Cap is NLCS unless something changes with pitching, both starting rotation and pen we arent going to score 5+ every game, especially against the Dodgers staff

Probably the NLCS which where I see us going. Now if the Dodgers shite the bed in the NLDS, then the World Series for sure.

Consensus here is the NLCS.

I know we all like our good ole' boy Snit, but, his managerial skills were laughable in the playoffs last year. I think him, and the closer, will prevent us from contending for a title.

It didn't matter who the manager was in the playoffs last year. When you don't score until the second inning of game 3, it isn't going to go well.

yeah, blaming Snit on that playoff series is the only "laughable" part here lol.

managers in baseball are severely overrated in their impact on a game. Just a couple of years ago, Joe Madden got everyone's panties wet, and now he's likely trying to save his job. Mike Matheny was a hotshot young manager who would be able to relate to his players while implementing new age stuff. He was already fired. Etc etc etc.

This team plays well with Snitker at the helm. That's all that matters with a manager anymore. Surround them with quality coaches who can help with analytics, strategy, technique, etc. and profit.

I agree analytics helps a huge amount. Wish Bobby Cox had those. Wish Freddy didn't leave Kimbrel in the pen in 2013.

My issue with Snit last year was his rotation. Gausman was unconscious last year and played extraordinarily well against LA. He should have been the game 1 guy. With a young team, you just can't get down early against those guys. A lot of pressure at the plate.

I'll give Snit one more go of it, but, I wouldn't hesitate to give Ron Washington a go of it if we can't at least put up a fight this year. Team is too talented.

I'd keep Wash where he is. He's an excellent teacher

He's also managed 2 very young, talented (most of them were ours at one point) teams to the World Series. Think they were a strike away from winning it in 2011.

Not a stretch by any imagination to believe Wash could do the job.

I know the players love Snit. It's honestly his most redeeming quality. But our guys also love Wash - and if we don't at least make the NLCS this year, it's a move we need to at the very least consider.

So your saying you would’ve told your All-Star Ace to sit the bench in Game 1 of the NLDS? Ryu and Kershaw shut us down. It doesn’t matter who our pitcher was, we didn’t score the first 2 games.

Same shite is going to happen this year if we don’t acquire some help before the end of the month. Dodgers have given up 67 fewer earned runs and have a better ERA than our pitching rotation. Dodgers pitching is better, plain and simple, and their offense is just as strong as ours. This isn’t about the managers.

In those circumstances? Yes. He didn't look great the last half of the year. He's been relegated to the minors this year. We don't have a Kershaw where you just go, "I mean, this guy is a HOFer, its game time, he'll show." Sometimes you go with the hot hand.

We were overmatched, but I don't think we gave it our best effort.

Either way, I see us losing in 5 to LA in the NLCS. Go Bravos.

I've been an advocate of Ron getting the job for two years now. Not to say Snit has done a bad job but I think Wash could be phenomenal.

If we don't make the NLCS this has to be entertained.

There’s no reason to can Snitker unless something absurd happens like an indefensible off the field issue.

Why not? Are you Snit's grandson or something?

Because it’s clearly a talent difference on the mound. Dodgers pitch better than the Braves. It has nothing to do with management.
