Mammoth in-state offensive lineman Kameron Stutts says Auburn ‘definitely up there’ (SECCountry)
quote:

Big in-state OL analyzes Auburn

Auburn plans to build a big group up front on the offensive line.

The Tigers already have gotten started with 4-star offensive guard Jalil Irvin. They hosted another big-bodied offensive lineman earlier in the month — 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive guard Kameron Stutts — who holds an offer from the Tigers.

Stutts is already thinking Auburn, though his decision remains a long way off.

“I don’t really have a top schools right now, but they’re definitely up there. They’re one of the best schools I talk to right now,” Stutts said. “Right now, Mississippi State and Auburn are the only two schools I’ve been to that have offered me so far … My decision, it’ll be some time during my season or after. Not for sure yet.”

Stutts, the 3-star from Killen, Ala., has visited the Plains twice. He attended once for a game in the fall and once for a junior day at the beginning of March.

He also holds offers from Mississippi State, Iowa State, Duke, Memphis, Missouri, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech. Stutts has been in regular communication with Vanderbilt, as well, but that hasn’t result in an offer yet, though he visited the Commodores recently.

He’ll visit Ole Miss this weekend.

Auburn has several top targets on the offensive line, but the relationship with Stutts appears to be building mutually. As that bond forms, Stutts hopes to get “that feeling” to help make his decision.

“I’ve been told you can tell if there’s a school you’re supposed to be at. This is definitely a nice school. I like to be here,” Stutts said. “It’s nice. I really like the campus. I know a couple people that come here. They like it up here. I like coming here. It’s just a really cool place.”

Future visit planned by Folsom

Auburn will host several targets this weekend when it holds a scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium, but one under-the-radar target already has plans to visit the Plains the following weekend.

Daishon Folsom told SEC Country he will be on campus a week from Saturday for an unofficial Auburn visit. Folsom is yet another defensive tackle the Tigers plan to evaluate in the 2018 recruiting class. He stands 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, but has a relatively modest offer sheet.

Folsom — an unranked prospect — has offers from Jacksonville State and most recently Central Florida. He said he doesn’t know whether or not to expect an offer on the visit, but Folsom is eager to get on campus.

Folsom is a defensive tackle at Escambia High in Pensacola, Fla. Interestingly, wide receiver target Jacob Copeland recently transferred from Pine Forest to Escambia, so it’s possible Auburn will be in the hunt for two 2018 prospects from that high school.

Rivals 3 Stripe Camp Orlando: Predictions on top players (Rivals)
quote:

4* ATH Amari Burney

The latest: Burney has options. He holds a long list of offers from major schools spanning conferences and time zones. It seems like it will either be Florida or Ohio State for the four-star prospect and he will announce his decision before the upcoming season.

Prediction: Betting against Urban Myer is hard, but the local appeal gives Florida the edge here. There’s not much confidence in this prediction, however, as Burney landing at Ohio State would be less than shocking.

quote:

4* OT William Barnes

The latest: Barnes says that he has no leader but people have assumed he’ll land at Florida for some time. He has family ties to North Carolina, which is also heavily involved.

Prediction: Florida. It’s going to take an incredibly poor season or some other unexpected occurrence by UF to lose Barnes at this point.

2019 Georgia ATH K.J. Wallace likes the feel he has at Auburn (Rivals)
quote:

Auburn University loves to recruit the state of Georgia. One of their four commitments (Jalil Irvin) for 2018 is from Georgia. The Tigers signed four from the Peach State in 2017, six in 2016, nine in 2015 — you get the picture. Auburn loves the talent in Georgia and they already are courting top sophomore K.J. Wallace.

Auburn along with Central Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt have offered the 5-foot-10, 182 pound athlete out of Atlanta (Ga.) Lovett with Alabama, Georgia and Miami showing interest.

Wallace has visited the Plains more than any other college campus and Gus Malzahn, his staff and the community have made him feel right at home.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

TIGERS LEAD: "Auburn is a school that is really high in my mind," said Wallace. "I have been there five or six times, so I am familiar with things and I just like it over there. The people seem so genuine and that really stands out. I have been there for a football game, a couple of basketball games, camp and I have really been there a lot and seen it all. I like the coaches, the students and I just get a great vibe over there."

HOPEFUL FOR NEW OFFERS: "I really would love to get offers from Virginia and Stanford. Academics will be a big part of my decision on a college and those two offer great educations. I know they both could set me up for life after football, so I have interest in both of those schools."

NO LETTING UP: "It means a lot to be getting these type of offers early. It feels good, but it also means I have been put on a stage, so I have to keep pushing, keep working and nobody that has offers can get complacent. For me, I just want to keep my foot on the gas and keep moving forward and getting better."

RIVALS REACTION: Wallace is a strong student-athlete at one of the top private schools in the state of Georgia. He is not only looking for a great football program to be a part of, but what a school can do for him after football. It is still early, but Auburn has made him feel right at home so far. Their interest in him along with what it has to offer has his attention. No commitment is expected in the near future.

Watch three-star Louisiana OL Cameron Wire work at The Opening New Orleans (Scout)
quote:

The offensive line group at The Opening New Orleans was among the strongest of any position at the event and Cameron Wire was near-dominant at offensive tackle throughout. Scout takes a closer look.

Evaluation Notes: Gonzales (La.) East Ascension offensive tackle Cameron Wire has a near-ideal frame at 6-foot-6, 271 pounds with a gaudy offer list to go along with it. After seeing him in person Sunday, it is not very hard to see why. Not only is he big and long, but the senior-to-be is patient during competition and it helps him manage pass rushers both big and small. Wire can give groud and redirect well enough to neutralize speed rushers while he is stout enough at the point of attack to slow defenders who outweigh him. A good athlete, he could be more efficient with his steps and kick step while his frame still has plenty of room to grow. Once the technique is polished up and Wire gains the good weight most do early on at the college level, few long tackles in the region will have as much upside.

Recruiting Notes: Wire has nearly three dozen scholarship offers including Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Oregon and Oklahoma, among others.

Tigers offer OT from Arkansas (247)
quote:

Darius Thomas, a heavily offered 2019 offensive tackle from Jonesboro (Ark.), visited the Tigers on Thursday -- and will head for home with a new one as the Tigers pulled the trigger.

The 6-feet-6, 281-pound Thomas already claimed offers from programs such as Arkansas, Georgia and LSU. He now has six total.

While on campus Thursday, he not only met with the staff (including offensive line coach Herb Hand), he got to watch the Tigers practice.

"It feels good to recieve an offer from such a good program," Thomas said. "It goes to show that hard work and effort pays off."

Big time GA duo visiting today. 4* DE Brenton Cox & 3* WR Marquez Ezzard. The 2 claim to be a package and UGA seems like team to beat early especially for Cox. According to KN, Ezzard has visited AU more than any school

Also NR DE Caleb Tanner is visiting today. He's picked up a trio of SEC offers recently from UGA, Mizzou and Tennessee. KN says AU is recruiting him for the Buck spot and an offer could come soon. Apparently he is a guy that is rising on some teams' boards

I'm sorry but we need to be recruiting this kid and hard. There would be mutual interest and we need to stop worrying about Gatewood's feelings and go hard for Fields.

Kodi is earning his wings. He is developing the talent we already have, and will begin to attract guys like Copeland.

It doesn't hurt that Copeland is pals with Gatewood, but Kodi will have to close the deal.

He has gotten a ton of heat for no reason IMO. Kids will listen to a former 5* who knows how the game is played.

The heat is rightfully deserved. We are competing for championships and traded D Craig. for a kid that has only coached at the D1 level for 1 year. Hell he only played wr for 1 year and wasn't that great at it.

He may turn out to be great but the skepticism is rightfully deserved
