Just signed Jose Bautista to a minor league contract. They're going to try him at third base.

That's interesting, basically a no risk signing with a decent upside.
AA used the words "Very, very close" when referring to Soroka getting the call to the bigs. Soroka has been my favorite pitching prospect for a while and I figured we'd still have to wait a while for him to be up. Really exciting to see that he may be up soon.

The only positive of signing Bautista is the inevitable grouchy reaction from Joe Simpson if Bautista ever does a bat flip after hitting a bomb.

I don't follow baseball and know very little but what is the wait to bring up acuna? Is it contract related or is he not ready yet

First day he could've been brought up with the Braves getting an extra year of control was April 14th. Most people think they're just waiting for him to get into a bit of a groove at the plate since he had a lot of time off after spring training and struggled a lot at the start of the AAA season. Wouldn't be surprised to see him and Camargo up tomorrow.

I hope that's the case. Bring the young guys and get them going and getting playing time. They didn't dfa Ramirez like I was wondering above, btw, put him on the DL.

I hope Sanchez is ok, he was doing really well but something happened to him in the pregame warmups today.

Well, Anibal Sanchez hurt his leg in pregame warmups, had to be put in an air cast and carted off the field. I'd guess Sims or Wisler will take his spot in the rotation, yay.

They also called up the pitcher, Biddle. And I hope the story I read just now was right about them activating Camargo tomorrow.

AA spoke highly of Soroka and said he's "close". This might be what gets him called up

Sanchez to the DL with a hamstring strain (no clue why that would require being carted off in an air cast). Camargo called up.

Is he going to be on the bench in tonight's game or replacing Flaherty?
Posted on 4/18/18 at 5:20 pm to VADawg
True, but he also pitched last night and we need somebody to fill in before Saturday I believe. They could go with Newk tomorrow but they might not want to disrupt the current order of the rotation. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to bringing him up but we'll see.

I’d probably guess Wisler gets the start tomorrow night, and depending on how he does will let us know who gets that spot next week.

Nice hit by Ender too... the announcers say "He's back!" and I can't say they're wrong.

Nobody can get a hit but Ender... good thing McCarthy isn't allowing anything either.

Freddie Freeman has a hit now too, and Markakis right after him. C'mon Braves! You can get some runs in, Kurt.
edit: Man! thought he had that one.
