Then everyone complains about getting a 3 star.

I think our LBs played better than all of last year. They clearly did not expect the shiftiness and speed of the FR QB. There were a lot of bad angles taken on him that would have gotten them sacks on 9/10 other QBs

They should have expected it, after they kept running the same damn play over and over and over.

Our LBs couldn't beat him to the sideline and if we cut off that angle, he would have squirted through a hole inside. Not much you can do about that

You always keep outside contain first as an outside linebacker. They teach you that in Pop Warner. It's nothing new. Plus, those big uglies were clogging up that middle pretty good. Except for on that 4th down QB draw up the middle...

I agree they should have contained outside better, but when their QB is quick enough to run back 2-3 yards go around DE then beat you to the sideline your hands are tied.

Our LBs definitely need to do better in that situation, but their QB deserves credit. He was incredibly athletic

I was impressed by the LB play. They were better than all of last year.

The problem is every QB looks incredibly athletic against us. Hell, even AJ McCrying's 6 flat 40 self ran for some 1st downs on us in the 2013 IB. I'll never forget that. I was like, how does that happen?

But, you remember that one time Frost ran down Manziel? I guess he thinks since he made that one play, he can take the rest of his career off.

don't know what the solution is

The solution is speed. We used to be the fastest defense in the SEC when we had great defense. We lost that overarching identity and it shows.

Absolutely. I thought our LB play overall was top tier in the SEC. They looked great, played fast, flowed to the ball wherever it went and tackled extremely well.

Sometimes the ball carrier (QB in UL's case) is just tough to corral. He's basically Nick Marshall 2.0.

Hold on KK! We can't have any of this positive BS. You are supposed to whine, and b*tch.

And if you have a retired wrestler as an Avi, you even add a hint of estrogen to top it off.

I liked Daniels' Vick comparison moreso than Marshall. Marshall used his power/strength to give him time while Lamar Jackson tucked and ran. Marshall was amazing at extending and not giving up on pass play.

Lamar Jackson simply tucked and run trying to evade. Marshall was insane at being wrapped up and staying on his feet/breaking "sure sacks"

Went back & watched of all of his snaps. That guy is slippery. We didn't play the read option all that great & then when we did we repeatedly missed the first tackle allowing him to get 8+ more yards. Jackson is going to be a terror for the next few seasons if Petrino let's him play. He threw surprisingly accurate as well

Our DE's sucked at sealing the ends. Constantly crashing down and minimal containment. Harris can be elusive, but he won't have the wheels that UL's Jackson had.

Lambert struggled a lot with that. Also President got schooled back to back on that first TD. He got sucked in on the first one. Then plays it perfectly next & Jackson makes one move & is by him for the TD. So frustrating...

Harris can run but definitely not like Jackson. I think that will be the most elusive QB we see all season. Really wish we had landed him. Dude would set records in Gus's offense
