How can anyone not want to beat bama? I mean if it is any sport against them I hope we beat them! I don't believe Pearl would last if he didn't beat bama occasionally. That is his job. Bama could have stayed with Grant but Bruce's success got him fired.

Going 50/50 vs Kentucky and Alabama is better than going undefeated vs Bama and winless vs Kentucky.
Look at the University of Arizona and their rivalry with Arizona State. That has been a split 4/5 years despite ASU being an average program in comparison. UArizona seems to be doing just fine with their three Elite8s and top seeding in the tournament

Beating UK makes a statement to recruits and country. Beating Alabama makes a statement to the 5% of people in Alabama who watch BBall

Apparently (per TeamStream) we were fined 100K for the students storming the court. That's a steep arse penalty for a petty offense.

It was the second offense. The first was a 50,000 penalty and each offense after the first will add another 50,000 evidently.

Lot of issues with players/fans getting hurt, property damage and things like that.
Liability wise, it is nuts.
