Also, going on basketball recruiting, I'm sure most of those "Adidas" AAU players will likely not go to Adidas schools unless they are leaving the South.

Only major Adidas schools in the South are Louisville and TAMU. Only Adidas schools with a huge pull are really Kansas, UCLA and Indiana (maybe Michigan/Wisconsin). I doubt UCLA will need to venture out from CA

Last two years Louisville has out pulled Kansas once and UCLA and Indiana both years. Most likely stemming from UL's championship.

Idk what that says about where Adidas is going but interesting to note.

Having Pitino, a legend, As well as down years by IU and uCLA helps. Also, BBall recruiting is heavily affected by how many scholarships you have available.

I don't doubt that those schools could give us a run for our money with those kids, just believe that we will pull a huge number of them.

I watched Horace Spencer, New Williams, Danjel Purifoy, and TJ Dunans highlights tonight to keep the faith.

Dunans is going to be an immediate impact player next year no doubt in my mind.

The best player that will make the team go next year is on scout team right now. Canty will have the biggest impact next year. By all accounts he is the Pearl PG we are missing right now. We would look so much better in the open floor right now if he could play.

Talk about coming out of left field

Kareem Canty is not out of left field. He's a transfer sitting out a year who averaged 16 ppg and 5.5 apg last season for Marshall as a true freshman.

You should also check Bryce Browns highlights. Dude is underrated. His game is similar to New Williams, he can shoot and he's athletic enough to play above the rim on offense.

I'm saying his comment was kinda out of left field. I know who the dude is I mean come on now

He's the least I'm impressed with so I didn't watch his highlights tonight.

edit: if it's something about AU hoops it's on the safe side to expect me to know the only one that possibly keeps up more on this board is MCT. He's even on a crazier level than myself.

I keep up with the basketball team as much as I do the football team. Haven't missed watching a game in a few years. Just don't talk about it as much. It's a sore subject

Not at all. You mentioned the newbies plus you thinking Dunnans will be an impact player. I brought up Canty because he is just as notable as the rest and will have an immediate impact also. Therefore the post made logical sense.

Please dear loard above, let us sign at least one player that can make a contested lay-up.

Amen.

Speaking of Dunans, I was trying to find some info on the guy. I can't find any news on him this year. I tried even looking at his team and didn't see him in the starting lineup. Is he redshirting this year?

Narrow your google search from November 1st til now and you'll find current stuff on him. He is playing...apparently being more of a passer this year..

FWIW saw this from respected basketball insider Stephen Hooks.
quote:

Your comment on Canty is spot on. He would not put up with that stuff.

From watching he is tough and lets it be known when others are acting inapropriately.

It was in response to this.
quote:

Canty, we know what we are getting. Bowers can be as good as he wants to be or be a head case...I think Canty reels in Bowers. He won't put up with his downside.

If true it looks like Canty will bring some much needed assertive leadership to next year's team along with quality PG play.

JLee just did the dredded 70% on 5*s Josh Langford & Austin Wiley.

FWIW either Stephen Hooks or Skip Jansen said JL is thinking about joining a dream team Duke class and some in his family are pushing that.

If he is going to join a dream team he might as well go to Kentucky.
