I bet 1500 total I don’t have a gambling problem---Calvin Ridley twitter.

He cost us the ability to trade his stupid arse for 1500 in bets

Had friends send me the news. It looks like the gambling took place in November, well after he quit on the team. I don't see how or why that's illegal. He wasn't playing on any teams/games at the time.

This WR who barely played is held to a higher standard than most of our politicians who do insider trading weekly.

He bet on the Falcons. The team he was still under contract with.

He's done. Persona non Grata.

I understand the rule but at the same time, think it's a dumb fricking rule. He wasn't really on the team and wasn't at team events (so I've read). He bet on his team to win (so I've read).
Banned for a year.

Yet, had he just beat the shite out of a woman in a Vegas bar OR gotten a DUI, he'd be suspended for what... 4 games?

Sorry if I don't agree with the punishment. Look, I don't even like Calvin Ridley anymore after he quit on the team but I can still find the irony in the NFL's silly arse rules.
