Tucker could be a good OL, he just has some bad weight right now. He plays at Roswell HS and is 6'-07" & 330ish.

Wilder is still a flip candidate. Kid prefers getting away from the neighborhood. He is likely just reserving a spot IYAM. Hoping for the right situation to develop elsewhere.

Imagining how he would pronounce this kid's name is just such an occasion.

KN says we have offered 3* Noah Igbinoghene. Says we are leader

Would not be shocked if he committed this weekend. He really wanted an offer

He's the national champ in triple jump I think. Parents are both Olympians. His HS coach is a malzhan protege

Glad we offered. Tired of getting burned on similar guys that are athletic freaks but 3* because late bloomer or needs development like Vic Beaslet, Zac Cunningham, De'Runnya Wilson. Give me more Sammie Coates and Kamryn Pettway.

3* CB Shawn Shamburger commits to Vols. We were his first legit offer and considered team to beat. Vols just recently offered

3* ATH JaTarvious Whitlow named us leader. Grades are question right now

Some updates from KN on the weekend

- Britt is now recruiting for us. He has targeted 4* S Devon Hunter, 4* LB Tyler Taylor, 4* S CJ Avery & 4* WR Jeremiah Holloman. He really liked that staff treated him same way on visit this weekend

- AU commit 4* ATH Alaric Williams has some work to do academically after very poor freshman & sophomore years. He claims he is 1 pt away on the ACT & that he is 100% committed to AU. Something interesting is that he says he isn't that close with the offensive guys but is real good friends with Moultry & Britt

- 4* CB Christopher Henderson was on an official visit to AU this week. He's a former Cane commit & said visit exceeded his expectations. Was impressed by the crowd for a Vanderbilt game. Put us in his top group with UF, MIA & UGA. Tentatively planning to announce at Under Armor All-American game. Gators team to beat right now

- UGA commit 4* OG Netori Johnson wants to take an official to AU. KN thinks it's a very longshot but you never know if you can get em to visit

- 3* DT Tyrone Truesdell visited for Vandy game & puts us in his top group with Louisville, Ole Miss & Florida. Sounds like we are just now starting to push for him. He has set official visit for the other 3 teams in his top groups & says chances are pretty good AU gets one too

I work with his mom, who happens to be an Olympic bronze medalist. She says he's going to ride out the recruiting experience and take his visits, but we're the leader by quite a margin.

For the uninitiated, it's pronounced Ig-bin-ah-geh-nee.

Now we know who to blame if he doesn't pull the trigger

SEC Country recruiting weekend recap

Part that jumped out to me for Henderson
quote:

Henderson spent a lot of his time with secondary coach Wesley McGriff. But his interactions and conversations with some of the current defensive backs on the roster could prove the most vital.

Carlton Davis and Jeremiah Dinson are both members of the Auburn defensive backfield who originate from the Miami area. That hometown connection was a centerpiece of conversation this weekend.

That will help the Tigers.

“It’s very big. They got to tell me how they really felt about it, and I know they came where I come from,” Henderson said. “I can relate a lot.”

I think we have some work to do but it would be big to land this kid

One of our top 2018 targets 4* OG Trey Hill visited this past weekend. Considered an UGA lean right now but AU has made him a priority. Visited us 3 times & visiting UGA a 3rd time this weekend. He is teammates with UGA QB commit Jake Fromm. Uphill battle for sure but at least early on looks like we running #2. UF, FSU & Tennessee also in the running

Maybe he won't want to be the #2 guard in the class he signs with. UGA is probably gonna get that Salyer kid so maybe it will help us.

KN has good story on Anders Carlson explaining why his stats don't tell the whole story. In Colorado HS football a missed FG puts the ball at the 20 yd line so their coach basically attempts FGs if they are within 75 yds. 7 of his 10 misses are from 55+ yds including a ridiculous 74 yd attempt that went wide

KN also had update on Jarrett Stidham ($)

quote:

It sounds like it's going to be AU or TAMU when all is said and done.

As you know Gigem247 reported awhle back the Aggies told Kellen Mond's family they weren't pursuing Stidham (we never fully believed that was the case). But we all know how recruiting works and it sounds like TAMU does want him.

I have no idea how the Monds will react if A&M lands Stidham. No way for me to know.

All I know is some people we trust in Aggieland thinks that program has a great shot there. Time will tell.

In the meantime, the plan continues to be for Stidham to visit Auburn soon. His girlfriend's soccer season is over, so the Alabama A&M game is a possibility.

This is all I know at this time.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Mond. I know his dad was not happy about first rumors of Stidham being recruited. Later in the thread KN says that he thinks Narcisse is #2 on our list at QB behind Stidham

#1 player in state of AL for 2018 4* WR Justyn Ross visited this past weekend. He is former teammates with John Broussard however he is VERY close friends with AL commit 4* LB Markail Benton. Right now says AU, BAMA & UF recruiting him the hardest. No timetable on commitment. Will be a big AU/AL battle all next cycle but I think right now Bama has the edge with them having Benton committed

Burns youth a plus for WR target
quote:

Is it a plus or minus that Auburn receivers coach Kodi Burns is only in his mid-20s?

That question was posed to 4-star wide receiver Noah Igbinoghene of Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.), a top Tigers target.

“I think it’s a plus just because he can kind of relate,” Igbinoghene said. Not saying older coaches can’t, but he really just, not graduated, but just really went through this. So he can relate better than older coaches.”

Burns offered Igbinoghene, the No. 32 receiver in the 247Sports rankings, a scholarship last weekend. The Tigers soon after became the favorites in the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

The offer “meant a lot to me, just because it’s in state,” Igbinoghene said. “Any in-state (offer), that’s kind of big, especially in Alabama.”

At times, being patient while waiting for the offer to come wasn’t easy.

“At first it was difficult, but then I kind of knew I’d get it. And it got easier and easier. Everybody just told me to be patient.”

Besides Auburn, Igbinoghene said Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Duke also are strongly being considered.

As for the Tigers, the plan there is to “utilize my speed in every way possible.”
