FRICK THAT we are getting Ross
You're probably spot on with everyone else though
LSU may not have room for Coynis

Yo Paw. Can you compile a list of names of the prospects who tweeted they received official AU offers? Would be interesting to see.

Good catch, interesting he only posted those 2
Added Tank Jenkins to tweeted other offers but not AU. He tweeted out all the teams but AU that were considered his top group. Backs up recent reports he missed his window
Kearis Jackson also tweeted an official AU offer

August Recruiting Snapshot
It's everyone's favorite monthly post! Where I write an obscene amount of words attempting to recap where AU stands in recruiting and who they might sign months from now. As always, this is just my opinion based off reporting done by 247, SECCountry, AL.com and others.
Commits
4* QB Joey Gatewood
4* S Quindarious Monday
4* LB Michael Harris
3* RB Shaun Shivers
3* S Jamien Sherwood
4* DE/DT Daquan Newkirk
3* OG/C Jalil Irvin
3* OG Kameron Stutts
3* WR Shedrick Jackson
3* ATH Kolbi Fuqua
3* Star Josh Marsh
2019 4* WR George Pickens
Busy month for commits as AU landed five, 4 in the 2018 class and one in 2019. The two big booms were Quindarious Monday and Michael Harris. It's safe to say both were at the top of AU's board. Jamien Sherwoood might have been #2 on the board as well. Josh Marsh was a surprise but after a strong camp in late July he earned an offer and committed on the spot. Tigers also kicked off their 2019 class in style landing the composite #90 player in the country and #3 in the state of Alabama in Pickens. Solid month
QB
5* Justin Fields --> AU/UGA/FSU battle where national writers say its Noles or Dawgs but AU "insiders" feel good about AU
RB
4* Asa Martin --> Commits August 24th. Top 4 of AU/BAMA/CLEM/UF. Tide considered team to beat
4* Dameon Pierce --> AU/UF appear to be top 2. Plans to wait to make decision
5* James Cook --> Never visited this summer, UGA lock
4* Harold Joiner --> again, who the frick knows, although he claims BAMA recruiting him the hardest
WR
4* Justyn Ross --> AU/BAMA/CLEM battle, everybody feels good
4* Matthew Hill --> SCAR is making a push, AU/BAMA/SCAR top 3 with decision possibly soon (heard that before)
4* Kearis Jackson --> commits Aug 19th, would be shock if not UGA
4* Seth Williams --> AU pushing hard but Bama still considered favorite
4* Anthony Schwartz --> AU/UGA/UF battle with Gators in the lead, decision could come soon
TE
4* Luke Ford --> BAMA/UGA battle with AU a distant 3rd, we become player if we land Fields AND show that TEs are people too in our offense
3* Michael Parker --> BAMA could be close to offering after missing on Wood-Anderson, if they do he's all Tide
3* Tyneil Hopper --> I think he's high on our board but not sure
Not much clarity at TE right now
OT
4* William Barnes --> UF/UNC battle, hasn't visited AU in awhile
4* Richard Gouraige --> will probably commit to Gators soon
4* Dylan Wonnum --> pushed back commit date presumably because AU made a push, teammate Michael Harris committed to AU, battling SCAR
4* Badara Traore --> officially visited late July, LSU probably biggest threat
4* Qadir White --> doesn't sound like he's a priority
NR Doug Johnson --> haven't heard much so probably still backup
OG
4* Trey Hill --> AU making a push, AU/UGA/FSU/CLEM battle, Dawgs considered the favorite
4* Tank Jenkins --> Might have missed commitment window, turning into MIZZ/LOU battle
3* Jerome Carvin --> AU/BAMA/TEN battle, Tide are favorites
DT
4* Coynis Miller --> pushed back commit date, AU/BAMA/LSU battle, AU still feels good
3* Jalen Cunningham --> still hasn't gotten green light from Bama
3* Tramel Walthour --> all UGA
4* Tayland Humphrey --> haven't seen much on him, got a random CB to FIU the other day
DE/Buck
4* Richard Jibunor --> AU/TEN battle with Tigers in good spot, will announce in August
3* Andres Fox --> AU/LSU/BAMA/STAN battle, Cardinal could make things interesting, pushed back commit date
4* Caleb Tannor --> Committed to UGA last month, AU will still recruit hard
4* Azeez Ojulari --> probably commits to Dawgs this month
3* Kayode Oladele --> landed AU offer at camp, quickly moving up the board
LB
4* JJ Peterson --> AU/BAMA/UGA battle with the Tide going to be hard to beat
4* Zakoby McClain --> weird recruitment, LSU might lead now despite never visiting
4* Channing Tindall --> landed FSU offer & they might be biggest threat now to SCAR, did not visit AU for camp
4* Quay Walker --> Bama commit but does not appear solid, visited AU apparently decked out in orange & blue
3* Rosendo Louis --> visited for cookout, name to watch if other guys start landing elsewhere (most notably McClain)
3* Nathaniel Watson --> looking like others higher on board
CB
4* Kyler McMichael --> Clemson commit, AU still pursuing
4* Jalyn Armour-Davis --> AU still pushing but slim chance of flipping
4* Christian Tutt --> grades are a concern which is why OHST, BAMA, FSU & maybe UGA have all passed, NEB the favorite now
3* Derek Turner --> impressed at camp late July, could end up being a top CB target
3* Jamari Brown --> landed AU offer at camp, Junior Rosegreen's nephew, not sure if offer commitable
3* Charles McClelland --> have not heard much in awhile
3* Kendrick Torain --> same here
3* JaKorey Hawkins --> appears lower on AU's board
Xavier Lanier --> heard nothing since BCW, name to track if he impresses this fall
S
3* Juanyeh Thomas --> turns out he was a safety target, took too long to commit & lost spot
3* Joseph Foucha --> probably lost his spot with Monday, Sherwood & Marsh committing
3* Myles Mason --> if he had a spot, it's gone now
AU appears done at safety
Class Prediction

4* QB Joey Gatewood (Commit)
4* RB Dameon Pierce --> Martin goes Bama, he becomes must sign
3* RB Shaun Shivers (Commit)
3* TE Tyneil Hopper
4* WR Justyn Ross --> #believe
4* WR Matthew Hill
4* WR Seth Williams --> not sure we can get both Ross & Williams but what the hell, let's have some fun
3* WR Shedrick Jackson
4* OT Dylan Wonnum --> hopefully Harris will be in his ear
4* OG Trey Hill --> this is a "what the hell" pick, sounds like AU staff thinks a big year could make this happen
3* OG/C Jalil Irvin (Commit)
3* OT/OG Kameron Stutts (Commit)
4* DE/DT Daquan Newkirk (Commit)
4* DT Coynis Miller --> really wished he committed in August
3* DE/Buck Kayode Oladele -> don't think Fox's inner circle is gonna let AU happen
4* Buck/LB Richard Jibunor
4* LB Michael Harris (Commit) --> OHST is about to take K'Vaughn Pope so don't think Harris ever gets offer, solid to AU then
3* LB Rosendo Louis --> thought about going Quay Walker but not feeling that bold yet

3* CB Jamari Brown --> not sure it's committable offer but gotta put someone at 2nd CB

3* S Kolbi Fuqua (Commit) --> Officially has bought in to playing safety
3* S Jamein Sherwood (Commit)
3* Star Josh Marsh (Commit)
Class Score: 273.33 (7-10)

Just for you man
FWIW it looks like Bama is about to get Slade Bolden who they like at WR and they feel good about Jaylen Waddle. They already have Xavier Williams so they might not have room for Seth Williams
As for Trey Hill and Justin Fields, it's August so I am gonna ere on the side of positivity

I honestly have no idea what the plan is at TE or CB. Hopefully we can jump all over some late bloomers in those spots because as of now I don't really see any 4* options at CB. Tutt maybe but he's got serious grade concerns with all those other teams passing on him

Auburn offers new tight end target Ben Sims, makes top 5 for Kayode Oladele (SECCountry)
quote:
Auburn finds new TE target
One of Auburn’s biggest mysteries in the 2018 recruiting cycle: tight end position.
The Tigers took two at the position in 2017 with junior college addition Sal Cannella and Colquitt County (Ga.) freshman John Samuel Shenker. But Cannella will play receiver more than tight end, so Auburn — while not desperate — would like depth behind Shenker at tight end.
But, for much of this recruiting cycle, it has been hard to find the prospects the Tigers want at the position.
A new target surfaced Tuesday when colleges were permitted to send formal scholarship offers to their top targets. Ben Sims announced on Twitter that Auburn had offered.
So who’s Sims?
He’s a 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end from San Antonio, Texas who is verbally committed to Baylor and has been since June 2. Sims is ranked as the No. 45 tight end in the nation and the No. 972 overall prospect by the 247Sports composite.
Aside from Baylor, Sims holds offers from Houston, SMU and Bowling Green. It’ll be interesting to see if the Tigers can get the Texas native on campus and create competition with Baylor.
Tyneil Hopper is the only other tight end who has been mentioned throughout the class, and his standing with the Tigers hangs in the balance. Sims could be next man up.

Miami DL has Tigers in top 5
Rodney Garner will attempt to piece together another exemplary recruiting class in the 2018 cycle. The Auburn defensive line coach has a track record of success — and this cycle expects to be no different.
So far, the Tigers only have one commitment on the defensive line, junior college commit Daquan Newkirk. There are several other options available such as Coynis Miller, Andres Fox, Richard Jibunor and others.
Another name to remember: Kayode Oladele.
Oladele is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end from Champagnat Catholic in Miami. He camped at Auburn two weeks ago and scored an offer. The Tigers left an impression on him because he released a top 5 with Auburn included. Auburn was joined by Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia and Ole Miss.
Oladele was once committed to Florida State, but he de-committed in May. The Seminoles are considered the favorite for Oladele’s services, but it could be a while before he makes a final decision. I’ve been told by someone close to Oladele’s recruitment that Auburn is in the top 3 with Florida State and Tennessee, though there could be a long way to go before an announcement.
When he was on campus, Oladele — a Nigerian native — spent most of his time with Prince Tega Wanogho and Prince Sammons.
Think it's safe to say that if we get this kid and Jibunor we have built a pipeline to Nigeria
