He told the coaches that he was hurt before the spring game and wanted to sit out. They told him to dress but planned to just not play him but the next thing they know, he's standing on the sideline in street clothes. I have no problem with Tre Threat not wanting to play in the Spring if he's injured. It's the Spring so there is nothing to be gained by him playing injured. You are not going to get better playing through injury in an exhibition game. It's possible he thinks he has it made and thinks he is better than everyone elae but I don't think that is clearly seen from your story. The only thing I agree with is him being in street clothes then going to dress out just because Boom showed up is poor leadership. Even if he had issues with the coaches he should have dressed out initially as they asked.

They're both good players. Honestly, I think CFA is a better RB. His running style, vision, and frame remind me of Demarco Murray.

Yeah, I knew I'd get comments on that comparison.

But, let's not act like Demarco Murray was always a superstar. He averaged less than 4.5 ypc his last two years @ OU and was drafted around the same spot as Tre Mason.

Archer four-star receiver Kyle Davis didn't have much time to spend in Auburn on Thursday, so the senior from Lawrenceville, Ga. made it count.

Davis, ranked No. 158 in the Rivals250, watched Auburn receivers coach Dameyune Craig in action during a camp, and then met with him and Gus Malzahn after.

"It was good to get some 1-on-1 time with them," Davis said. "It was good to actually get to know them and converse with them. They showed me love, showed a lot of interest.

"I liked watching Coach Craig in camp. I didn't see him get mad at all and I was getting frustrated just watching kids drop the ball. He's real calm, cool and collected."

Davis, 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, plans to return to Auburn in the fall. He'll have more time then to spend on campus than he did on Thursday.

"I plan on visiting for a game," Davis said. "I'm about to wrap up my summer."

Davis plans to visit Tennessee on Saturday. He also will trek to South Carolina before the end of the summer, but has yet to set a date. Davis is currently focusing on three schools, but declined to name them on Thursday.

As for a commitment, Davis doesn't have a timetable, but the sooner the better.

"I'll probably commit mid-season," Davis said "I really would like to get it over with because it's tough. It's overwhelming and I'm trying so hard to just focus on my school, but it's hard to."

The 6-foot-4, 322-pound Brown is the No. 3 tackle and No. 9 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.

There are 28 predictions for Brown in the 247Sports Crystal Ball -- all for Georgia. But Brown -- and other sources -- have said Auburn is in the hunt.

Brown last visited Auburn on May 30 for the Tigers' Big Cat recruiting event.

Auburn is hosting a cookout Saturday and several top recruits are expected to be on campus, notably 5-star offensive tackle commit Calvin Ashley.
