Nah he is right. Time to beat Bama. We lost twice to them last year so it's time to get a W ourselves.

No way.
Who thought Auburn could beat Kentucky?

Beating Kentucky had me out searching for an OA Newspaper this morning to frame and go along with my collection... beating Alabama would be just a sweet conference win but nothing more

That's crazy talk. I'd much rather win against a ranked Kentucky than a middling Alabama.

Serious question, if this Kentucky team continues to lose some games, maybe 10 overall and loses first or second round in the tournament, does the win lose its luster then? Because right now Calipari says there will probably be some lineup changes so their program really isn't all that hott right now.
Beating Alabama would be more than a sweet conference win for me. Knowing that they didn't want to be left behind, Alabama hired Avery Johnson because they knew they needed to act fast after watching Pearl do work in his first season. Alabama also got a 5* commitment one day after we did. How the frick does that happen? They are clearly gunning for us and the rivalry between those two coaches is already bigger than just a sweet conference win. I would argue that Kentucky is just a "sweet conference win."

We hadn't beaten Kentucky in 16 years man. I was in like the 3rd grade. You can spin it whatever way you want and I don't care if Kentucky loses every game from here on out.
It's a bigger win and will always be a bigger win than beating Alabama.

I'm glad to end the streak; I never said otherwise. I was talking about your "Alabama is just another sweet conference win" comment. It's much more than that.

Alabama is just slightly above being just another conference game to me in basketball. I'd much rather beat someone who has some type of hardware in the trophy case like UK, Ark or UF.

I don't understand how beating the main rival is so meh to you people. Beating a team that is currently #23 in the rankings at home was cool and all but I really don't get goosebumps from it. We lose this next game and that's the third loss to our in state school. That shite matters.

Bama is a middling team we sometimes beat and sometimes lose to.
I don't like any loss, but if we are going to win one and lose one between UK and Bama, I chose beating Kentucky every time.

The rivalry begins and ends in football for me. I can actually pull for them without faking it in any other sport.

I don't understand that mentality but whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Beating UK does more for our program than beating Alabama 4x straight.
You don't become relevant or respected by beating other shittyv programs like Bama. The Wimp years are long gone and Alabama is just another trash basketball school like we've been

Canty was in a boot yesterday but didn't seem to be limping at practice today.
Posted on 1/18/16 at 3:57 pm to marshallcotiger
We lose Canty and we won't win another game. Not likely to win many more as it is.

And you don't become relevant or respected by losing to other "trashy" programs either. So saying "if I had to lose, I'd prefer the loss to be to Bama" is absurd. I could understand if we had beaten Bama's brains out the past 10 ten times we played them because then beating Bama would seem mundane. But that isn't the case now is it?
The basketball rivalry is going to continue to grow once Pearl and Avery start getting their players. Just watch it
