Markakis and Freddie aren't getting any younger and the starting pitching isn't quite there yet and obviously the bullpen is shite.

Truth, but Freeman is only 28. He's just now entering his prime and should still be an extremely productive hitter fir the next 6-7 years.

I realize how old Freddie is but we've got 2 guys who are 20 and 21 that are going to be the cornerstone of the franchise along with the young starters and we're not close to closing the gap with the NL's best teams...matter of fact it's widening with Mousakis now going to Milwaukee.

They sent Tucker back to the minors today when Fried came back to the team from DL. I think the worst player overall is a LHP in the bullpen who they give a million dollars and a million chances too because he was decent last season.... but maybe they'll get around to that guy someday.

Just saying the franchise is in a strange place. Why not trade Markakis if we can get a solid position prospect for em?

I think they consider Markakis a really good clubhouse influence on a young team in addition to how well he's playing

I would almost be sure they are at least listening to offers for Nick. You bring up good points about Freddie Freeman, he will likely want to go play for a winning franchise in a few years when his contract is up. I'm not sure you trade him this year, but if you're still a .500 team next year it might be time.

Dodgers took a one run lead in the 2nd from a sac fly. Simpson was yelling at Culberson for 'careless defense'.

Camargo hit a solo homer in the 7th nice one too, and it's a 2 run difference now.

The manager felt sorry for the Dodgers only having a few runs so he put in Sam F in the 9th, then he walked a couple and gave up a single, so now he's letting Venters pitch... 5 to 1 dodgers. Come on 9th inning grand slam.

Freddie, Nick, Ender, Swanson, Tyler, Ronald, Reed all went hitless. Guess Johan, Ozzie and Charlie can't do it by themselves so this one wasn't all on the bullpen it just seemed that way with the all star trio of Moylan/Jackson/Freeman taking the mound in the same game.

That writer David O'Brien says Kolby Allard is a 'strong candidate to make his MLB debut this week'.

Nice 1st inning by the Braves. Newk got 3 up 3 down. Then after a Freddie single, Nick got a double, then Kurt got one too. 2 to 0 Braves.
