The new culture at AU is 1-0. It reaches farther then has been explained to the masses and even the team. They get it on a daily basis and will take a couple years to fully entrench itself throughout the entire program and into the fan base.

As a coach for me it means win the day, win the drill, win 1 on 1’s resulting in winning the game. That mentality will be challenged this week. The buy in will be challenged. It doesn’t only apply to Bo however the embodiment of it is more likely to be seen in Bo because the camera always shows him. The 1-0 mentality is to win every drill and every moment but no one plays a perfect game ever, ever. So if you do lose a moment you move on to the next one and win it or the play or the drill or the practice.

Going on the road will bring a big challenge to the new approach. Will Bo be able to put a bad throw or bumbled catch behind him and move to the next play. Will Brahms in pass pro get pushed back into the pocket and then win the next one. When a DE does a inside move on Bro Hamm does he move his feet and not reach and try to push. Win the play. Win the play. Do we let a first and 15 set us back and not move forward?

In my opinion so far the experienced players on the team have embraced the mentality. Essentially they have bought in so far and it’s worked. Do they continue if there are failures at certain points of the game and with the experience I think they stay the course.

I think with that experience we are able to run on Penn State. I think Bo plays a fairly clean game and also incorporates his legs some rushing for over 50 yards. I think we see a more diverse multiple defense and is able to control the run game of Penn State. How do our coverage packages work will be a big factor in my opinion.

With all that being said I think we are able to run enough to control the clock and get some big plays in the air it won’t be easy and we will all be biting our nails but in the end the Tigers roar and pass test number 1.
