4-star WR commit Matthew Hill, Snellville, Ga.
- Matthew Hill did do interviews following his official visit, but there were some takeaways from his visit. Multiple sources have said they feel confidently about Hill sticking with Auburn. Clemson will continue to push, but on Auburn’s side, there’s a strong belief he’ll stick.
- Hill spent a lot of time with Harris during his official visit. Harris and Hill are going to start training together shortly in the metro Atlanta area. Also interesting, Harris said he expects to room with Hill once they’re both signed and enrolled. Harris seems convinced Hill will ultimately sign with Auburn.
- The thing to watch here is Hill’s official visit to Clemson that’ll come later this month.

4-star OT signee Jalil Irvin, Stone Mountain, Ga.
- Jalil Irvin already signed with the Tigers during the early signing period, so his official visit was more of a formality than anything. You can see it in Irvin’s face when you talk with him that he can’t wait to get on campus and officially start his college career at Auburn. Seeing fellow class members enroll early only reinforced that feeling.
- Much of Irvin’s work on campus this weekend was as a recruiter. One of his close friends Dylan Wonnum was on his official visit, as well. Wonnum’s family and Irvin’s family know one another from growing up in the Stephenson school district. Those two spent a lot of time with one another on this trip. Irvin feels like Auburn is in better shape for Wonnum than many think, but he knows South Carolina and Tennessee are real threats.
- Irvin has made the mutual decision with Auburn to pursue a college career as a center. There’s an open competition there right now, and Irvin will be a part of it leading up to the 2018 season. Irvin’s primary high school focus has been at offensive guard, but he’s eager for the opportunity to play with the ball in his hand.

4-star RB commit Harold Joiner, Birmingham, Ala.
- That’s right. It’s now Auburn “commit” Harold Joiner, not just Auburn “target” Harold Joiner. He committed to the Tigers on Sunday during his official visit to the Plains. It puts an end to what had become a wild recruitment, including being a longtime LSU lean. Joiner is Auburn’s third running back in the class, though he’s likely to serve a more versatile role than at only running back.
- Despite flirting with other programs throughout the process, Joiner said he’d been feeling Auburn all along. As he pointed out after his visit, he’d visited the Plains double-digit times in the last two years. LSU and Ole Miss were other schools in contention, but he’s glad it fell in place for him to land with the Tigers.
- Joiner spoke with Malzahn just before leaving his visit. The position fit remains the same as it always has. His home will be in the backfield, but Auburn also has plans to try him out as a wide receiver or tight end in certain sets. Joiner has the skill set to do it.
- He doesn’t expect to take visits to other schools now that he’s committed.

3-star DB Roger McCreary, Mobile, Ala.
- Roger McCreary said he came close to committing during his official visit to Auburn. But, after talking it over with his mother, it makes sense to wait until he takes his official visits to Alabama and Tennessee before making a decision. Still, McCreary had a big smile come across his face when initially asked about his visit. -
Without hesitation, he said Auburn was his new No. 1.
- McCreary will officially visit Alabama next weekend and Tennessee the weekend after that. He doesn’t expect to wait until National Signing Day. After McCreary takes his Tennessee official visit, he thinks he’ll be ready to make a decision.
- McCreary spent a lot of time with a trio of coaches — Kevin Steele, Greg Brown and Marcus Woodson. They made it clear to him they want him, but they aren’t going to pressure him to make his commitment. Since his recruitment took off recently, the Auburn staff told him they completely understand his desire to wait.

4-star DT commit Coynis Miller, Birmingham, Ala.
- Not much has changed since the update earlier this week on Miller. He’s still going to take official visits to Tennessee, Florida and Oregon. As has been the case for weeks, Miller is taking these visit to do his due diligence with the recruiting process. All three of those programs have new head coaches, so he’s willing to hear what they have to say.
- With that said, Miller confirmed his commitment to Auburn is as strong as it’s been since the day he chose the Tigers. These visits are just that — visits. There is likely to be a lot of buzz about other programs throughout the process, but I stay strong in my belief Miller sticks with the Tigers.
- Miller took his Auburn visit with his parents. His father, a noted Alabama fan, was rocking an Auburn hat when he left the visit. So it seems, at the very least, Miller’s father is turning the corner.

4-star WR commit Anthony Schwartz, Plantation, Fla.
- This was Anthony Schwartz’s first visit to Auburn since commitment, and he threw out an ear-to-ear smile and the word “home” in his first interview. Schwartz left this official visit more convinced than ever that he made the right college choice when he announced it on ESPN2 a few weeks ago.
- Schwartz said he’d been feeling Auburn was the school of choice since visiting for the Iron Bowl. He told coaches on an in-home visit shortly after the Iron Bowl that he would commit to the Tigers at the Under Armour All-America Game.
- Speak of that all-star game, Schwartz was fleeced by other Auburn commits throughout the week at that game. Joey Gatewood, Quindarious Monday, Matthew Hill and Coynis Miller were in his ear throughout the week and made it too tough of a decision to pass up.
- There will be a lot of this throughout the spring, but Schwartz and Shaun Shivers had a funny back-and-forth about this upcoming track season. The two of them will compete against each other regularly the next couple months in the south Florida track circuit.
- Schwartz doesn’t think he’ll take any more visit. He said before his commitment that he might take official visits to both of the schools in consideration — Auburn and Florida — but it doesn’t look like the Gators will receive an official visit at this time.

4-star RB signee Shaun Shivers, Hollywood, Fla.
- As was the case with most signees, the official visit for Shaun Shivers was more of a formality than anything. Shiver came on the visits with his mother. That duo has been to Auburn a handful of times throughout the 2017 season.
- Shivers spent a lot of his time on the visit getting to know other commits or targets. His south Florida track relationship with Schwartz will get a lot of play in coming months. The two of them will compete against one another several times during the spring track season.
- Shivers was one of the more excited prospects regarding the commitment of Harold Joiner. He said he expects this Class of 2018 backfield of Joiner, Shivers and Asa Martin to be one of the more explosive groups in the country.

3-star OT signee Kam Stutts, Killen, Ala.
- Kam Stutts was one of the early signees who took his official visit this weekend. He already knows what he’s getting from Auburn and nothing is changing on that front, so this weekend was more just an opportunity to explore the academic side.
- Stutts is also an active recruiter in this class. He spent some time with Harold Joiner and Dylan Wonnum who were the two recruits Stutts keyed in on during this official visit weekend.
- The most intriguing things on Stutts have nothing to do with his visit, though. He didn’t enroll early because he still has some unfinished athletic business at the high school level. Stutts is playing for his high school basketball team that is currently 17-0. He also has hopes to repeat as a state champion in the shot put.

quote:
3-star DB Cam Taylor, Montgomery, Ala.
- Cam Taylor is staying as optimistic as can be. When asked about a potential offer, he’s sticking by the same comment he always has: “It’s coming.” He’s not sure when, but Taylor still firmly believes the coaching staff will offer.
- The in-state defensive back had several conversations with Gus Malzahn and Kevin Steele this weekend that revolved around that topic. Taylor said they have been “transparent” and “honest” about where things stand with the defensive back recruiting board. In Steele’s case, Taylor said the Auburn defensive coordinator has been frank with him since the beginning. An offer will be contingent on how other defensive back recruiting shakes out.
- In a fitting storyline, Taylor spent a lot of time with Auburn safety Daniel Thomas — also from Montgomery — who picked up an offer from the Tigers on National Signing Day. Taylor heard a lot from Thomas about the importance of patience this time of year. Taylor is really holding out for the Auburn offer.
- With that said, Taylor has two other visits set up in coming weeks. He will go down to Florida Atlantic next weekend. Lane Kiffin has talked with him a bunch about his versatile athlete skill set that could serve as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver or defensive back. He’ll also take a visit to Nebraska later this month.

3-star ATH Nathaniel Watson, Maplesville, Ala.
- Nathaniel Watson said he’s still committed to Mississippi State, but he’s considering two other programs — Auburn and Ole Miss. Mississippi State hasn’t been clear about whether it wants Watson as a wide receiver or safety. Auburn continues to recruit him at both positions. Ole Miss wants him to play wide receiver.
- While Auburn looks at him as a tight end/receiver and safety/linebacker, it’s worth noting most of the attention Watson got during his visit was from the defensive staff. Kevin Steele & Co. have always had interest in Watson. With that said, Watson made it clear it’s still his preference to play on the offensive side of the ball.
- Watson doesn’t expect his recruitment go all the way to National Signing Day. Once he gets through the Ole Miss visit in a couple weeks — and has a few more conversations with Auburn and Mississippi State coaches — Watson expects to come to a final decision.

4-star OT Dylan Wonnum, Tucker, Ga.
- Wonnum declined interviews following his visit. That isn’t necessarily surprising, but I’ll try to find more information on him. South Carolina has been considered the team to beat for much of the process, mainly because his brother, D.J., is on the Gamecocks.
- Two recruits gave their input on Wonnum after their visits. Irvin and Wonnum have grown up friends. Harris plays on the same high school team as Wonnum. Both of them are taking a sense of optimism, but not supreme confidence, when it comes to the 4-star offensive tackle.
- Wonnum will take visits to South Carolina and Tennessee, too. The Gamecocks are the one to watch.

This weekend is a big weekend. Richard Gouraige, JaMarr Chase & Joseph Foucha all taking OVs. Curious to see if any other names get added

KN put up a VIP update on Richard Gouraige this morning. Heading into his Clemson OV sources told him AU was the overwhelming favorite to land Gouraige. In fact, Clemson staff saw AU as their biggest threat despite him being committed to UF. Well apparently things have changed after OV to CLEM this past weekend. Supposedly it went as well as an OV can go without landing a commitment & now CLEM appears to be the leader. The good news for AU is he didn't commit & is still planning on taking a visit to AU this weekend. Apparently he's a very impressionable kid & sounds like has a case of the "visit high syndrome" so there is confidence on AU side that a strong visit will put them back on top. AU & CLEM will both visit him this week. It's not for certain he will OV to UF so this upcoming weekend could be his final OV. It's a clear AU/CLEM battle right not. He's apparently very close with Herb Hand so we will see what happens
I have no sources but I have felt since the Iron Bowl AU lands Gouraige. He seems to LOVE Auburn when he visits but hasn't visited enough for us to seal the deal yet. I am gonna boldly predict AU nails OV this weekend & he commits & shuts down his recruitment. Bout time someone pumped some sunshine on this board

Some CBs coming in this morning for Olaijah Griffin to USC. Not a huge surprise imo I still think he stays out west. Supposed to visit AU in FEB
Also looking like Goss to FSU is done deal. AU is more focused on Gouraige, Wonnum & Barnes right now along with some grad transfer options. I think in a few years Goss is gonna be a really good player for the Noles

My favorite RB in the 2019 class (John Emery) is apparently gonna drop a top 5 soon. Hoping AU made the cut. I think he's a major LSU lean right now. Dude is a damn smooth runner. Would love to pluck him out of LA is possible

Sounds like A&M is gonna land 3* TE Glenn Beal today. That should help us with Alaimo

Paw, I really appreciate you passing along the recruiting news and insight. I wasn't aware of this site until September 2017. Prior to that, I paid for an "insider" subscription.
You are the equivalent of a really rich guy buying a huge tract of land near a major city and cutting a free toll road through it.
Thank you!

When LSU has a mediocre season, we'll definitely have a shot.
