So taking a perusal over the internet today and it appears FSU insiders think it's FSU for Fields, UGA insiders think it's all UGA, UF insiders still feel good about them and now AU insiders are saying AU has got this

There is gonna be some serious melting over this recruitment

I know everyone on this board (except for E and myself) hates AUFamily, BUT there is a guy on that forum (AUStudent23) that has some serious AU sources that just said we get Fields. FWIW. I am sure I will get 15 downvotes and negative responses so go for it. I can handle it.

Eh I don't hate AUFamily just think it's a pretty lame message board. Too restrictive and the whole Bird/Golf gags get old. FWIW I was a huge fan of AUEagle when that was running but left once they merged with AUFamily

23 has a pretty solid track record so gives me hope but I am taking everything with grain of salt right now. Like I said the AUStudent23 insiders for the other teams are all pretty positive for their sides. FSU 247 guys are thinking of switching CB picks to FSU from UF. UGA Rivals guys all seem to think UGA is in the driver's seat. Then you got national guys like Wiltfong who think the Gators are ahead.

Like I said on recruiting board, fact that we are close enough that distance shouldn't be a knock against us while we also have earlier opportunity to sell compared to UGA along with previous success with QBs like Fields, I like out chances. But I honestly have no idea where he lands at

Actually I'm pretty salty on AUFamily for letting a racist poster continually do his racist posting thing instead of banning him. I know there are racist people everywhere. I just don't want to see it expressed on a message board.

On 23 he is a sunshine pumper. He missed on a number of things the last few years. His opinions have to be backed by more down to Earth insiders like Mike & Hunter on the Bunker or WDE on AUFamily to make me feel good. His tone on his Fields posts sounds like an AU lock.

FTR the more down to Earth insiders like AUs chances too but don't make it sound like a lock. With all 4 teams insiders liking their chances right now I am just hope while waiting confidence to drop for 2 or 3 teams.

Too restrictive
Don't confuse AUFamily with Auburn Eagle. Different Mods who run the show. AUFamily has become the most leinent AU board in terms of bannings on things like heavy flaming. They rarely rarely ban posters even when warranted. Since it's a family site it's more restrictive on things like posting sexy pics but nothing is done to the poster.

I confess I haven't really been there in awhile so maybe that part has changed I just know when the merge happen the moderation went way up. I don't have a problem with people liking that site just doesn't fit me

3* CB Stanley Garner visiting this week. His offer list is legit. AU has been recruiting him for awhile I believe

Linebacker target Channing Tindall describes how close Auburn is at No. 2 (SECCountry)
quote:

Linebacker target explains how close race is

AUBURN, Ala. Since the beginning of spring, Channing Tindall stated that he wanted to see and hear more from Auburn.

Travis Williams has given him that wish.

Tindall, the linebacker from Spring Valley (S.C.), established a strong relationship with Williams who once suited up at linebacker for the same high school. Williams made it to Spring Valley a couple times during the evaluation period, and it went a long way to squeeze Auburn into the mix with South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.

That’s why Tindall made it to Big Cat Weekend. At that event, Auburn did much more than just become part of the conversation.

“Auburn is pretty high. I’d say they’re No. 2 on my list right now,” Tindall said.

South Carolina, the in-state school, remains No. 1. But the Tigers jumped Florida and Georgia after his most recent visit to the Plains. It won’t be easy to leapfrog the Gamecocks, but Tindall said the Tigers are “battling real close” right now.

How close is it?

“I’d say it’s a one-second win if it was a track meet,” Tindall said.

That’s closer that I would’ve guessed.

South Carolina has recruited Tindall from start-to-finish. He admitted the opportunities to “change the culture” and “be with family” are the primary forces driving him to stay in Columbia, S.C. But the fact Auburn made such great headway in a one-week span says a lot about how the Tigers are trending.

I wrote last week about the linebacker options remaining for the Tigers. Tindall has emerged as perhaps the best linebacker remaining, if you exclude JJ Peterson — heavily considering Alabama — from contention.

An entire summer remains before Tindall will announce.

“I’ll probably make my decision in my first two games of the college season,” Tindall said.

I really like his tape. Reminds me some of Zach Cunningham (though he's bigger than Cunningham was at this point I believe). Not a flashy LB but gets to the ball and is a sound tackler. I think it's gonna be hard to swipe him away from Muschamp

DL from Georgia breaks down recent Auburn visit, offer

Tramel Walthour experienced something few others did for Big Cat Weekend.

Most of the Tigers’ attendees for the event were regulars on the Plains. Walthour was a first-timer after having picked up an offer shortly before the trip. The 3-star defensive tackle from Liberty County (Ga.) enjoyed his first trip to Auburn.

“I like it. It’s real fun out here. I like the campus a lot too,” Walthour said. “Just that it’s a family atmosphere. Everybody feels like family up here. …I’m just looking for the place I feel at home. I want to go see some other schools and everything to see what fits me best.”

Auburn DL target Tramel Walthour (Benjamin Wolk/SEC Country)
The Tigers offered Walthour on May 24, the same day as Ohio State. Tennessee and Arkansas have followed suit. That May 24 experience was, as Walthour described it, somewhat surprising to see two of the top programs in the nation offer on the same day.

The Auburn offer, especially, piqued his interest, which resulted in his Big Cat visit.

“I was excited. It’s one of the top schools, asking you to come play for them. That’s always nice,” Walthour said. “They really want me to come see the campus more and everything, get to know the coaches and the players more.”

Walthour is ranked a 3-star defensive tackle by the 247Sports composite ranking. He is the No. 47-ranked defensive tackle nationally. At 6-foot-4 and 277 pounds, Walthour said he feels comfortable playing as an interior or exterior defensive lineman.

Is recruiting a bit slower in the SEC this year?

Just banter I over heard, but seems abama total number of recruits are down this year (18'totals) and so Saban was being even more selective and slower in choosing. Was wondering if them with only 3 commits might be effecting recruiting, that perhaps their top-shelf guys being slow played might be creating a ripple effect throughout the SEC? I don't really follow most recruiting beside the AU battles.

I think the new recruiting rules that were just passed has slowed things down in the short run for the more sought after players and some of the better teams.

New signing period is implemented this year right?

I imagine there are a lot less committable offers + a lot of kids who would rather wait now

The signing period will last 72 hours, beginning Dec. 20 and running through Dec. 22. Players who choose to sign early this year can take official visits after their senior year of high school begins, as has been standing NCAA policy. (For future years, the official visit period is slated to move up to April during players’ junior years.)

Signing Period: Dec 20-22

Also of note, JR year OV possible
