Every team wants Kimbrel, but apparently he was asking 6/120 lmao. At this point, Kimbrel is not signing until June because of draft pick implications.

Biddle is all show. Big muscles, small uniform, terrible instincts.

Seriously AA, you frick, spend $2 million and sign someone for the bullpen since you sat on your arse all offseason ....sign anyone.

Kimbrel doesn't do us any good if we can't make it to the 9th. Our middle relievers are garbage. Thank you Anthopolus... ruining a rebuilding project. $23 million on a 33 year old 3rd base man, that should be putting up Freeman numbers, while ignoring pitching.

We should've won these past two games.

It’s like I said, when AA spent 23 million on a guy we didn’t really “need”, but says he likes our team the way it is, he is either stupid, or a liar.

We need about three or four more pitchers before we would need a guy like Kimbrell. I thought we had all these awesome prospects in the farm we weren’t willing to part with, none of them can help the bullpen?

Donaldson is heating up. Plus it’s great having Johan available to play anywhere.

Not really once Soroka comes up. Ian Anderson is a ways away. Wilson could be an option out of the pen maybe.

Toussaint would be a potential option but because Newcomb pitched his way to AAA he's going to have to start for now. Maybe once they're comfortable enough to bring back Soroka for a longer period (as it was clear they did not want to call him up, they want him to build back stamina) he switches to the pen until they go get help.

Gohara at this point if he ever gets back could help but who knows with him.

Maybe you end up switching Newcomb to the pen too as he honestly is better when he goes wild but no contact.

Newcomb can’t throw strikes tho. Perhaps in a 1 inning situation he’d be fine.

Fox sports Braves twitter video:

Did Alex Anthopoulos hear the "We Want Kimbrel" chants last night? "I'd be lying if (I said) I didn't hear it."

Did AA hear the boo birds from his press box? I certainly did. Loud and clear.

Should be 11-6 right now and tied for first with Philly. AA's comments yesterday lead me to believe he was fine with the bullpens performance last year (laughable), and that's why he didn't make a move. Now the injury bug is hitting them and it's even worse.

quote:

Anthopoulos discussed the amount of turnover the team has had in the bullpen and indicated that the team would look at both internal and external options.

“There’s been a ton of turnover from the beginning of camp until now. We’re going to look to do what we can both internally and externally,” Anthopoulos said. “We’ll try to do some things there.”

The Mets’ and Nats’ bullpens are actually worse. The Phillies and braves are about equal

I guess we're lucky the other NL East teams have shitty BP's as well. If we blow a lead today the stadium is going to lose their shite.

I wonder if the braves would try starting relievers, similar to what the rays did last year. See if that would change some things. That would relieve some of this late game pressure

Soroka let 2 guys in scoring position in the 1st. One came home before he could get the 3rd out. 1-0 snakes
