He saved it, way to go Braves outside of Ozzie going out it was a hell of a game, love Acuna in leadoff way more enthusiastic than Ender.... imo it rubs off on the others. Wonder if the manager will take a hint and put Ender on the bench to play Culberson in left and Acuna in center.

Fox sports tweeted this after the win and said Snitker really knows what he's doing:
quote:
Ronald Acuna filled up the box score in Friday’s win over the Nationals by going 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, two stolen bases, and three runs scored. Not bad for his first time out of the leadoff spot in the majors. Coming into Friday’s action, Acuna was batting just .212/.255/.404 in 14 games since returning from the disabled list. This night was a nice reminder of the sort of dynamic fantasy performer he can be. Fantasy owners need to be patient through the growing pains.

Huge win! Great to start of the second "half" with a win. Hopefully the 3-8 record before the break is past them and they are in for a great August and September.

I really like Snitker as a manager. He knows how to get the best out of his player. The team really responded when he took over for Fredi and adopted the never give up attitude.
Does he make some head scratching moves occasionally? Sure, all managers do. It's easy to second guess decisions in hindsight. Hell, Cox had the reputation or of leaving pitchers in too long and mismanagement of the bullpen.
Now, Snitker gets criticized for taking pitcher out too soon and allowing hitters to try to work through their slumps (e.g. Ender & Dansby). Hopefully, his methods pay off and our pitching is better rested come October and our hitters gain confidence.
We need some bullpen help! If we pick up at least one reliable arm in the pen that would make Snitker's decisions seem better. It's hard to manage a rotation for 162 games when your bullpen is liable to blow the lead anytime you call on them.

His glove is too valuable in center to have him ride the pine, IMO.

Snit said Ozzie is likely going to sit the rest of the weekend.

Also, Fried is likely going to make a start next week against the Marlins.

I'd be inclined to agree. Here's hoping Pache's bat continues to develop. By most accounts, his glove is absolutely fantastic in center. I'd like to see him in the lineup by April 2020.

Pache is starting to hit with some power this season. He's already elite defensively. I suspect he's about 2 years away but once he's ready Ender will become expendable and he's lost some value this year.
Pache jumped into the Top 5 prospects on the team and if it wasn't for all the arms he probably would have moved up further. He's not going to balloon as high as Acuna but wouldn't be shocked to see him in the Top 50 on every list by year end.

It's a bummer the Braves game tonight got PPD.

A future outfield of Acuna, Pache, and Waters makes me drool

Yeah we hope they come up soon from Rome and the Fire frogs. In Gwinnett I hope for Riley, Marte, Touki and Allard.

Rain delay, first pitch is at 3:30 Eastern... if the Nats don't see another opportunity.

After the first, Braves need a comeback already, 3 runs came in for the gnats thanks to Rendon. Come on Folty!

Johan and Ender got hits back to back off Scherzer and Swanson got a run in with a groundout. 3 to 1 Braves.

Folty and Scherzer are both on pace to hit 100 pitches in the 5th inning.
