For the second night in a row the Phillies gave up 7 runs in an inning.

If Langeliers signs - which is expected best I can tell - I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in an Atlanta uniform before the end of the season.

I would. That would mean something has happened to Flowers or McCann

Are we saying he immediately jumps Contreras? I would be utterly shocked if a guy we just drafted is in the big league uniform this season.

And that has already happened this season.
Edit- to be clear, I'm talking about Langeliers being called up if some freak situation happens again to Flowers and McCann but most likely when rosters expand in the fall. Last season the Braves opted to carry a 3rd catcher on the roster when rosters expanded.
Christopher Russo is saying the Yankees and Braves are the favorites to land Dallas Keuchel.
It is hard to listen to the guy because of his voice, but he doesn't put out bull shite unsourced information.

Major conference NCAA baseball has a slightly higher quality of play than Rookie - High A level minor league play, IMO.
Looking at Contreras' numbers in High A this season (.703 OPS), I would not be surprised if Langeliers jumps him, unless there was some nagging injury Contreras was fighting that has pushed his stats down that has since been corrected.
I like Contreras but he's been in the Braves system for a while and is only in High A ball and it isn't like there's anyone significant in Mississippi blocking Contreras from getting promoted.

Thanks to the Phillies losing 5 in a row, if they lose tonight and ATL wins in Pittsburgh there's a new 1st place team in the NL East here...

Andrew Mckuchin hurt his knee seemingly pretty badly. Definitely out for a while if not the season.

CUTCH OUT FOR THE YEAR.
That is a big blow to the Phillies.
That is a big blow to the Phillies.

I hate it for Cutch, don't hate it for the Phils

Acuna scored in the first, 1-0 Braves.

Lead lasted until the bottom of the first.

Flowers got an RBI to chip away at the lead, 4-2 now in the 2nd.

Who do you guys think the Braves will start Friday night against Urena in Miami? Gausman would be the funniest, but he's pitching tomorrow, then Folty so he's out too. Counting out tonight's starter that leaves Julio or Soroka.

Fried has given up 8 hits in 1 2/3s innings, not good, Pittsburgh’s guy isn’t to great either.

Hate when they hit Ronald with those inside fastballs on the arm, brings back bad memories. One day it might bring a fight or something if they ever get tired of it.

Joyce had an RBI in the 6th, still down 2.
