4-5 with 3 HR and 8 RBI for Gwinnett. Atlanta is building some nice young depth with some flexibility to make some moves. Best record in the NL with a young team that could get better. Braves have to be buyers at the deadline this year right?

Yes, but not at the expense of any of the top prospects

Kolby Allard also had a nice day and is quietly pushing for promotion, went 8 innings with 8 Ks and only allowed 4 baserunners yesterday. He has the second best ERA in the International League despite being the league's youngest player. Going to be very interesting to see how we handle rotation spots over the next few months.

If Allard, Wright, and Riley are all legit, this has the making of another dynasty.

Personally I hope not. I hope they let the chips fall where they may this year and make some moves in free agency in the off season.

Even picking up a TOR guy I don't see that doing enough to make a deep playoff run this year.

Definitely shouldn't be heavy buyers at the deadline IMO. Team is too young, I have a feeling most of our young arms could be shut down late August/early September.

if the Braves are in the hunt around the all-star break, then they need to be buyers. When I say "the hunt", I mean within 5 games of the division. I'm not a fan of being buyers to try and sneak in as a wild card team. Trading pieces for a rental in hopes that you can make a 1-game crapshoot is not my idea of smart baseball, but if you have a legit shot at the division, then you need to go for it.

Now, I am not saying that they need to go out and make a wreckless move for a big name. Unless a guy like Michael Fulmer (pre-arbitration) becomes available, then the only moves I can see them making are to strengthen the bullpen or adding a bench piece.
