Because I was wondering where all of the hate on the rant came from? I'm not from nw Arkansas so I don't know about what all personal shite went down. Do understand a little better now. Rev and cesh made some good points. Then dale hijacked it and I tried to explain to him how option offenses aren't the same as the wishbone

The most believable statement you've ever made here.

I understood the reasoning behind this thread. On the surface, it wouldn't make any sense for Razorback fans to hate Gus more than any other coach.

If anything we should hate Saban more than anyone because he routinely poaches talent from our state while kicking our butt.

Whenever you get the backstory it becomes clear to why we dislike Malzahn. You also have to realize that when we first hired Petrino that there was a vocal group of Malzahn fans who wanted us to fail because we didn't hire their savior. There is also a weird group of Shiloh fans who hitched their wagon to Gus. I've seen plenty of cars with Shiloh stickers and Auburn vanity plates. Didn't see them when Gus was here or at Tulsa but they were everywhere when he got hired as head coach in 2013.

I think there is too much bad blood between Gus and our fanbase. The same can be said for BP.
There are supporters for both amongst our fanbase, but for a majority it is a no.

I'm on the side that I don't want gus as our coach and I th mink Bobby definitely deserved to be fired but why do we have to hate the guys just because they're not here. I mean Bobby fricked us Apr wise but guy isn't a bad coach. Same with gus.im sure he's a shitty human but let's not act like he's a terrible coach

Imagine the immense amount of butthurt that would occur amongst our fan base if Gus was offered a HC job here.

I think we need a young guy with Texas ties who can recruit all of the athletes that come out of east texas. There's a good there imo now that art has been canned (for good reason). If Baylor can become a national power so can we.

I would point out that Baylor let their athletes rape everybody.

This has historically been our problem area in regards to recruiting. I think with the downfall of Baylor and Tejas being a complete dumpster fire of a program, now is our opportunity to lock in solid Texas recruits. We just need to figure out a way to sway them away from A&M and Oklahoma.

I'd like to think that wasn't why they got all of those good football players. I have a little bit more faith in humanity than that

That's not why they got them but probably the reason they signed with Baylor in the first place...we aren't going to sign Gus with character issues

Now that I understand but not all had character issues. Rg3 comes to mind. Shock Linwood. Kendal Wright. Stidham, petty, Coleman etc. Those were good players that chose Baylor
