Flowers... yes Tyler Flowers... got an infield hit and drove in Acuna for the one run lead.

Soroka came up to bat in the 2nd and got his first MLB hit. Then Ender came up next and got Soroka in his first MLB double play.

Everytime the Braves got a chance it seemed like a double play was in order. On a brighter note, the bullpen (Yes I said Atlanta's bullpen) pitched 5 innings of scoreless ball after Soroka's departure at the end of the 4th. The relief pitchers were: Freeman for 2 innings, Winkler for 1 inning, Vizcaino for 1 inning and Biddle + Moylan for 1 inning.

Kurt pinched hit with 2 on in the bottom of the 9th and got a full count and then hit one down the line over 3rd. 4 to 2 Giants after Camargo was given the stop sign. Ender came up next and grounded out but scored Camargo, 4 to 3 Giants. Culberson (pinch runner) is on 3rd with 2 outs and Albies flied out. After the Braves sweeping defeat they still led the East because of the Mets and Phillies losing too.

We were wrong about good ol' Nuke or Folty having to be the one to move out of the rotation to give Soroka his spot. The coach says he's already got his spot and the one moving to the bullpen is the still on DL Sanchez when he comes off it. LINK

That's a good thing, but I think Folty will eventually move into the pen too

Agreed. I think the time is close for this, and I think he could be dominant as a late inning guy.

Folty's 26. I know that's not old, but it's close to "shite out get off the pot" time for him as far as his future in the rotation. Soroka and Nuke will be around for awhile, young guys are probably getting close to coming up (Wright and Allard), and there will probably be a trade for a TOR starter eventually.
ETA: This isn't necessarily a bad thing for him if it happens. Andrew Miller had dirty stuff too but wasn't cut out to be a starter. He moved to the pen and became a super dominant late inning pitcher. Miller was also in his age 26-27 season when he made the switch.

If Riley keeps raking at AAA and Bautista/Flaherty/Camargo struggle, I wouldn't be super surprised if Riley is in Atlanta later this year

Would love to see this happen if he's ready. I didn't see any games/ highlights from last weekend. How did Bautista look at 3rd?

Didn't make any bad plays defensively, was average at the plate

When the Braves brought up Gohara, the one who went down again was Jackson...

Braves optioned RHP Luke Jackson to Triple-A Gwinnett. Luiz Gohara will replace him in the Braves' bullpen. Jackson, 26, has allowed two runs in 1 1/3 innings over two appearances in the majors this season.

Game on.. Ozzie led off with a single to center. Acuna looked to get screwed over on a check swing call. Freddie felt he got screwed on a strike three he said he tipped but the video couldn't show it. Then Markakis got out too and left Ozzie stranded on 2nd after he stole a base. good luck to Newcomb!

Nuke didn't allow a run or hit but walked a guy before getting the 3 outs. Headed for a pitchers' duel Nuke vs Snell?

Acuna with a prodigious homer
Posted on 5/8/18 at 7:01 pm to dudeabides
Yeah loved it too.... Braves up by 1, Acuna homer says bye to the pitcher duel I guess! 3rd one of his first year. Freddie got a hit after his at bat, and Markakis stranded him.
