Well they're right this year. The last two OL recruiting classes we've brought in are almost all exclusively guard heavy/raw or projects. Troxell and Ashley are more polished and have a very clear path to playing time.
As I said in their recruiting thread though- you take a guy like Troxell any way you can get him

He and Ashley are both prototype OT. What they can do, and the agility at their size is obviously untraceable.

Mr. The Jones, can you update commit post on page 1 please?

So wonder who the 4th OL on our board is? Brahms seems like our #3 target but I know they want at least 4 OL this cycle
On another note 4* DT Aubrey Solomon committed to Michigan out of nowhere. I know he is a top DT target but was thought to be either UGA or AL lean

I'll update it by the end of the month. I've got most of the new stuff of a word document on my desktop. Starting football season it will be updated weekly
Edit: went ahead and updated commits (minus the LS). I'll update targets by the end of the month.

Hell yea, is he an EE?

Some weekend updates
- 2018 WR Camron Johnson showed up this weekend as well and got lots of attention, name to keep an eye on for next cycle
- Gus drove Jones & Mond around in his new car. It also apparently wowed Wilder. I want one recruit this year to say they chose AU because of that car
- AU offered 2019 WR Jalen Curry who visited with Mond & Jones
- Apparently focus on Jones was academics which is big with his family
- Mond & Jones headed to Tuscaloosa for Sunday visit, Jones is a WR target for the Tide, Mond just going along for the ride. Keep them both away from Reuben Foster
- KN doesn't believe UGA is as in control for Ignont as has been reported, also thinks if AU pushes for Britt we can get him
- 4* LB Tyler Taylor spent day with AU commit Chandler Wooten and had good time. He is visiting Bama as well this weekend
- We will get an official visit from Wilder. If we miss on both Benton & Ignont but land Taylor & Wilder I would be ok with that

K.J. Britt of Oxford (Ala.) High visited Auburn on Friday and Saturday, and said his plans to announce a commitment to a school Aug. 6 could be delayed.
“I’m trying to (commit in August),” Britt said after visiting Auburn. “If I don’t, I’ll just postpone it, but I’m trying to (commit somewhere).”
Britt is a four-star prospect and is rated the nation’s 12th-best inside linebacker, released a top 10 in April: Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
He then mentioned five schools by name Saturday: Auburn, Georgia, Stanford, Florida and Michigan. He’s also trying to determine whether he will visit LSU again.
“I can’t even name a leader right now,” Britt said. “Everything is so close. I’m enjoying Stanford, Florida. I’m enjoying those two schools a lot. I can’t name a leader right now. Everything has been picking up a lot.”
Britt’s mind doesn’t sound anywhere near a final decision. He said an iteration of “I don’t know” three times during a three-minute interview about the recruiting process. “Auburn is there,” he said. “They’re always going to be there.”

Malcolm Askew is a busy man on the recruiting trail, even if his commitment to Auburn seems to be set in stone.
He has shut things down — for now — and is concentrating on solidifying more commitments for the Tigers, especially those inside the state of Alabama.
“I feel like we’re winning the state right now,” Askew said. “That’s the big thing.”

De’Andre Wilder figured Father’s Day was a perfect time to spend time with his father at Auburn.
The linebacker out of Opa Locka, Fla., booked a flight to Atlanta to spend the weekend with his father, but not before a quick trip down Interstate 85 to visit the Tigers with family.
His first visit to Auburn resulted in some good news for the Tigers: Wilder will include Auburn when he trims his list of favorites to five schools in September. He also plans to take an official visit to Auburn in the fall, possibly in November.
“The school, they have a great confidence,” he said. “The dorms are nice.”
Wilder praised the coaches, the relationships he’s building with linebackers coach Travis Williams and defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, and his placed his plans to major in business management at the forefront of conversations.
“They tell me about family first and football second,” Wilder said.

Four-star offensive tackle Austin Troxell has committed to Auburn.
He committed following a visit to Auburn on Saturday.
Troxell, a Madison (Ala.) Academy star, was split between Alabama and Auburn for several months during the recruiting process.
“It’s a burden lifted off my shoulders,” Troxell said after his visit to Auburn. “I finally got my decision made. No looking bad. One hundred percent Auburn right now. I’m ready.”
Troxell said the commitment is final and he will not visit any other schools this fall.
“Nothing against any other school, I just fit in here best personally,” Troxell said. “It fits me the best. That’s what made my decision for me.”
The 6-foot-7, 275-pounder is rated the nation’s No. 13 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports.
The laid-back atmosphere at Auburn’s annual Big Cat Weekend in early June was a “big day for me” and “basically finalized my decision,” Troxell said.

What did Jones like about his visit to Auburn? The environment.
“It’s beautiful and I love the environment,” he said. “The team, you can bond with them very easily. They’re not stuck-up or anything and I like them a lot.”
Jones said he plans to visit Auburn again in the future, making the potential for Auburn remaining in his top four seem more likely than not. He said he was impressed with receivers coach Kodi Burns and his father was happy with the visit as well.
“I have to finish taking my visits before I narrow it down again to a top four, but really I’m just keeping my options open, visiting every school and getting their insight,” he said.

Kellen Mond’s third visit to Auburn ended much like his other two, but with one difference: Auburn is not necessarily No. 1.
The Tigers were listed as his favorite shortly after rescinding his commitment to Baylor, but he now says Auburn and Texas A&M are tied at the top. He will commit to one of the two schools before July 17.
“I really don’t have a No. 1 right now,” Mond said. “I went to A&M last weekend and Auburn this week, so it’s pretty even. I’ve just got to get back and talk to my parents and see how they feel with the environment, type offense, and just weigh everything out with my decision.”
Mond said he will probably make the announcement on Twitter.
“It’s going to be a big day, probably blow up all over Twitter and all over the Internet, but once my decision is in, I plan to shut my recruitment down and juts really focus on that school,” Mond said.
Mond transferred to IMG Academy last season and will finish his high school career at the Bradenton, Fla., school this fall.
What his parents think of the schools will factor into his decision. Mond visited Texas A&M last week with his father. His father was on Auburn’s campus Friday and Saturday.
“My mom hasn’t been to Auburn or A&M, so I guess inform her on what the positives and negatives are for each school,” Mond said. “My dad has been with me on both visits, so he kinda knows the positives and negatives. My dad told me it’s my decision but he’s going to tell me the positives and negatives of both schools and it’s my time to make the decision.”
Mond’s father likes A&M, too, and Mond doesn’t see much difference in the two offenses.
“I think I fit both,” Mond said. “I wouldn’t have any preference. I think I fit both. Running the ball isn’t going to hurt me or anything else. Running the ball in the Auburn offense or being more of a pro quarterback in the Texas A&M offense, I think I would fit both very well.”

Troxell is a 4-star prospect who's ranked 80th in the 2017 class. He also checks in as the No. 13 offensive tackle and second-best player from Alabama, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Before making his choice, he received interest from several top programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida and Florida State.
The Alabama native has displayed an impressive combination of size (6'7", 275 lbs), power and athletic ability for Madison Academy when healthy. Unfortunately, a torn ACL during the latter stages of his junior campaign slowed his development for a while.
Still, he's been in the spotlight for quite some time already, and he admitted to Daniel Boyette of AL.com that the recruiting process got a bit "hectic" as a junior. He tried to focus as much as possible on continuing to make the necessary strides despite the potential distraction of the widespread interest in him.
"My technique has gotten a lot better," Troxell said. "Coaches are always on me about my footwork. And my strength. I've gotten a lot stronger."
He could benefit from adding even more raw strength to his frame, but it's a delicate balance. The Auburn coaching staff won't want him to lose his small-area quickness by bulking up too much.

Troxell's highlights for any that haven't seen him. Dude finishes plays (although this is the highlight tape). Some good Miller runs in there as well

Is it weird that I really love the idea of getting a linebacker that can get into Stanford? Seems like a good thing to me that a guy smart enough to get into Stanford could be a leader on the defense.
