1. Kelvin Joseph has a firm commitment timetable, and it’s somewhat positive news for Auburn.

SEC Country LSU reporter Sam Spiegelman was at the West practice to talk with Kelvin Joseph who has already been the subject of several updates this week (see below).

- Joseph talking about relationship with LSU coach Corey Raymond
- Could he be close to committing at the U.S. Army Bowl?
- Joseph sets Auburn official visit, outlines interest in Tigers

That second link talks about Joseph’s consideration to commit during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. If that would’ve been the case, it almost would’ve guaranteed Auburn was out. It’s still unlikely Joseph chooses the Tigers, but Joseph told Spiegelman that he’s set his commitment date for National Signing Day on Feb. 7. He’ll wait to take all of his official visits before making a decision.

On the outside looking in, that’s big news for Auburn.

Joseph will take an official visit to the Plains Feb. 2, so the coaching staff will now have an opportunity for one final sales pitch before Joseph makes his decision and signs. With that said, Joseph initially only brought up LSU and Alabama on Thursday before referencing Auburn and Florida State later in the interview.

2. Christian Tutt is spending his week recruiting other skill players — and not just in San Antonio.

When asked what he came to accomplish this week at the U.S. Army Bowl, Auburn signee Christian Tutt didn’t say anything about seeing how he stacked up against other prospect. Or that he just wanted to have a good time in San Antonio.

No, Tutt has turned his full attention to Auburn, and he wants the other best players in the country to join him.

Tutt has spoken with Joseph regularly throughout this week to make sure the Tigers are on his mind as a busy January approaches. He said he’s gotten good vibes from Joseph so far, but knows it’ll take that February official visit to get Auburn seriously in the conversation. Tutt feels his recruiting pitches are, at the very least, helping to keep the Tigers in contention for now.

He isn’t only staying on U.S. Army All-Americans, however. Tutt has been in touch with several players in Orlando, Fla., for the Under Armour All-American Game. He has been on the phone with Joey Gatewood, Matthew Hill, Anthony Schwartz, Justyn Ross and others in that game to make sure the Auburn commits in that game are holding up their end of the recruiting bargain.

3. Tutt is expecting good news from Anthony Schwartz on Thursday.

Speaking of recruits at the Under Armour Game, Tutt had a smirk come across his face when talking about Schwartz. Tutt sent this cryptic tweet on the first day of the early signing period.

He doesn’t want to confirm just yet who it was, but he decided not to deny whether or not it was Schwartz. The “nobody catching him” mantra matches up because Schwartz is arguably the fastest college football recruit in the nation. Plus, Tutt has a strong relationship with Schwartz after the two matched up against one another several times at the Opening.

While he wouldn’t confirm his prior tweet, Tutt said he fully expects Auburn to pick up good news when Schwartz makes his decision on Thursday night.

4* ATH Jerrion Ealy

Jerrion Ealy was impressive from the beginning. He showed great quickness and change of direction in the drills, then he went out and showed great ball skills during the 7-on-7 session. The Ole Miss commit is a complete back who could also be a weapon in the slot.

4* OT Kenyon Green

Keyon Green has a good frame and excellent length. He used his arm extension to keep defenders at bay and to the outside. He kept his feet moving while being physical and aggressive. Green is a former LSU commit and the Tigers are still in this. Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas A&M are three schools in which he has high interest.

4* LB Kevin Harris

Kevin Harris really created a buzz early flashing speed and athleticism going through the defensive line drills. He has great length, non-stop energy and drive to be the best. During the one-on-one session, he won more than he lost and his stock is on the rise.

4* OT Wanya Morris

There may not have been a more impressive performer than Wanya Morris. The Peach State offensive tackle has taken big strides over the past year and he was near perfect in this setting. He has a great frame and showed good punch and footwork against some top defensive linemen. The former Florida State commit hardly broke a sweat.

AU is in his top group FWIW

4* QB Bo Nix

It was not a great day to be a quarterback in Florida. It was around 40 degrees, the wind was constant and not many receivers were excited about catching the ball in those settings, but Bo Nix still flashed his skill set. He has a nice release, he was good at taking what the defense gave him and despite the conditions, he threw some nice passes down the field. The Rivals100 signal caller has a top three of Auburn, Clemson and Ohio State.

4* TE Austin Stogner

Oklahoma commit Austin Stogner is a big kid playing tight end and that size and catch radius showed Thursday. He has long arms and he was as consistent receiving the ball as anyone on the field. He has soft hands, he caught the ball away from his body and he really gave the quarterbacks a big, reliable target.

5* C Clay Webb

It was no surprise that Clay Webb was once again dominant in this setting. It seems like a broken record with him. Every event in which he competes, he shines. Webb is in great shape, he is naturally strong and he is tough to move. He worked at center and as expected, the five-star impressed. He currently favors Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia.

4* ATH Jordan Whittington

Jordan Whittington got open, he had the ball thrown his way and he hauled it in. He was very fluid with his routes, he was very quick in and out of cuts and he was sneaky fast. He got open off the line of scrimmage and he showed although he is listed as an athlete, he could be an elite receiver. Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA are some of the schools on his list.

4* S Brian Williams

Brian Williams was fluid in drills, broke well on the ball and covered like a corner in one-on-ones. He had at least a couple pass breakups and in 7-on-7 his instincts showed well. He has good size and excellent feet. He seems very interested in Notre Dame, Stanford and Texas.

4* CB Erick Young

Erick Young is a big kid; great size for a defensive back and very fluid for his size. He has good length and closes well. He showed good ball skills and backpedal in drills as well. LSU, TCU and Texas A&M currently stand out to Young.

Schwartz just committed to Auburn.

As a side note DTR is going to be really, really good in Chip kelly's offense.
