4* DE McTelvin Agim notes per AUC

-Horton saw him late last week
-Talks to AU a lot
-Likes AU depth chart
-He has visited Auburn twice
-ESPN just made him a 5-star
-Doesn't know if/when he'll visit AU again
-AU OV is possible

If we land the 4 already mentioned then I respectfully disagree w/ the first sentence. I have no problem w/ getting a joco DL or 2 in this class.

I agree with you there, hence I said that would be a very solid class by itself. I have no issues with a JUCO or 2 on top of that for depth reasons either, particularly with Daniel likely to be gone now. As you say, we need DT depth badly.

Garner has really screwed the pooch

Haven't really been impressed with him since he came home. I would much rather have Rocker.

Rocker wouldn't do any better recruiting against Pruitt in Georgia.

I wasn't speaking of just recruiting. The DL played nasty under Rocker. I feel like they have played soft under Garner.

The OP was at that point.

FIFY. The rest of the DL while Rock was here was nothing to write home about. He coached the 2009 & 2011 DLs that were soft also.

Apparently you were in a coma during the 2009 season.

shite, Eli Stove has been on "commitment watch" for a solid two months now. How sad is it going to be if he ends up committing to Florida LOL?
Pretty sure he was told to hold off going public with his commitment until BCW...

To be honest I don't remember anything about our Ds outside of the title game years of 2010 & 2013. The rest are clumped together in my mind as AB (After Boom).

I remember the 25 rushing TDs that Auburn gave up that year were the most in school history.

A record that still stands today even after 2011 & 2012 happened.

Did they play "nasty" in 2009? Or only in 2010 when Fairley had a fire lit under his arse?

Know who played "nasty" in 2009 and 2010, solid and regularly? Josh Bynes and Craig Stephens.

Coached by who? Ted Roof.

It was much more than Fairley in 10. He was the big name, but the run D was stout. In 2009 our depth was razor thin. 11 was a clustermess all the way around. Rocker is a far superior DL coach compared to Garner, IMO.

Zac Clayton played great in 2010 at the 1 tech. Go back and look at how many times he would be in on tackles near the sideline. Mike Blanc did well as a passrushDT in 2010 because he was allowed to bullrush like he liked. I believe both were drafted, ZC by Rocker with the Titans and MB by the Chargers.

Btw Rocker Left after 2010, Pelton coached 2011.

Huh.

Amazing how you find any excuse when what you claimed was BS in the first place. That 2009 DL was never "nasty."

Antonio Coleman - SR
Mike Blanc - JR
Jake Ricks - SR
Antoine Carter - JR
Nick Fairley - RS-SO
Michael Goggans - JR
Zach Clayton - JR

at being razor thin. He had a 2-deep of upperclassman FFS.

ETA: Clayton did miss half the season with injuries. Also Gabe McKenzie (SR) spent time at DE in 2009 as well.

All fair & valid points & thank you for the correction Capt. I had completely forgotten Pelton was here.

What do you mean "huh?" Just because you have bodies it does not mean you quality depth. We really had no one at DT behind Ricks ( great guy but terrible player) and Blanc. We were so thin at DE that 190lb true freshman Dee Ford was playing.

So name all those extra guys that provided quality depth to turn a completely shitty DL performance in 2009 into one of the SEC bests in 2010.

TFR Jeff Whitaker?
TFR Kenneth Carter?
RSFR Nosa Egua?
SO Jamar Travis?

Are those the guys who propelled Rocker into the quality depth he needed to make a decent DL?

Not going to argue about this anymore. I will just leave you with this.........if you didn't see a difference in DL play in 2010, year two under Rocker, then you either have a bad memory or didn't watch. IF you think Fairley was the only reason for the stellar play in 2010, you aren't very smart.
