Thurs. Per BMatt on Bill Cameron's show, Matthew Hill will be there too.

I dislike Shivers because he is 5'6 and 160lbs

quote:

If Shivers wad built like Darren Sproles, he would be cool. But he is not,

How big do you think that Sproles Is?
He plays at 190 in the NFL. He was 180 at Kansas State.
And he was 165 as a HS recruit. Sound familiar?

And do you think Shivers is going to stay the same size and never gain weight?

Once again, you bitch about something without even knowing what you're talking about.

They actually look built extremely similarly to me. Both have huge thighs, suggesting a powerful lower body and a frame that can support more weight

Now watch Sproles HS highlights: LINK
And compare them Shivers highlights LINK
Once again extremely similar. Not saying Shivers will end up nearly as good as Sproles, but you're actually onto something with comparing Shivers to him

ETA:

Oh, and adding to comparison, both are HS track stars as well. Only Shivers is a good bit faster.
Sproles ran a 10.6 100m
As a junior Shivers set a PR of 10.47 in the 100m

10.47 is BLAZING fast btw.
For comparison Henry Ruggs who was considered one of the fastest recruits of 2017, already the fastest Bama player, set the Alabama State record for 7A with a 10.58 100m dash and claims a PR of 10.53

That's awesome! Maybe we can finally get him to pull the trigger this week. Not bad timing having Justin Fields on campus too

KN says 4* CB Christian Tutt might visit this month too

His recruitment has been an odd one where his top schools of Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia haven't seem to recruit him hard and now he's trending Nebraska

Finally got around to watching Kavosiey Smoke's tape. He's RB out of Wetumpka to keep an eye on. I am sold on him. 6'0" 210 lbs with great quickness and can run between the tackles effectively. Honestly surprised he hasn't gotten more buzz. Still would rather have Martin or Pierce but he's a solid backup option

Scout and Rivals JUCO rankings are now in the composite dropping Daquan Newkirk from a composite 4* to 3*. Not sure when this happened just noticed it tonight, so right now AU only has 1 composite 4* in Joey Gatewood committed

Hopefully that changes real soon

3* DT Jalen Cunningham just released his top 3 of Bama, OM & AU. He's all Tide if they want him

New Fields, Hill, & Kearis post from JLee FWIW. Says AU still feels very good about chances with Hill & could commit in coming weeks. Also AU likes it's chances better today than ever on Fields. JLee has little doubt AU leads for him. Jackson is more of a battle for AU with UGA.

Hunter agreed on Fields.

Given his history JLee being so confident in Fields scares the crap out of me, even with Hunter's backing.

Where do we stand with him?

He might be ours if we want him but he may be anywhere from #3 to #5 on our RB board.

I'll take him all day as an Athlete but given his current running style I don't see him doing well as an SEC RB.

To AU? I'd be pretty surprised if that happened.

You'd be surprised if Matthew Hill commits in the coming weeks to AU? Why? It seems we've led for half a year if not more.

Nevermind, when I read Fields, Jackson, Hill I was thinking Trey not Matthew since those three are supposedly the buddy package.

KN just posted that he's as confident as he's ever been about Coynis Miller landing at AU after talking to some people. Hints that having Tadarian Moultry has been a really good thing

If we somehow pull Miller that would be the first time an instate 4* DT has signed with AU since Saban arrived. That would be a nice streak to break

Also has VIP update on 4* CB Christian Tutt. Tutt says we are "in it" though we are trailing Bama, Nebraska and Ohio State. Apparently Bama and Ohio State have others higher on the board so the Cornhuskers are probably the team to beat. Tutt says he talks a lot with Greg Brown, Kevin Steele and Travis Williams. He plans to visit AU soon (probably July 22nd) and says we are recruiting him at the field CB spot. He does know that AU will get an official visit. He's not expected to commit until December

I tried to look back at the AU & Bama classes the last 10 years to cross reference this but 247 is having problems this morning. It's not letting me go past the 2018 class.

I double checked and that stat is wrong. Jamar Travis and Kenneth Carter both signed with AU & were composite 4*s still checking to see who else I might have missed
