in-home visit some time this week. Dan Mullen and Kirby Smart haven’t made their in-home visits with Johnson yet, but especially Mullen can probably be expected in the next week.
“[Malzahn], he didn’t apply any type of pressure, but I mean he obviously made his message clear that he does want me on the team,” Johnson said. “The coaches. It’s all about that family. The family really makes me comfortable. I want to go somewhere I want to be comfortable, of course, and they’re a really prestigious academic university, so that helps too. It’s really close to home; it’s nothing but a 30-minute drive.”
Johnson is a well-liked prospect by the Auburn coaching staff.
He’s a versatile, athletic defensive prospect who the Tigers think is capable as an outside linebacker, Buck pass rusher, strongside defensive end or defensive tackle. He weighed in at 267 pounds this weekend, which is quite a bit of growth from the start of his senior year. I expect Johnson to grow into a defensive tackle at the next level.
The numbers crunch is on at all three schools, so the big question will be: Does Auburn have a spot for Johnson? His response to that question was a smile, a laugh and an “I hope so.” If the Tigers push, I like their chances, especially if Georgia goes a different direction. If not, the Gators could be the beneficiary and land one of (in my opinion) the most under-recruited, underrated prospects in the country.

Auburn DT commit shuts it down
If there was any legitimate concern about Coynis Miller, it can be put to rest.
I’ve been asked regularly in my Auburn Recruiting Question of the Day (here and here) about the 4-star defensive tackle’s commitment level. My answer has been, more or less, the same: Don’t fret. Yes, he was scheduled to take a trio of official visits — and that’s always tough for a fan to not fret about — but I always saw them more as formalities than anything.
Miller confirmed those beliefs shortly after this weekend.
He took an official visit to Oregon last weekend. He was in Knoxville, Tenn., for his Volunteers visit this weekend. When he left that trip to Tennessee, Miller made it clear his recruitment was locked in. He was committed to Auburn. He was signing with Auburn. Nothing would change that.
Miller felt so strongly about that decision that he has no intention of taking his Florida official visit next weekend, as originally planned. If any of the three visits were to scare Auburn, that one to Gainesville, Fla., might’ve been the most concern-worthy given the fact the Gators were listed as his leader shortly before his commitment.
As one source put it: “He was never going anywhere else.”
It’s still a week and a half until National Signing Day, but that’s clearly the case now that Miller has closed things down.

In-state DL could officially visit Auburn
This isn’t set in stone, but in-state defensive lineman Malik Langham is considering an Auburn official visit.
Prior to last week, Langham — one of the fast-rising prospects in the country — has his five official visits scheduled. Auburn wasn’t in that group. But late last week, Malzahn went to Huntsville for an in-home visit to try to convince the defensive end to take an official visit.
Langham’s mind still isn’t made up, but the Tigers’ chance of scoring an official visit are higher than ever.
He was originally slated to go to Tennessee this weekend. It still could happen, but Langham is in decision mode. Langham is still deciding whether he will take an official visit to Auburn or Tennessee this upcoming weekend, he told SEC Country.
It remains up in the air for now, but it’s clear the lifelong Auburn fan was positively affected by Malzahn’s in-home visit last week. If it’s enough to earn an official visit, anything can happen.
