Sucks, but saves $7 million over 2 years. If they cut Money Matt and not Matt Schaub, gonna be extremely pissed.

I expect Schaub, Schrader, and Beasley to also end up being cut. Fusco is a possibility as well. I think Irvin will come back on a 1-2 year deal and use draft picks to load up on the lines of scrimmage. These cuts tell me that they're freeing up some money to offer Jarrett a big extension, which will be well deserved.

Grady and Julio are gonna take a lot. I would be ok letting Julio go but that wont happen

I'm torn on this and have been for awhile. His presence makes this offense explosive and he's an unquestioned team leader who seems to be loved by his teammates (see their reaction to his TD against the Redskins that broke the drought). But this team also badly needs help on both sides of the line and football games are won/lost on the lines of scrimmage.

Exactly. I keep coming back to the stat about a team with a top 3 paid WR has never won super bowl. It just shows how better than money can be spread vs the production of just. 1 player. But I also recognize how much Julio means to this team

We don't speak of that game and all of the poor coaching decisions that went into it.

I still want Quinn fired for it but I'm willing to give him one more year. His in game coaching makes Mike Smith look like Bill Belichick.

I've actually seen that Beasley might get resigned on a lower deal than what he's on. He played better when his role was reduced, sadly.

Depends on how low the deal is, I'd be fine with that

I'll rephrase that. I'd be fine giving him a small one year deal. Definitely not looking to keep him around long term.

yeah I thought we'd cut him, but if we can do a new contract that's lower it could be worth it.

Giorgio Tavecchio has a cannon for a leg and I think he'll do fine as Matt Bryant's successor as Falcons kicker

Surprised Matt hasn't signed somewhere yet.

And why the hell has Schaub not been cut yet?

A writer on ESPN said Matt Schaub was Matt Ryan's favorite backup quarterback The Falcons need to draft a possible successor to Matt Ryan in the next 2-3 NFL Drafts.
